He only cares if it means you're stronger. I think it just shows a man with no fear doesn't care about outward appearances. Says that anyone that scares just from their appearance is a weakling.
I don't understand why Komamura's next line is that Kenpachi is too focused on appearances. He literally just said appearances aren't important. I think Komamura might be an idiot.
AND while fighting with one hand. No one could defeat Kenpachi in the Seireitei... maybe Yama-jii or Kuchiki-sama could force him to use 2 hands / remove eyepatch but that's all
he was actually brought up later in the manga that as much as he likes fighting he very rarely actually kills anyone. If he kills them they can't fight anymore so he will usually let them go so they can come at him later stronger than before.
He was blood thirsty, but only for combat. Not killing. When he killed that Fullbringer in one blow he was so disappointed. That’s exactly why he always suppressed his powers.
Add that they confirmed in TYBW that the bastard is holding back even without the eyepatch because the last time he went all out he almost killed Unohana. . .as a fucking kid
Kenpachi stands for strongest shinigami. Hes not for nothing the wild card of seretei. Old man yama didn't stop training kenpachi after a day because he was to weak, he would of been able to destroy old man yama and soul society if the training kept on going. This is something so many people do not realize or forget and put zaraki below so many shinigami while in fact, the title is for a reason.
Yeah, that line was a complete lie on his part since he hated Soul society. He probably didn’t like Zaraki though considering he kills for fun, a lot of people dislike Zaraki lol.
Aizen THE G.O.D that’s true, I got that wrong. Zaraki ends up killing people sometimes since they’re too weak to survive his attacks, but he rarely finishes anyone off. What he enjoys is fighting, not killing. Tosen said he followed Aizen because he wanted a path with the least bloodshed. As someone who fights for fun, I believe Tosen definitely would’ve still disliked Zaraki.
Most people would disagree with you on that fact broly is a wayy better character than Zaraki obviously yall didn't understand the Broly movie or your love for bleach has blinded you.
I'll always love Bleach for it being my introduction into anime. Back in 2007/2008 I was 17/18 years old. Soul Society arc just floored me. Every fight had me flapping my arms around so so excited. Now I'm god damn 30 years old and still into anime.
The skill to dodge an attack the moment it makes contact with your flesh is insane. That takes more than strength and willpower. That's some Ultra Instinct levels of reaction.
It's so edgy but in the GOOD way and not the cringe way. It has that futuristic, roughshod feeling that represents the violence but also the abstract, dreamlike quality that Bleach possesses.
@Milos9 I especially think that earlier bleach looks dreamlike with it's bright soul society colours that look almost too high contrast/saturated, as well as the lower resolution and the wishy-washy lines. Obvs later the quality of animation went up and the lines got sharper, colours deeper etc.
One of my favorite lines from the fight with Komamura is how they show Kenpaichi being so open minded instead of just crazy, when Komamura's face shield slashes open and his face is revealed for the first time and what he actually looks like, he ask's Kenpaichi or something along those lines what he must think of what he is and Kenpaichi tells him he could careless, he just enjoys a good fight without a care of what you are or what you look like. Kenpaichi didn't discriminate or pass any judgement, nothing of the sort. From that moment onwards Zaraki has always been my fav Captain💯
one of the charms of kenpachi is just single minded he is(in a good way) he only cares about having a good fight he doesn't have any lofty ideals, he get caught up in complicated motives he just fights.
@@pforgottonsoul He is someone who is 100% honest with you! If I have to choose any Soul Reaper to have my back in a Doomsday scenario it's Kenpachi and Gin.
well kenpachi cant die too,he ll be reincarnated by his tremendous spirit pressure until his enemy is evaporated same with cheater ichigo and his hollow bankai xD
@@lexex2550 Don't disrespect old man Yama like that. Don't forget that they both got one shotted but Yama has better feats and is known to be stronger than kenpachi. Yama also beat two captains that are stronger than the ones thah kenpachi faced. But if we are going to talk about the strongest then Ichibei is the strongest.
well, the domain expansion is inspired by the Bankai, as well as many other things in jujutsu kaisen, gege akutami declared that he is a fan of Bleach, thats the reason
@@00Grimreaper00 he actually does with yamamoto but it only took place for 3 days if im not mistaken cause the council stopped it because of the fear that if he'd become too strong he might flip and turn against the soul society
@@darkknight6219 yeah imagine if kenpachi spend most of his time training he'd kill all quincies by just mere spiritual pressure and save soul society in one swoop
This man suppresses his powers to the absolute limit. He literally reaches the limits of his weakness, how goated is that!? Imagine if he released his full potential properly learnt how to use bankai and fighting techniques
@@WatcherLex_ dude his bankai only make hisagi can control both reiatsu of the target i hope you joking if think he can fight kenpachi because of his bankai
When Zaraki says "And after death go reincarnate yourself and come at me again!" to Komamura makes so much sense right now. Maybe Zaraki knew that Jinka Technique exists.
