I saw Rick play with the late great Hughie Thomasson as part of Skynyrds line up in the 90's .... members Outlaws/Blackfoot together.....what a show!!! RIP Hughie😢😢😢
@@spuds6423 I know, I was so sad when I found out hughie had passed away, I couldn’t believe it. Seemed like it happened so suddenly. Crushing news. I really liked hughie, he wasna amazing musician/ singer/songwriter. I love 💕 green grass and high tides. So awesome.🤟. I was lucky enough to get to see them at Rupp Arena in Lexington. It was so awesome. That’s been early 2000’s to mid. Rickey sure is a beast on that guitar 🎸. Love em. Oh yeah, have you heard anything about Rickey having a new band ? I think I heard it was called “ The Rickey Medlock Band”. Not for sure on that but I see hear he had a band and they were gonna be touring. I hope so. Would love to go, be awesome 💚🦋
@@Shannonrenees I haven't heard anything about a new band per se...the last time I heard anything from him was on Eddie Trunk's show with Johnny Van Zant talking about the tour with ZZ Top... I got to see Hughie at the New York State Fair only a few weeks before he passed. I was crushed because the Outlaws were my favorite band. I am so glad I got the Alien Outlaws tour shirt. At the Skynyrd show with Hughie and Rickey I was lucky to catch one of Gary Rossington's picks so that is definitely a prized possession. RIP Gary 😞😞😞
I remember me and a friend heading to the smokies, pulled into a truck stop and bought an 8 track called Blackfoot Strikes, it blew our mind 1979 We would see them played that fall in Nashville, TN. We when on to become friends with Rickey in 1995 going out to eat, i remember he drove off in a van with a U haul, next year joining Lynyrd Skynyrd.
This band was dope .I saw them in 1981,and they opened for Foghat in Yakima ,WA. What an amazing concert.Beer, women, rock n roll, and the strong scent of weed in the air.Doesn,t get any better than that.I was 16 years old.
Ah yes my brother, these truths still exist,my birthday was yesterday,4.16.66,my band opened 4 the Outlaws back in the 80s in a local bar in P.A.,they were not at the height of their popularity but it was a gift 2 be part of that night,we partied with them afterwards a nd who shows up but Rickey Medlocke super cool, played guitar all night, did some sniffin and some drinkin, wicked cool, never 4get it,chek out my music on youtube, youll know im 4 real,GHOSTDANCE,HEADY METAL,Glen Paul Strickland, cheers my brother,Peace 2 you!!!!!!
@@glenstrickland1513 Happy belated Birthday my brother.Mine was on the 14th of April .Did a little drinking, but not too much .I can,t like I used to.I,ve been to too many rock concerts in the past ,I can only remember a handful.Lol, but hell,it was fun.🤘

I have loved Rickey Medlocke for many many years!!!! I just can't get enough of him!!! He is sooooooo handsome and sweet!!!! And cool would say he's cool!!!!!❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I saw that tour, Boston October 1981. I was a huge Def Leppard fan so we mainly went to see them, but I was also a moderate Blackfoot fan. Both bands tore the place up. Excellent show.
I saw these guys in Flint Michigan at a little league baseball park with Deep purple. What a cherished moment from my childhood. It turned that whole area in Flint into utter chaos! Thank you for this memory!
Showed up late to the start of a Blackfoot gig in Marietta, GA in around 1984. We could hear them all of the way down the street when pulling up. Talk about load
If Blackfoot existed today, they would be comparable to what a Van Halen/Pantera love child would have produced. Maximum volume, balls OUT in your FACE rock & roll at FULL throttle until the fuel is GONE...
I love this. I saw them when they played in the SFX Hall in Dublin on that tour. They were amazing. One of the best gigs I was ever at. Samson were the support band.
Just heard Rickey has a new band. Rickey Medlocke Band!!! When he's not touring with LS he will be out front with his new band!!!!! And I love it!!!!!!!
I wish Dimebag was still alive... He would Lay waste with these guys...My god, not overboard either, man could he roll with anybody, and just annihilate on Leads... that would be insane
I remember seeing them at Hammersmith odeon London around 81 or 82? They were backing the Scorpions and for me were better...scorpions were great as well tho
