A circular walk in the Lake District covering five Wainwright Fells.
The walk starts from the village of Mungrisdale in the Northern Lake District and first heads up to Souther Fell (522m) before heading to Scales Tarn and then up to Blencathra (868m) After enjoying the fantastic views from Blencathra we then head over to Mungrisdale Common (633m) We then follow the grassy path to Bannerdale Crags (683m) The views from Bannerdale Crags are superb. Our final fell is Bowscale Fell (702m) From Bowscale Fell we follow the ridge back down to the village of Mungrisdale with a view down to Bowscale Tarn as we head down.
Distance is around 11 miles.

Awesome route and on the back of this excellent guide I'll be heading to the lakes tomorrow to do it and to wild camp somewhere along the way. Thanks so much for the content Eddie.

Love this video. This is the route we will be doing next time we come over (minus Mungrisdale Common). Excellent footage

Terrific video Eddie - it brought back lots of memories for us having done these summits in the past - but not all in one go! You certainly had a great day for it. All the best to Carol and yourself 👍

Hi Eddie, I did the same walk but in reverse last September - stunning.

Hi Eddie. I did this walk the other way around minus Blencathra back in June. I thought the view from Bowscale Fell looking to Bannerdale Crags & Blencathra was superb & had me humming the theme tune to 'The Big Country' for some reason. Also loved the detour to Mungrisedale common - even on a warm summers day there was no-one else there. Great video.

Did this about 6 weeks ago my 1st big hike, on my own with the dog. Weather was stunning. I just did Blencathra only I absolutely loved it.

Great video Eddie. I had miserable weather when I did most of those fells so it was nice to actually see the views!! Brought back lots of great memories.

Fantastic video, Eddie, and a big hike. As ever you got the weather, superb views, and almost all to yourselves. We did part of it and loved Scales Tarn, though it's quite a climb up from there. At the top we took your path but didn't go to Mungrisdale Common. Instead we turned right down the valley. Nice cheap car park too always helps. You took some great photos on the tops, loved the view down Sharp Edge, but don't think I could climb it. Glad you are both keeping your fitness up!! Regards, Ashley.

Hi Eddie not seen you out and about for a bit so was great to watch this video of you both out enjoying yourselves. Super photos along the tops there with amazing views over Scales Tarn and along Sharp Edge. Both my children are up this weekend, they both live down south so don't get to see enough of them really. Had it planned for us copy your Fleetwith Pike/Haystacks and your Kirk Fell/Great Gable video walks but the weather looks terrible. Sod's Law eh! The weather looks like it will brighten up after Monday so I'll maybe get them to stay the week. Thanks for posting Eddie, it's always good to watch and get great ideas for different walks. All the best David

£2 a day parking is canny mind and a walk I have been meaning to do for a while as I have only done Blencathra there. Good to see you got better views than we got at the summit of Blencathra and I have only ever had one completely clear view from there, despite doing it numerous times. Looked a great path over the Mungrisdale Common but what a disappointing summit, if you can call it that. Looked a long walk but what a great one! Cheers Alan

Funny enough I did a very similar walk from Mungrisdale to Blencathra a couple of months ago. I’d definitely recommend walking Blencathra from this starting point and it’s easy to cut out Souther Fell and Bowscale if you prefer less climbing and distance. Cracking video Eddie, many thanks.
