It’s funny how colonization works. POC are pitted against each other, and we get distracted fighting among ourselves instead of uniting against a common enemy. 😔
Yup. I think that was the true message Ryan was trying to portray in regards to the main conflict, that black & brown people should unite against the oppressor, not fight each other...
Divide and rule. That's the colonisers motto. Our people were also like this before our independence from the British. Hence why it took so many years for us to break free.
That's what the movie was ultimately trying to say, I think. You can't be that minority that's trying to play nice with the majority because they're still going to take what they want from you and make you a bad guy. After that awful status quo post-credits scene in the first film, I was SUPER happy to see them walk that back in Wakanda Forever!
This is a great tribute to Chadwick Boseman. And Namor is a great antagonist and he makes a great point. What a fantastic movie and a great reaction ☺️🙏🏿
@@Chuuzus yes he is scary but he also raised a great point. Especially with the government's of the world being a huge threat. Especially when mutants becoming a thing soon oh boy it's gonna get ugly
Seriously great antagonist! During the last battle, I couldn't even get into it because I was like "Stop killing each other, you need each other!" Just like Killmonger, he had a totally fair point, but a terrible solution. The whole movie shows what unprocessed grief does to people and how they view the world. Incredible story.
I’m saying this as a movie theater goer and marvel fan. The theater was silent when I saw it, no laughs or any type of applause. Pure silence, the only thing i heard was a few sniffles as people were crying.
@@Chuuzus honey can we talk about michael b jordan on the throne looking like a whole entire chocolate cake okay cake michael b jordan is too damn finnnnnne for his own sake I call michael b jordan cat daddy just too damn finnnnnne
What I love about the ending, with Toussaint and the point of him being raised in Haiti, is the fact that Toussaint is actually the name of our freedom fighters of Haiti which soon became the first successful slave revolt EVER. So, Toussaint being raised in Haiti means he gets to understand what his name means and the weight it carries (which is great foreshadowing).
Names are amazing things, but the additional benefit for Toussaint/T'Challa (assuming he gets a formal introduction at home before it's too late) is that he will live and grow up, fully emersed in the world. Starting in Haiti with his mother Nakia, but then to wherever his curiosity/intellect will take him; throughout the African and Afro-Latino Diaspora, and further as he learns.
I went to the theaters to see the movie. THEE Angela Bassett was EVERYTHING! Tenoch was fine as hell and great as Namor. Leticia was really good now too. I was literally 1 minute in and they played the Marvel logo with Chadwick. And yes, Wakanda was beautiful! Now with all that said, I will not be sitting down to watch this movie again. I refuse to put myself through this trauma. 😭
3:47 Besides, T'Challa promised to share their resources to help those who need help, so that the world could learn to "look after one another as if we were one tribe", he never said anything about giving or selling vibranium specifically to any country, especially not to people like the American government who are in no need for help.
I wept so much watching this in the theatres. The world really lost a gem when Chadwick passed, may his soul rest in peace ❤️ I am grateful they honoured his memory beautifully. Every single performance in this film was spectacular. Not only just the acting but the music, costume/production design were all incredible. As well as the wonderful mix of cultures and representation. The grief felt in the entirety of this film was enormous. Take care Chu, thank you for this reaction x
Man, THANK YOU for this reaction! I'm an African American, and so my entire life I've been a different kind of Black. I very much appreciate how you judge this movie as an African person. And yes, it is Black History Month, but we only celebrate American Blacks and their creations and advancements to our history. It's so cool to hear your commentary about what we (including Ryan Coogler who is a Black American man) did right and what we got wrong. Biggups.
this movie is a true testament to just how much Chadwick is missed. you can feel his presence throughout and it's personified in the phenomenal performances of everyone involved. Ryan Coogler did an amazing job with this film. also, Angela Bassett is getting that Oscar. period. ❤
the Dora Milaje music always gives me chills!! Also, if you don’t know Riri’s “hero name” is Ironheart. I love the way the scene when she first has her suit mirrors Tony’s first time with his suit in the first Iron Man movie. Like when he went to high and froze then dropped, and she went to high and lost oxygen then dropped!
Let's all appreciate how consistent Chuuzus is with his content. Now that's how you build a loyal following and boost your brand. Consistency is key! Love that. This guy is great.
