Imagine you got to spend your life producing liquid dnb and deejaying to amazing crowds. Sure beats the misery I waste my days doing…no wonder he is so cheerful.
They need to invite him back with Paradox, Nic TVG, Equinox, Code, Nebula, DJ Trax or Nucleus and do a drumfunk episode and I'm sure he'll smash it! :D
She also produced and co-produced a few great tracks. I have them from BBC 1XTra archived shows. I Would definitely like to find on the digital music stores.
@@rEspanator its so vast. I don't think anybody else has a catalog with the size to quite ratio he has. I feel Seba is hands down the best to ever make this music.
What an incredible time this was in drum n bass, I remember checking out Groovetech and Juno every week when the new drum n bass vinyl would drop, just killer tunes. And checking out Tony Colman just dropping incredible tunes on his Hospital show. Big up Seba making classic tracks for so many years!
Big ups to DJ Flight, one of the best Djs and she introduced me to every everyone on screen in the early days. When everyone was playing robot funk, she played the deep dark moody tracks … as she would put it. Love her shows and podcasts. Longtime fan. Of course the producers and Djs on screen I listen to daily and my archived Flight shows show up in my random shuffle mix, always a delight and rediscovery of unreleased gems. Exclusive. Blessed 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Special playlist with many tracks that I love! Much and much respect for all djs, especially for dj Marky, great dj of my country and the world. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Takes me back to the days of being 16,17,18 buying records early noughties at Freebass in Sheffield. Aggers ribbing me, calling my bundles 'Fabio-style'. Took a short break from work and watched this. These tunes still give me that same rushing feeling ...
I know most of the tracks but Liquid Drum 'n Bass never was and will be my favorite. The good old Intelligent Drum 'n Bass from the 90's is my real love in the Drum 'n Bass genre.
I love this genre, definitely my favorite d&b style and I have to thank the legendary LTJ Bukem for introducing me to it with Demon's Theme from the Jackal soundtrack back in the 90s. Immediately hooked
What I love most with this series is that I have heard most of these songs before and recognise them, but as a “consumer”, I have no idea what these are called nor the name of the interpreter. Success rate at best 10% (approx. one song per test). But big fun. Thanks
Cracking selection this, considering I own every record bar that Space Invader (never liked it) I’m ashamed to say I only scored 6.5 / 10. Liquid era was much maligned and became heavily copied and oversaturated but there was so many choice tunes that still sound timeless today. Big ups all involved 🙌
I've never really grasped what exactly is meant by 'liquid' as opposed to other drum'n'bass. Turns out it was the stuff I was dancing to at early 2000s squat parties almost every weekend! How about an electroclash round next, maybe with JoJo DeFreq, Miss Kittin, Erol Alkan and the Ladytron DJ team (Mira and Reuben)?
I love these blind tests for music genres I was never a listener to. I’ve been with goa/psytrance for the past 20 years and can imagine the same fun for those early 2000s releases. There are a few tracks in here I’ll seek out to hear the full version. Recently I did come across some of Seba’s work and really like his style! He has a track (forgetting name now) in the Descenders video game.
Please more liquid tunes with that exact selection of legends 🙏 this is by far the best episode; would throw in if you get calibre to be part of it that would be great ❤️
Incredible! Was smiling and vibing along the whole way! Felt like a teenager again. Thank you so much Tim for the wonderful selection. Could have put Deep Into Space & Back too no 👀
my girl alley cat! good choice. 16 seconds in and i'm massively thrilled. large up. not necessarily the style of drum'n'bass i dug at the time though - i guess i used to be on the opposite of the spectrum, exploring darkjungle and breakcore-bordering dnb.
Knew this edition would be a hit, great job with the line up, glad to see some of these faces getting the coverage on here. Feel free to do a 90s intelligent edition!
This is soooo great!!! i have 9 out of 10 in my collection. but i stopped djaying 14 years ago. i have to do a rememberancenight. chills and goosebumps all the way :D thx electronic beats
