I love how it makes sense that his resurrection form makes him weaker because he no longer relies on the mastery of his other senses. He entirely trusted his eyes which would be a natural thing to do if you suddenly gained eyesight for the first time.
This is the danger of gaining hollow powers. Not only the eyesight, the ability to regenerate makes one more reckless because one would think they would be able to regenerate from all sorts of wounds. Same thing happened with Aizen, he got all cocky when he started to fuse with the Hogyoku and gave Urahara the opportunity to apply the seal.
Okay that makes sense, but what happened to his raw power, he could handle the bankai with one hand and after the last transformation he was on equal ground with its power, doesnt really make sense
@@brajanlazaj1133 With just the mask, Tosen was still dodging and only getting cuts in when an opportunity appeared. Tosen blocks a 1 hand swing with one hand in a sword guarding stance. In his fly form, the giant now uses two hands for attacking and guarding.
As strange as it is, I think this is actually my favorite fight in Bleach. The narrative is solid, the spectacle suitably epic, and the choreography is phenomenal for this kind of shonen-style fighting,
The narrative of this fight was great and heartbreaking. From Tosen ridding himself of using soul reaper powers to entering the realm of the hollows. Reveling his resurreccion and being defeated because using his new eye sight turned out to be also a great weakness. Which is why I truly love bleach.
It's because before he was blind and used all his other senses to be a master fighter. But then he got eyes and got overwhelmed with his emotions and what not and started only utilizing his eyes to fight while neglecting his other senses that made him such a formidable opponent in the first place. Notice how once he gets eyes, he completely throws away his fighting technique and just starts throwing attacks left and right without any plan. His reliance on his newly acquired eyes became his downfall. Which is quite ironic.
rod Yep, if I recall correctly, the 6 stands for "mu", the first syllable of Muguruma Kensei’s name. Muguruma Kensei, who is captain of the 9th division, hence the 9.
This last arrancar season was one hell of a ride. We realize how much Tosen has fallen, how meticulous Aizen's plan really was, how the Vizards were simply experimental arrancars. And what Gin's real goal was. So much development in a single season is too much. No wonder I binged it all in a couple of days...
Without spoiling too much, Shuhei continues to respect Tosen (and keeps referring to him as captain) in tybw. Kensei’s probably the one person [Shuhei] respects more than Tosen but even with that respect he was visibly upset at kensei when Kensei was calling Tosen soft
I love how.. Hisagi is calling out to Tousen as "Captain Tousen" the entire fight. Until the very moment he decides to end it all, and says.. "So you really aren't Captain Tousen anymore"
It's hard to blame the guy for losing. He's basically doing some kind of third person sword fighting without being able to see what his bankai sees. That probably takes a very high level of spacial awareness.
I like how Shinji took off his mask before fighting Aizen out of dignity and pride for what Aizen did to him, even though it could've given him an advantage. What irony.
I wish we could have gotten to see a lot more captain vs captain fights in Bleach. At 0:07, Aizen didn't even flinch at Shinji's attack and Shinji was almost decapitated by Tousen attack, but was able to dodge Tousen's attack mid swing. Pretty badass.
People complain about Komamura his Bankai Skills, but regardless of that you can't deny he has a heart and a spirit of a warrior which makes Tousen's death even more tragic including his past and goal
@@abhilashanand1176 Not really, He was one of the stronger captains like Gin, which is why Aizen chose to corrupt him. The reason he lost this fight is because he lost his path of Justice when he followed Aizen.
@@razatiger22 Him and Komamura literally couldn’t take on Zaraki. One of the strongest? Lol. Zaraki, Unohana, Byakuya, Shunsui .. if you include people like Urahara .. then he’s right at the bottom lmao. I agree Gin is strong though.
@@abhilashanand1176 Zaraki doesn't really count, considering his reitsu levels are similar to Yommamoto. Zaraki is probably the 2nd strongest captain in the Gotei 13. That doesn't mean Tousen and Komamura are weak.
Hisagi is really an under rated character I feel he probably has more character depth than ichigo. From his Mentor betrayal Arc with tousen to his fight with The Arrancars to the fight with and acceptance of his zanpaktou and later accepting the nature of death his greatest fear and attaining bankai in the manga. He's in heart a gentle person who doesnt like war or killing but his profession necessitates it. I really liked that episode between him and Rangiku in the zanpaktou arc it really opened him up.
Read Bleach Cant Fear Your Own World , It set 6 months after the 1000 Year War arc and the Protag is Hisagi. Its really good Hisagi got a weird Op bankai Oh .and his shikai makes him basically immortal too.
The fact that he got his own novel that is basically the sequel to Bleach mean that a few people, including Kubo, agree that he is a very interesting character and main protagonist material
The light Novel is a direct sequel, CFYOW is set after 6 months and another LN Bleach WDNALY about Rukia and Renji getting married is set after 3 years And burn the witch is set in the same universe it's in England .
Always saw hollowfied Tosen as a perfected visord, the way they would truly looked like if they accepted their evolution rather then try to reject it and be seen as failed experiment.
It's crazy. I haven't actually watched the show in some seven years now, and I can't remember the specifics of any of the characters or the stakes at hand, but I still remember how much I cared for them all and got hella invested watching this through anyway.
I like how tousen in this fight is pretty fast and uses his hand to hand combat too instead of just his zanpakuto. To me he was the most versatile/well rounded captain in durability, kido, shunpo, etc. after byakuya
The fact that all Tousen wanted was to see and the moment he got that he lost sight of who he was (pun intended). Sometimes what we want isn't what we need
Tosen's true strength is while he may have been blind, it makes him capable of using his remaining four senses to their full potential. But once he gained the ability to see, it made him vulnerable. Shame that he didn't notice it during the battle.
It's so sad that Tosen let himself get to this, like he sold his soul. His bug form is truly disgusting. Just a pawn to be thrown away once he proved useless.
Really hoped that Tosen would get a redemption shot after his defeat. I hoped he would be imprisoned or something until he finally got trust back. And Aizen crushed that hope in seconds
Never seen someone power DOWN to fight someone more powerful than them lol. Imagine Goku telling Buu "And this is SSJ2 again. Sorry to keep you waiting"
"You are Uglier than I thought" says a fly like looking human being with crooked teeth to a fox like man playing real life VR....hmmm I think I got bleach in my eyes 👀
They really did Komamura dirty in the manga following the end of the anime. Then again, the same can be said for a lot of the Gotei 13 during the Blood War Arc.
I wish that Kaname didn’t die in the end. I liked the final interaction between him, Sajin and Shuhei it was heartwarming. I kinda wished that they redeemed him and he went back to being captain again. His friendship with them was one of my favourite things to watch
7:07 - 7:09 Komamura: ".....And there it is; the 'you're ugly' joke. Fuck it, man, let's just do this. It's been a long day". The energy that I got from this scene. 😂
