Demo of the Valkyrie Drive from Blackhawk Amplifiers (blackhawkamplifiers.bigcartel...). A RAT based distorion with an additional clippping stage through an LM386. Also stacking with a Tube Screamer style Black Arts Toneworks Witch Burner and the Black Arts Toneworks Quantum Mystic (Both included in the Black Arts Toneworks Raw Heart OD).

Amazing tones out of this! Have you tried reversing the order with the Valkyrie running into the Quantum Mystic as well? Opinions?

Actually, I don't think I tried it. At the time I did this video I wasn't very fond of the sound of the QM on it's own and didn't liked it boosted. In the meantime it's one of my favorite pedals. My next video actually centers around the Raw Heart. I have it ready in a few days

@@OscillatorDevices Oh that's interesting! I had the opposite experience where I really like boosting almost anything into the QM, including the Pharaoh. Considering getting the Valkyrie too which is why I asked ;)

Love the Richmond reference. I'm questioning how to use muff style pedals for these heavier sounds. I'm sure you have some that are based on muff pedals and wondered if youd ever kinda show how you use those for this application? Just a thought.

Finally someone got the reference :D Of course, I love muffs. The Pharaoh is a muff. I used it in the Wurm, Raw Heart and Acapulco Gold video. The latter two are basically my desert island sounds.

I think I want to build the BAT Pharaoh and the original fuzz war from Death by Audio. Delicious tones. I recently built a mountain king megalith. I think you would love that thing.

@@OscillatorDevices I've got most of the intro figured out, but the part starting out at around 3:30, just before the solo, gets me lol. it kinda reminds me of some of the more artsy screamo of the early 00's like City Of Caterpillar and Haram

I know that's not what you were going for lol~ just that part at the time stamp and that particular cord shape was familiar to me in that genre :)- and this demo convinced me to go out and get both the valkyrie drive and the raw heart! great stuff- thanks for the tabs and the awesome demos!

Did you use any sort of noise gate with the Valkrie? Just picked one up off reverb and at full gain it shrieks pretty bad.

not sure if there's an issue w the pedal or if I just need a gate or something.

I don't use noise gates. But I have a mute switch (tuner etc) that I step on the moment I stop playing. Thing is, a lot of setups I show here have so much gain, that you get some sort of feedback the moment you stop playing. If you get the feedback while playing, try moving a bit away from the amp, or fooling around with the EQ and/or tone.

Definitely recommend you check out the DOD Carcossa. You can still find new ones for cheap while digitech is liquidating the stock

@@OscillatorDevices digitech killed the DOD brand. They are selling off the rest of the DOD products in their warehouse and that's it.... It's a shame. Those boutique crossovers like the Boneshaker, Looking Glass, and Rubberneck delay has me hopeful for the DOD brands future
