My interpretation of the lyrics was that Desire was a succubus in the guise of a country girl. 'up from another world' , 'bust another soul' , 'endless flame', 'unholy lady' , 'snatch your soul away'

Love Vinnie's drumming on this album - he is a legend! You should check out some of his other groups.

One of the rare ones where RJD sings along with the riff. He purposely avoided doing such and that’s one of the biggest changes from Ozzy to Dio Sabbath.

"'Country Girl' was one that did cause a bit of a problem," guitarist Tony Iommi said in a Songfacts interview. "We started playing the riff and wrote the whole thing, and then Ronnie sang this melody about a country girl. I thought, That's a weird thing to sing about. Geezer [Butler] and I didn't agree with it, and Ronnie went, 'What's wrong with it?' It sounded a bit odd, really, him singing about a country girl!"

Your right! I love Ronnie's voice, and Melody really did country girl very well!! I'm a big LILIAC FAN! just wish she would do a few more like Mistreated, maybe Lonely is the word, and maybe some NAZARETH!!! Oh, and Taste of India by Aerosmith!