I love how Tosen was able to one-shot Kensei 100 years ago, but when he stabs Kenpachi through the chest in the same way he just doesn’t give a fuck. Kenpachi has to be the most durable Soul Reaper hands down, only one I’ve seen come close is Yamamoto.
Its already stated that Kenpachi's reiatsu is monstrous for a Captain level shinigami. He literally fought with a sealed zanpakuto all the time before the last arc, even when he's up against Nnoitra and Yammy. It even took 4 Stenritters to knock him out
@@ariqyafifatalahputraani7 well yeah, I wasn’t doubting any of that. Kubo never explains this, but having higher reiatsu levels seemingly makes you harder to fatally wound. That’s the only explanation.
I never really liked Zaraki until this episode. From then on, I became his #1 fan. Kubo may not be good with tying up loose ends, but he really knew how to write badass characters.
They had to cut it short due to Kubo’s health. Kubo himself said that if it wasn’t for his health, the Bleach manga would’ve gone on for another 10 years (so it would’ve been done this or next year).
@@shuz6925 Yes, but it would only take damage from spiritual energy, whereas Stands can be affected by anything physical or spiritual. Also, the reason it takes damage is because it's part of his Zanpakuto, an extension of yet another extension of his soul, as opposed to being directly connected to his soul like a Stand is. I hadn't realized before, but a more accurate comparison would be to Nero's DT from DMC 4. It mirrors the user, manifests from his weapon (The Yamato), and has no mind of it's own, unlike Stands, which range from limited thinking to complete sentience, and can take (somewhat) independent actions as they see fit.
And at the end you couldn't but feel bad for Tosen. His idea of justice was to destroy the system that let his best friend's killer go free, and he pretty much lost himself in his bitterness and rage towards the system.
For someone who is known for being bloodthirsty and recklessly challenging his opponents, Zaraki is actually really smart with how he figured out to beat Tosen's bankai.
It's really amazing at how overpowered Zaraki is .. all this time that was his spiritual pressure taken on human form ... You know how powerful you must be for that to take place
I love how Kenpachi get shocked by Sajin's first attack lol.. Shows that Sajin goes without playing and doesn't chill. He is the embodiment of "if I have to do something, I will do it now"
too bad he fails to do anything 99% of time regardless. While Kenpachi is fucking around 99% of time but is always doing heavy lifting 100% of time eventually.
@@Mario-kf3ej Toshiro, Tosen, Ukitake, soifon, renji, rose, kensei, central 46, Ywach and so on failed to do anything. Zaraki is only popular cause all the fan service out in Bleach was put in him.. See how Royd Loyd choked him???
@@madaophilippines8418 noone did anything its fiction if Kubo decided that Kenpachi will choke Royd then he would choke Royd not the other way around. You try too apply too much logic to anime "logic" - gotta warn you it doesnt go well. Btw I'm not shitting on Bleach , but it same in idk Naruto or One Piece. We have to accept author version , but we dont have to agree with it - that is being called constructive critcism. Also glad Kenpachi got a lot place to shine - great VA, great character and thats why people love him.
I love Kenpachi, he has the strength of Ichigo without all the fancy power ups. Just a dude with a sword who likes to fight. And with full powerups he is probably as strong as Yamamoto.
Thing about Ichigo is that those power ups are more his true power getting leak out at certain percentages. That and black Zangestu is overprotective and actively limiting him. A full power Ichigo would have murder fuck most of the gotei 13.
tbh I'm not actually sure which is stronger between Yamamoto and Zaraki both using their Bankais. Zaraki's Shikai and physical power alone were enough to make a guy whose power was literally "I can make anything I can imagine" break and die trying to imagine a version of himself who was stronger than him. His Bankai is so overwhelmingly destructive that it threatens all of Soul Society upon activation - like a certain other guy's. Old man, long beard, propensity for setting things on fire...? I'm just saying, there's potential for a really good fight that we never got.
