honeycomb would just fill in with resin and make it to heavy.. honeycomb works best with preprg carbon.

Honeycomb works best for flat vertical surfaces, like bulkheads. That hard top is going to be curved. It OK for floors, as long as you cover it with a lot of glass and you reinforce mounting points. I fish on a boat that they used it for the floors, about half of the outside decks have been replaced with foam. Separation of the honeycomb from the outer layers is very common, requiring expensive replacement.

@@Juicememelord Wow, long ago i was interested in the subiect. My thinking now, after some research (again, long ago), is that that foam is closed cell. There is no reason for open cell. With closed cell the resin makes contact just the right amount, on the surface, and making the right mechanical lock (with its porous surface). This is what i know/understood. Good luck! Mircea

It is written on the foam. Divinycell H80, which i believe is a product of DIAB

james baker its a legit question. Carbon blocks radio signals. Curious if they experienced any issues.

from what? the GPS, RADAR and VHF Antennas are all mounted above the hard top and wired down to the nav equipment at the helm, what interference were you thinking?
