Amen. I’m a liberal from the Bible belt, and I agree with you. Nothing great was ever done in this country or in this world by just one group of people. It took all kinds working together. We may not be perfect as a species, and we forget important lessons too soon sometimes. We all have to come together over the simple things that unite 98% or more of us tho to make this life better.
Im Independent/ Libertarian- we all agree this isn’t the way to treat eachother while these ass holes get richer. We need to start tackling their enterprises. Sending any politician that has broken any law, you and I would be jailed for, mandatory jail time extended for all politicians who have failed the American people.

Who elected The Government? Does anyone out there understand how our government is supposed to work for us, the taxpayer and how badly most of us have been marginalized and disenfranchised over the last 40 years? There is NO both sides to it either. Look at what republicans have done to cut people from voting(our voice), enrich themselves(trump grifting his voters so they’ll pay for his attorney expenditures), interminable wars so the war machine(anyone remember Halliburton?)just keeps on looking for cannon fodder. We need to stop electing democrats and republicans, fire the crooks in dc by replacing them with honest decent average people. You know what, people like you and me who are "former Democrats", or formerly left leaning, we didn't change what we believed. At least I'm assuming that you haven't. It's the parties that have changed - most specifically the Democrat party which has gone so far to the left that it's not even remotely liberal anymore it's authoritarian leftist. People who care about individual freedom and preserving the constitution are now considered "right wing" when those used to be values that were shared by people on both sides. It's crazy. But what people need to start waking up to is that the Democrat party is just what the World Economic Forum is using to push through their Great Reset. They could have come in on either side - and don't get me wrong, I'm sure most of our Republican politicians are in on it as well, it really is a "uniparty" that just pushes a divisive narrative to keep us fighting and ignoring them - but the left was easier to use because they believe in big government and are usually more emotion driven. The vast majority of us at this point feel exactly like Oliver Anthony feels, he doesn't like either party they have both screwed us. We need to drop the party politics and start paying attention to who our common enemy really is.

There’s no republican or democrat. Those are just the labels our owners wear to keep us confused, entertained and occupied. Politically, do you believe in more government which means more control and less freedom, or LESS government which means more freedom and… more personal responsibility. It’s a real gut check, which one are you… and which do you think you should be.

I'm a 62 year old white man and people should see the system we have wants to divide us - this song speaks from the heart. I truly believe he is blessed by God to send this message (and others) to us all. God uses His people like this. At a recent concert he read from Psalm 37. Read it and know His word is encouragement to His people. God speaks through Oliver's lyrics.

The stories that have been shared paint a brutally honest picture. Suicide, addiction, unemployment, anxiety and depression, hopelessness and the list goes on. Im sitting in such a weird place in my life right now. I never wanted to be a full time musician, much less sit at the top of the iTunes charts. Draven from RadioWv and I filmed these tunes on my land with the hope that it may hit 300k views. I still don't quite believe what has went on since we uploaded that. It's just strange to me. People in the music industry give me blank stares when I brush off 8 million dollar offers. I don't want 6 tour buses, 15 tractor trailers and a jet. I don't want to play stadium shows, I don't want to be in the spotlight. I wrote the music I wrote because I was suffering with mental health and depression. These songs have connected with millions of people on such a deep level because they're being sung by someone feeling the words in the very moment they were being sung. No editing, no agent, no bullshit. Just some idiot and his guitar. The style of music that we should have never gotten away from in the first place. So that being said, I have never taken the time to tell you who I actually am. Here's a formal introduction: My legal name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford. My grandfather was Oliver Anthony, and "Oliver Anthony Music" is a dedication not only to him, but 1930's Appalachia where he was born and raised. Dirt floors, seven kids, hard times. Ive spent all day, everyday, for the last 10 years hearing the same story. People are SO damn tired of being neglected, divided and manipulated. In 2019, I paid $97,500 for the property and still owe about $60,000 on it. I am living in a 27' camper with a tarp on the roof that I got off of craigslist for $750. There's nothing special about me. I'm not a good musician, I'm not a very good person. I've spent the last 5 years struggling with mental health and using alcohol to drown it. I am sad to see the world in the state it's in, with everyone fighting with each other. I have spent many nights feeling hopeless, that the greatest country on Earth is quickly fading away. That being said, I HATE the way the Internet has divided all of us. The Internet is a parasite, that infects the minds of humans and has their way with them. Hours wasted, goals forgotten, loved ones sitting in houses with each other distracted all day by technology made by the hands of other poor souls in sweat shops in a foreign land. When is enough, enough? When are we going to fight for what is right again? MILLIONS have died protecting the liberties we have. Freedom of speech is such a precious gift. Never in world history has the world had the freedom it currently does. Don't let them take it away from you. He was put on the Blue Ridge Rock Festival Lineup last minute on a 12:20pm time slot. For anyone not familiar with festivals, that timeslot is typically very small crowds for the small bands compared to the large acts later in the days. This man had a FULL CROWD at 12:20pm that day. So glad I was there for that. I agree completely. This isn't specific to anyone. This speaks to us all.

I’m about a conservative as they come. We may not agree on a lot of things but we both love Jesus and like this song. I really appreciate you giving this song a chance not just going with what you heard about it. We really need to get back to being able to disagree and still respect each other and enjoy our common interests. One day we will be praising God for eternity together and none of our differences here will matter.
As a hard liberal, grew up in Washington state where left wing policies are known to all, this man speaks the truth. It's not an anthem for either side.
