Would you guys wanna see more BLACKPINK or... ?

It's well known amongst her fans that she's very shy and reserved irl. Yet put her on stage and all of her filters drop away, her alter-ego is revealed in full. It's this duality of personalities that makes her so charming and why she's been my bias for 6yrs.

Jennie has stated she doesn’t like talking about her self But I think she is very confident in general and very clear about her emotions

Jennie is rather famous for not speaking about herself. She freely shares she does not like talk about herself.

I have to agree with Orange Grove down below with their video idea, the Jennie + David Beckham interaction at the Adidas event a couple of years ago was really interesting. She is genuine and sincere...not just confident all the time--for many reasons including speaking in English WHICH is her second language like most people. I do have decent English-speaking skill too but it's different just when conveying it verbally. I literally stutter and phrases become incohesive and I say the wrong words. Nothing what I have in mind delivered the way I want them expressed,like, my mouth went off on its own making a fool of itself

Actually there’s no mystery here. In interviews this is Jennie. Shy, reserved, a cutie. Her stage persona is the 180, a diva, a baddie. For blinks…this is Jennie.

English is not her first language, as a person who has English their 3rd language I can relate to her because I'm actually fluent in English but when it comes to having a conversation I just go blank, my mind stops processing lol. Also Jennie is a really reserved person with an introverted personality.

Whatever she does people try to hate her.. that's why I think she thinks twice before say anything

Well, there is a cultural difference and her first language is Korean. After her 5 yr stint in NZ, I bet she doesn't have much chance to speak English in Korea.

I don't think you are considering the sentiment and cultural aspects in terms of communication styles here. She grew up with both cultures from New Zealand and Korea. She was also trained in one of the biggest entertainment companies that has a hierarchical system embedded everywhere you go (producing, practicing, lesson, etc.) in KOREA. She had stated that she feels nervous while interviewing in English as well. So maybe do some more research on the person's background before you jump to the conclusion.

First of all English is her second or third language! And she only spent five years in New Zealand to learn English! So factor in her shyness and she also has think before she speaks because she doesn’t want to say something that can be misinterpreted like you did at the very beginning! Rosé’ spent eight years in Australia so she has better command of the English language! Try to be mindful of these K-pop Idols who may have limited knowledge of English!🙏🏻

Well, her native language is Korean, not English. It seems a bit much to be judging confidence/veracity levels when someone is speaking in their 2nd, 3rd, etc. language without a much larger data set. As she says later in the interview, she's not confident speaking in English. That has nothing to do with her honesty in answering. Adding that, with people speaking in a 2nd language, there may be translation difficulties between what's clear in their native language but not clearly translatable in their 2nd. Plus, in this case, she was probably most nervous at the start, then got more comfortable. I'm not defending Jennie, I just found this analysis to be a bit unfair, since you weren't factoring in pertinent facts. I worked as an Intelligence analyst, and I was trained to not make assessments until I was in possession of all relevant information available on the subject - like watching the entire video before assessing each statement as a stand alone.

Some of her shyness in the answers really comes from not be totally confident when she is speaking English during interviews in particular.

You nailed it. I was initially captivated by blackpink with their songs dududu, whistle and boombayyah, etc. but it does seem that they stagnate and haven’t evolved with their music much. So maybe the members feel that too.

With the first question, in particular, I think that she might be being dishonest. I no longer think she enjoys being an idol as far as performing and making appearances as a K-pop idol. I believe her passion(s) are changing. She gave an answer that people/Blinks want to hear.

I think her lack of confidence comes from lack of passion/knowledge about music. She has had past interviews where she was asked about the music making process and she and the other girls were blank because it gets handed to them and they don’t have a lot of input. She might be a lot more confident about things she is passionate about like talking about her brand deals or maybe her upcoming series but music is not her strong point.