Even a bleach hater like me likes Zaraki. It seems like he was the only shinigami that deserves respect. My next favorite is Gin Ichimaru its a shame that he never really fought Zaraki.
the reason i love zaraki so much is that hes a calm guy, youd expect him to be characters like vegeta or levi where theyre pissed off at every moment but when hes not fighting hes a respectable dude
Zarakai is so strong that not only did he beast mode one of the most physically strongest captains and the other that is the best sensory captain. He's the only captain to obtain the title without showing or knowing his bankai. Hes the only shinigami that defeated his captain to become the 11th squad monster captain we all know and love.
Not even his captain, he just showed up one day, killed him after hearing that he is the one who loves fighting the most and kinda just stayed there after that.
@@tomasmisek5598 Eh, the previous before him probably wasn't even that strong. 8th Kenpachi was imprisoned. So the 9th didn't defeat anyone to claim the title. Hence, the 10th beat a nobody. Zaraki is the 11th.
To note he was also suppressing the lion share of his powers then using a little piece of cloth to suppress even more power. Genuinely was more of a monster then anyone thought.
@@malsawmzela609 Kenpachi won that fight due to the fact he was the last man standing and the last one to faint... Never understood why people say he lost to ichigo
Kenpachi confirmed in his eyes he lost stated why are you sorry you won ya idiot as his sword broke if and he was also taken out of the fight if anything it’s a draw
I dont understand how that was a moment that makes Zaraki your favorite. For me he became my favorite based on his fights with Nnoitra, Komamura, Tousen, Stern Ritters, Unohana etc.
He may not be the brightest or has various abilities like the other captains but it shows how kenpachi is pretty much the strongest soul reaper in terms of raw strength alone.
Another example of why cutting out dialogue is bad, even if you already seen the fight a lot of the gravity comes from the dialogue and the resulting actions from those words. If this was your first time seeing this fight its a very watered down experience.
Love how Kenpachi didnt even have a Bankai while only using 1 hand and was still giving them absolute hell, yet they said he was underestimating them 😂😂😂 Edit: Almost forgot that he didnt even bother taking off his eye patch 😂
“Sanity? I never had such a bothersome thing to begin with.” Scrolled a bit and can’t believe no one has mentioned that line. Badass yet mildly unsettling - Kenpachi in a nutshell.
Kenpachi is a genius. He was forced into a situation beyond his reckoning. And despite that, just by observing his opponent through the last sense he had left, he formulated a plan for victory
I like that this is where it is established that by grabbing someone’s zanpakuto you can break their Bankai if it’s based around the senses. Nice call back when you have Yama vs Aizen.
Does anyone realize the gravity of him willingly impaling himself on a sword & it not affecting him in the slightest a minute later, let alone fighting two fellow captains using their bankai, & he's just toying with them
The ironic thing is that Kenpachi as a Kid would have easily defeated both of them with no effort. It's bc of him fighting and reaching pure ectasy and the highest form of Euphoria against Retsu "Yachiru" Unohana that he decided to hold back on his opponents and placed so many subconscious shackles on himself and his ridiculous reiatsu that he became so much weaker than he actually is and that's the actual reason he can't hear his sword, except that due to his nevertheless massive reiatsu, his Zanpaktou spirit still materialized and follows him as the cute, sadistc Yachiru we all know and love.
@@knowcomment4525 Who has more reiatsu after the bloodwar timeskip Aizen or Zaraki? ... 10 years after the war. 10 years to learn more about nozarashi and his true power..
@@SuperCrysis92 My favorite character from Bleach is Kenpachi but i gotta be honest. Aizen was reiatsu war potential. Even Yhwach respected enough Aizen to that point that he said to all quincys to fear his spiritual pressure. Ofc Kenpachi was fighting strenght but Aizen is immortal and have stronger reiatsu so Aizen
@@lazarkaric8089 Idk bro. Kenpachi from the getgo has the most potential from any character. Being a kid holding back against the FIRST kenpachi. Unohana. That alone speaks volumes.
@@SuperCrysis92 i think its Aizen. He even casted a #90 Hado when he's still strapped into that reiatsu draining chair. And he was able to use #99 Hado without saying the full incantation
Kenpachi fought the two Captains with their Bankai without removing his eye patch. Imagine how strong Unohana fought Kenpachi with eye patch removed from the start of the battle.
