Sit back and watch this beautiful piece in the making! I am in aweees with the results! So pretty!
Time to frame it and put if for sale!
***Safety is another topic I will be talking about soon in a video, but until then, I recommend everyone to wear a respirator, nitrile gloves, an apron or lab coat, and use resin in a separate room from the living areas and well ventilated so that your family members and pets don't breathe the paints and resin while it's curing.
Here is my respirator:

Beautiful ♥️♥️♥️Wow! 1. If i want to use a large canvas to hang on wall do I measure the usage of Inks and resin or just mix all randomly? 2. What was the heat gun for, are you heating up the resin for the Inks to dissolve? I’m new so I want to learn Ty so much ♥️ Oh wow the clear liquid dries in the mold. So for how long? My apologies I thought this was a pour onto a canvas! I love this technique How do you know what size frame? By the size of the mold used?

This is a lovely piece and would be wonderful framed without a mat or backing. I can see that some people might want to use something like this as a suncatcher, to hang in a window. My experience with alcohol inks is that they will fade in direct sunlight-even when the resin or varnish over the inks is UVA resistant. Can you add any comment about that/ what has been your experience with inks fading.
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 5 лет назад
Susan Blubaugh I personally never tried to make sun catchers but I did leave a bunch of petris close to sunlight in a sunny room in my house. One did change colours. It’s still beautiful because the burgundy/egg plant turned green and a shade of greed I usually don’t obtain with the inks I have. And I don’t mind it as it is. The pattern is maintained and all.. So some colours change over time, but I haven’t seen anything fade as turn very pale. It’s something to see after a longer period of time. Mine are in the sunny room for about 6 months. I do expect them to have some change in the future... just don’t know how much. :)

Apologies if you’ve answered this already - I did look for but did not find the question in the comments. Can you tell me if these pieces are heat resistant enough to have them serve as trivets or hotplates? Thank you - your work is just beautiful.
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 5 лет назад
Hi! That will depend on the resin you use!!! Also if you choose to make this with a different resin that goes on counter tops (which is a little more heat resistant) then your pattern will also change when you make your artwork. If you are in USA, I suggest to look into these resins: amzn.to/2AHDpSq and www.stonecoatcountertops.com/ Verify with them the heat resistance, but I think it's 500F...

THANK YOU, Ariana... for responding... my friends and I will be trying this next week... hope they look like yours!...we will be wearing respirator masks,working under the deck outside and leaving to dry in basement for a few days...do you think we could reuse the silicone pans for brownies or lasagna?... any additional advice for the blooms or movement other than blowing they the straw?... pls keep up the great work...Pamela
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 4 года назад
Additional tips: Test the same resin under different room temperatures. Also, you can play and drop the inks at different ''times'' into the resin. Like after 5min, 10min, 15min, 20min etc... and see how the ink behaves in the resin that is at different consistencies. If you have a chance, try different resins as well. You may get different results. If you don't want to use a straw, you can use an Air Gun. :) I would not reuse the silicone molds for anything else than art. Using it for resin, it compromises the silicone use after use. And I wouldn't risk cross contamination either. I also wear a full face mask now, it's much more bearable to play with this medium. Enjoy and have fun!

for those who want to use all the dyes in one go) it would be nice, but the end result is not what was done throughout the video. Didn't show what happened next. The final panel has exceptionally transparent edges. in the course of work, we tried to paint over them.

Are you talking about your own process here? Because it's weird that you are telling others what I have done. If you know anything about how the chemistry of resin actually works, you would know why the edges are clear. I have ZERO incentive to deceive the viewers or create false demonstrations. That is NOT who I am :) Thank you!

Beautiful on both sides. Put it in a frame with no back, like a floating frame, and hang it either way. :) Can I ask where you got the music from....it's beautiful and would love to have it on my phone.

First time watching. I saw that you don't recommend these being exposed to sunlight. I'd like to know your suggestions for what to do with a piece like this?

Hi! Unfortunately the alcohol inks aren't lightfast, means they will fade over time. Best is to keep the artwork away from direct sunlight (as any other art medium should as well because all colours will fade over time just in different timeframes and the sun can speed up the fading process). It is possible to buy a white frame that is 11''X14'' and frame this piece in it. I prefer my art framed and hanging on the walls. It's just more appealing to me than being used in other ways. :)

Another beautiful work.. Does light pass thru, as stained glass?

Hi Jerry, Thank you very much for your kind words. I honestly don't think that this one is any see-through as I added quite a lot of ink and the surface is quite opaque.

Stunning!! Hard to decide which side is my favorite! Quick question , approx what is the thickness of the epoxy? Please post picture when framed!!
@ArijanaLukic
@ArijanaLukic 6 лет назад
RodneysonBroadway I make mine thin. I don’t like them as a solid thick block. This one is 5mm thick and perfect to my point of view :) Also probably much easier to frame in a normal frame (I hope :-))

Question: Did you manipulate it in anyway... like putting someone in it to draw out the lines... or did you just let it do things on its own?
@ArijanaLukic

This piece isn't manipulated in any way. It's exactly done as the video shows. I know it's nice!

Wow! Turned out so pretty! Wondering, does adding the white between colors help to keep colors (like purple and yellow or orange together) from blending too much and becoming muddy?
@ArijanaLukic

Hmmm I usually know which colours do become muddy when mixed together. The white surely does help. The key is to really know your colours and what you mix together. You can buy a colour chart as a reference or just experiment and keep an eye on the results and note which ones turn out ok and which ones don't :) Experimentation and fun is key. I mostly play!
