Every single time I hear that someone was in the US for 20-30 years illegally and couldn't get a citizenship I roll my eyes. My family immigrated from Eastern Europe. We did win a greencard (despite playing for almost 20 years), but we had visas. We used them to get in and applied for asylum, so I know the whole process from the inside. It's long, a bit expensive, but doable. We waited 2.5 years for the interview, them another half a year to finally get the white card. A year after we replaced them with grencards. Since we've submitted our paperwork, we were eligible to get work authorization, SSN and driver's license. While we were waiting, my father got a construction license and my mother is getting her first degree. We all work and pay our taxes. In a couple of years we can finally get our citizenship. This is truly American Dream.

@firstlast9916
@firstlast9916 4 года назад
Bobby da Costa There is no way for him to get legal. The government doesn’t forgive. He will be away from his family until he is freed to marry his wife again in 10 years. Marriage will give him a green card. That’s how stupid the system is. Marrying his wife will make him acceptable to us somehow. How dumb can a law be? What difference does marrying his wife make to us voters? Are we going to be safe in ten years when he marries her again? He will be away for ten years. Their household will be making less money to pay bills. How does this help you the voter? You didn’t answer the question. Should it be illegal to drive sober unless you hire a lawyer and get on a 25 year waiting list? No criminal record. No arrests.
@firstlast9916
@firstlast9916 4 года назад
Bobby da Costa nope. Illegal immigration is a lot harder than legal immigration. Legal immigration is just luck. In order to come here legally you have to qualify for a category of green card by “being lucky”. Marriage is the most likely way to get a green card. Work green card are getting practically impossible to get lately. The quota is 66,000 and it gets filled in a day. You apply on the second day and you are out of luck. But either way, it’s irrelevant. We are violating their civil rights. No person can be denied life, liberty or property. No person. Not citizen. Person. So the real criminals are American voters that are electing morons to discriminate against foreigners. Voters like you and politicians are violating the 1st, 4th, 5th, 10th, and 14th amendments. And you are also violating the 1964 civil rights act that prohibits discrimination based on national origin.
@firstlast9916
@firstlast9916 4 года назад
Bobby da Costa countries don’t have rights. A country does not have a right to do anything because a country is not a person. Individuals have rights guaranteed by the constitution. 14th amendment. Funny how somebody that would not have rights doesn’t even know which amendment gave him his rights. Wake up dude. Black people were not eligible for freedom (citizenship) because of who they were. The 14th amendment was written specifically like that to stop this from happening again. They knew that in the future, morons like you would find a different reason to deny freedom to people. Mexicans are people, Africans are people, Chinese are people, Jews are people. They all qualify for freedom at their birth. Doesn’t matter what color their birth certificate is. They are people just like you. Life, liberty or property cannot be denied to anybody. ANYBODY.

I never asked anything of Canada that it was not willing to give to any of its citizens. I did not ask it to change or accomodate me or my culture. I instead asked Canada to accept me into her fabric and I accepted her culture . He was working with a skeleton crew and had already had to let go a few people, some of these people he'd been working with for almost 10 years. They were over worked and stressed but they simply couldn't compete with other businesses that were hiring illegals and paying under the table. His only options were hire illegal as well or move and try and restart somewhere else, he chose to move to another state. It makes me furious when some brainwashed brat squawks about how "they only take jobs we don't want" and even worse "they do the jobs white people feel are beneath them". They depress wages, push everyone else out, and then claim we didn't want those jobs anyways.

Immigration sob stories...that's what I call them. It took my husband from 2004 to 2016 to get his green card (permanent residency). During that time frame, he had to leave the U.S. and live in Mexico for a few years until he got a temp. visa to return to the U.S. Once he returned in 2013, we continued to process with the assistance of an immigration attorney. Next year he will be able to apply for U.S. citizenship. It sounds like Mr. Garcia did not do what he was supposed to do when he was supposed to do it. Immigration law is very complicated to maneuver and we had a good attorney. As a piece of advice to anyone who needs legal assistance for immigration purposes....get an attorney that practices ONLY immigration law. Any attorney that does a mixed bag of criminal, civil, tax, personal injury and immigration law runs the risk if missing some very importance nuances in immigration law.

What leaves me so flabbergasted about this entire matter is that those on the left have stated that they disagree with existing immigration laws, and so they and their followers refuse to abide by these laws, leading many not-well-informed people (usually in other countries) to believe that they have a legal basis to simply disregard US immigration law. I'll grant that the system needs some revision, but existing law (and procedures) is what our legal system is based upon; people choose to violate these statutes at their own peril. Yet, whenever this happens (which is frequently), our legal system, and the US in general, is portrayed as inherently racist simply because it seeks to do the same thing which every other country (including Mexico) in the world does: control its borders. Once a state is unable to control its own borders, it ceases to be a viable state. People who knowingly violate US law are in fact criminals, not political prisoners, etc. The legal route was open to every single person who chose to do otherwise. My wife waited over 30 years to receive her US citizenship; it takes patience and diligence.