I bawled my eyes out in the theater. Angela Bassett *crushed* it in this movie. The fact she got that Oscar nomination - deserved! 🤞 please let her win Chu you had me cackling when you started the Hereditary monologue hahahah
This movie had me crying and tearing up for Chadwick’s passing and I loved how the movie handled it. But I have to add, Tenoch Huerta had me drooling every time he came on screen. He’s such a great actor, and very sexy. Es mi amor ;)
I was in the theaters sobbing my eyes out. This movie was so beautiful and even watching you react to it it still gives me chills. I think Namor was a great character and I loved his story/people and the introduction of Mayan culture to the MCU. Truly a masterpiece, I hope Chadwick is proud of how they carried his legacy because I sure am
Such a nice dedication to Chadwick Boseman. Poor Shuri experienced so much loss in this movie and I really want to see her more as the Black Panther because her time was so short being the Black Panther in the movie!
Just a little info on Namor, he actually came before Aquaman in comics & he is set up as the first mutant in both the comics & now the MCU, this is setting up huge things for the future!
I've never cried this much during a movie in theaters, literally from start to end. Had so much goosebumps, absolutely best movie from phase 4! I'm immediately re-watching tomorrow. ALSO LMAO loved how you reacted to seeing Namor cause S A M E , sumn was shaking down there and it were not my legs 😟
Loved your reaction to this. You were sad, excited, happy, ‘thirsty”, you went through it. Love watching your reactions, and listening to your perspective, and commentary. It’s like watching with a friend. Many blessings to you. Oh - and Angela Bassett BETTER get an Oscar for this.
This movie was so good, I literally got every single emotion during it! Angela B's performance was INCREDIBLE ! and namor is one of my favorite antagonist now AND YES NAMOR (tenoch Huerta) IS FIIINNEEEEE like ... why is he so fine if he can't be mine ... god im not asking for a lot
I was one of those people bawling the first minute of the movie. I lost my brother from brain cancer and idk why but I just felt that first scene so personally 😭😭
I've watched this movie with my best friend the day she was turning 16, November 20th, which is the Brazilian Black Conscience Day, and oh lord, we've never cried sm with a movie.
I started to tear up in London IMAX seeing that graffiti portrait of Chadwick at the funeral, and LOST IT COMPLETELY watching the silent Marvel intro tribute to Chadwick (which was perfection). My god. Then sobbed uncontrollably at the silent footage of T'challa and Shuri at the end. To the lady who sat next to me and offered me a tissue - thank you x
I'm over here snot-nosed in tears. Ughhhh, this movie was hard to watch. My first watch of this movie I didn't finish it. I couldn't take them killing Queen Mother. That's where i had to stop the movie, I just couldn't take anymore. This reaction was my first look at the rest if the movie and I'm glad I watched it with you, thank you!! You had me tickled how you were lusting after eveybody 😂 but I get it everybody in this movie looked GOODT!!!
Okay so, I watched this in theatres and I had SO MANY thoughts: 1. the Xhosa got better (not much, but still better than the first) 2. I sobbed like a CHILD through the first 20mins, (death really is so Final, and for now I've ionly had to experience that hurt once before now) 3. The winged feet man is FINE AS HELLL!!!!! (Sheri, if you don't get him my black ass will!) 4. I LOOOOOOVE THE WHITE FUNERAL!!!!! IT'S MY FAVOURITE SCENE!!!!!!!!! THE FASHION! THE OUTFITS!!!!! I C O N I C. (African culture is so fucking beautiful) 5. Angela Basset is QUUEEEEEEEENNNNN!!!! BIH!!!!!!! 6. The pale people are extra wicked in this one!!!!! 7. I was still crying over Chadwick in the mammywater scene! 8. Between the corruption and the pale people, Africa never had a chance, girl. 9. "You bald headed demon" took me and my friend OUT. Next time I get a fresh-cut, I know she's going to call me a bald headed demon. 10. Sheri in that tracksuit is my lesbian awakening. Periodt
Baby ... when I tell you when they killed THE Angela Bassett off, I was in the theater having a fit, I was in complete shock I just sat there trying to process it, but my delusional self she still alive and her shuri are healing together with their fabulous wakandian outfits 😌
I'm so glad I waited to watch this while I'm in the comfort of my home because I cried a good 1/4 of the movie. Tears at the beginning. Tears in the middle. Tears right before the end. Tears at the end…tears everywhere. I'm not an emotional person but dammit, this is so good and it hits so hard. Everyone's acting was superb. As a fan of the MCU they did really well with expanding the story, but honestly, the first movie and this one together perfect movies.
