its too repetitive and same old verse chorus verse 3 minutes radio hits. Im not dig it. im sorry. i guess im too old for this. Im 37 btw. i think younger kids gonna love it
I really liked this one, sounds kind of old school blink with Matt. I think what everyone tends to forget is that this is the 2nd album with Matt and as good as he is in Alkaline Trio, the dynamics aren't what we're used too, but how long and how many albums did Blink take to finally get there with Tom? The early stuff is good, it it's no Enima of The State, TOYPJ, etc... I'm really excited at the progress they've made with Skiba in relatively short time.
I like it, drums do seem muted which is a strange choice & without much of a distinction between the verses & chorus it's a little flat over all. I think it's a potential 'Stay together' though, sad lyrics in a catchy song.
Jesus Christ they gave you 3 completely different songs, a punk song, an angsty song and an anthemic blink song.. Matt even figured out how to mix toms style into his own.. you want 3 50 year old naked men running around ? This fan base is so broken, they can’t please everyone with every song... you must be a sub redditor. It kinda breaks my heart, they’re busting their ass to appease fans and put out a quality album even delaying because everyone over analyzes if Matt or mark aren’t angry enough in a 3 word chorus. I just hope they don’t decide to call it after this album, you can tell the social media scrutiny is stressing them. Yet they lose a core member for selfish reasons and still manage to realease their first Grammy nominated album. Continually put out quality pop punk even though out side of them it’s a dead genre(though it may not be “fun” enough for some) and this is all after some how staying relevant for 22 years and a band for 25. Arguably the most influential band of the late 90s-mid 2000s and we still treat them like they’re releasing they 2nd album and deserved to be scrutinized like they haven’t done it all already.. sorry for the rant, I’m passionate about the band and am tired of everything they do being shit on by a vocal minority.
RC Codes Hey. I made it clear that I liked the last record and do not want them to go back to what they were doing before AND this vid includes plenty of praise for Matt. I just think the songs are a bit flat and, in my defense, I blame the production far more than I do the songwriting.
Just heard it now. Think issue is the delivery of the singing. Seems like they are just going through motions. Like forced go into a room and you have to record something. The lyrics are just sung, rather than performed on the recording.