We had the same thing on the local news. Black single mom of 5 had warrants for tickets in 4 different ordinances. She hadn't shown up to court and went to jail with her bond equalling the amount of her ticket fines. The paper wrote some sob story about the bail bonds equalling debtors prison, and how we should give people get out of jail free cards if they've reproduced. How about you just show up for court? Judges love small payment plans or even community service over putting out warrants.
@largol33t1
@largol33t1 5 лет назад
Pickles, you'd be surprised how that last statement works so well in traffic court. The judges are swamped with cases and USUALLY are in a more open mood to haggle or bargain with the defendants. It blows me away how often they soften their attitudes towards the lawbreaker if the person admitted to wrongdoing and offers to pay a little bit of the fine every month to avoid jail time. I saw this on a message board kinda like Quora and the stories were the same. Lawbreaker is brought in for speeding. Judge: You can say whatever you like. Remember, this is your day in court so don't hide anything. Defendant: Okay your honor, I can't really afford the $400 ticket but I'll cough up $100 by TOMORROW. Then can we just have me pay off another $100 every month and I go to defensive driving classes along with that? I'm amazed how many times the judge cuts a deal like that. I guess the moral is: DRESS to show you mean business. Don't wear your "My favorite ride was your mom" shirt and jeans that were put before a firing squad. Ladies, don't wear $2,000 worth of bling. You look hilarious trying to avoid a ticket when you have a Gucci watch that's shinier than the sun! Be polite (Duh...) and calmly explain that you are NOT guilty. Even if the judge imposes a fine, ask how you can pay it off. That's when the judge goes into haggle mode by reflex. He/she has a full plate and doesn't want to keep holding up the line. (Now I know this only works in big cities, if you're in a small country town where 99% of the people in the courtroom (including the judge!) drink with you on Friday nights, you're probably out of luck). If the court seems pretty busy, that's when you go all out and try to appease the judge. STILL, remember to plead NOT guilty! WAIT for the judge to slap you with the fine and then make an offer. You have nothing else to lose...

Single mom of 5? Let me guess, she was a total ghetto bitch. Also, I'm guessing those tickets weren't for very minor things, either. If there were speeding tickets, she was probably doing 15-20 over the limit, if not more. Parking tickets, she was probably either blocking a fire hydrant and/or double parked. Basically, the worst shit you could do without getting a jail sentence

...I was deported in 1997 during the clinton administration (didn't blame clinton, but my own felony convictions), and had been a legal resident since 1976... I was allowed to apply back in 2002, but didn't find the need to (being as I had a life) until 2017, to meet my nephews (my mother, father, and brothers had lived right and became naturalized citizens back in the 1980s)... did everything by the book and was able to enter twice on tourist visas since... mind you, TRUMP's administration allowed me, a deported convicted felon, to enter the US LEGALLY twice... I, a deported convicted felon, followed the rules and was able to enter the US LEGALLY... twice... and I'm sure I'm not the only one... which goes to show, if you follow proper LEGAL procedure, things get done THE RIGHT WAY...

I think they’re blaming the weather on Trump too, and complaining that because of the cold, homeless kids are freezing under bridges and whatnot. They forgot to mention that the number of homeless vets (and other homeless Americans) has decreased since Trump took office.
@filmandfirearms

@William Hebert I knew they were expensive, but I didn't know it was that bad. The disturbing thing is, that number makes a lot of sense. That could probably buy a half decent winter coat for every homeless person in America, maybe even with some left over

The "huge problem" was that the freezing weather didn't further the global warming agenda.

Entering the country illegally is a crime. That makes him a criminal. Its part of a narrative that they trying to get out that Trump is a heartless, white supermacist racist who hates "innocent" (guilty) brown "immigrants" (illegals) and wants to deport and break up their families.

Kim O'Brien so what if he came when he was ten. You can be prosecuted for a crime after the age of 13 if I remember correctly but if you only count actual jail he has still been in the us illegally for over a decade when he was an adult
@bhaddietingzz164

Kim O'Brien but you and others have pedal a false narrative that trump made laws to deport people the laws were there when Obama was president but people didn’t say anything to him because he was if color tump is enforcing laws that have been in place you can’t just pick which laws to enforce.