Thank you for this reaction, Chu. And it’s ok to cry. We all did. And did Irwin your reaction. Agreed with the comments. This was unexpected but a perfect tribute to Chadwick’s memory. Imagining the cast really grieving over him in those heavier scenes really hit hard. Silently crying & eating my big pretzel.
I’m so glad you reacted to this on the channel!! I loved WF so much, I went to see it in theatres three times 🥰 and for Namor and Shuri, I’d do it again and again and again. Really hope we get to see Namor and the Tlalokanils again on screen
My first time watching your channel and I loved your reaction. You had me laughing so hard talking about how fine Namor is. I was the same way when I watched in the theater. 😂😂😂
I'm from Australia and didn't know who Toussaint L'Ouverture was until I saw this movie and looked the reference up. Now that I've learned a bit about him (gotta get onto the book 'Black Jacobins' my parents lent me) and a bit about Haiti, here's what I'm thinking: A movie or miniseries - mainstream release - about Toussaint L'Ouverture A movie or miniseries - mainstream release - about Jean-Jacques Dessalines A movie or miniseries - mainstream release - about Henry Christophe And then afterwards a tv series covering the entire history of Haiti, since as someone else on RU-vid commented, the history of Haiti puts Game of Thrones to shame.
Oooh that was a lot. Was not prepared to see Queen Romanda die 😢I was still emotional from T’Challa’s funeral scene. And loved seeing Killmonger again, was hoping at some point he would become Black Panther, but the ending seeing T’Challa has a son! I’m excited at the prospects of a third movie with an older version of the young Prince. And Namor in them booty shorts…oh my.😘 All that African and Mayan culture was a breath of fresh air.
This movie was so beautiful, touching and still entertainingand I too was thirsting for the whole cast especially Namor cause they FINE ASF!!! You are like one of my favorite RU-vidrs ever💓💓
Love this reaction from you Chu! ❤️ I saw this movie with a group of friends and I can't express all the things it made me feel. I felt a sense of community I hadn't in a while. I laughed, cried, yelled at a friend who had already seen it for not warning me about it, and dread at knowing what lies ahead. All the awards!
I just found your channel and am watching through your backlog, I love how much you get invested in the story, it's so genuine and refreshing! Would you consider reacting to Marvel's show Moonknight, Oscar Isaac is in it and he gives a truly breathtaking performance. I look forward to seeing what you do next!
actually, the Black Panther franchise needs to stop making the finest mens alive their villains...damn...and they make great points too, it's kinda hard to desagree sometimes...
Disney thought Namor was, um, filling out those shorts a little too much (?) so they CGId out most of his bulge and cakes lmaooo! Which means there's an original cut out there, sooo. To be serious, I saw this in theaters twice and cried a lot both times. Chadwick's death hit me hard, even though he was a complete stranger 🙏
I loved this reaction so much. Since it’s black history you should watch the candyman movies. Just the first and the newest one maybe. He’s the first black boogeyman that I saw growing up and it’s perfect for your horror content 💜
Movie is soooooo gooood and it made my ass tear up ❤️🥰🥰I love it for everyone they was ACTING Angela Bassett was everything and BLACK don’t crack omg❤️🥰🥰🥰🥰love yaaaaa chuuuu🥰let me get to work 🤣🤣🤣WAKANDA FOREVERRRR❤️🤞🏽
I have never cried this much in one movie as I did for this movie. I want to rewatch this but I need to recover from this depression that this movie put me in.
I cried from start to finish with this movie. Even the parts that weren't sad. As soon as they started the movie with the Chadwick tribute, I knew I'd be in shambles the entire time
I loved Chadwick... like obsessed and this movie had my balling at the beginning. All the pictures of Chadwick.... Heartbroken! AND Naymar really PISSED me off.
One thing a lot of people missed is the Van license plate (CB112976) - Chadwick Bosman D.O.B, 29 November 1976.... when the colonizer is being broken out of the van lol....
37:58 Remember just before we met Namor Ramonda told Shuri she had something to tell her about T'Challa. And little Toussaint/T'Challa here was one of the children who greeted Ramonda and took her to Nakia when she went to their school.
