On the blower trailer again this week and it’s another wet one. I have a split load to 2 different farms on my first load and the second load is an awkward load of blend
Hi Jemma. Another tip for you. If blowing into an open bay a couple of bags of feed set below and above the pipe will keep it steady without having to hold it yourself. cheers
If the mechanics at your company makes sure the surfaces on the rims and wheel hub are clean before mounting the wheels, and you torque each wheel twice, a retorque isn’t necessary. In my 27 years career as a truck mechanic we’ve never experienced wheels loosening. Only a small fraction of our customers demand a retorque. But in general it’s too much of a bother for the customer to come back for a retorque. Thank you for your videos. You explain your day of work in a calm and informative way.
Great video Jem! What a beastly job when it's raining 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️ you get to see some really nice places and stunning countryside on your travels though 👌 that last bit made me chuckle (it's proper raining outside) 😂
Excellent video, showing trucking, warts and all its not all shiny chrome and bling, when delivering to farms, there needs to be more facilities for truck drivers to have a shower and meals etc
Hi Jemma love it's mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍 just been watching your RU-vid video on spilt loads you did. Jemma you done really really well with the two split loads in two different farms love don't worry about it love and yes i know it was a very very long day you had and i appreciate what you did love. And i really really hope that your boss appreciate's all your hard work every day of week. But another fantastic RU-vid video and cannot wait for your next RU-vid video or videos and keep up the great work Jemma your doing a fantastic job everytime love 👍👍 thanks from mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍👍
First video of yours I’ve watched, good stuff. Local area to me, I’m 5 minutes down the road from Rich’s Cider. And sod driving a lorry through Wedmore! Well done lass
Just think how many drivers would do you’re day and be handing there notice in next day but we don’t we get up next morning having forgot about the bad day yesterday 👍
Hi Jemma another enjoyable vid as always, it was nice to see how the split loading was done and despite the hassles with the last load at least you managed to get sort of clean afterwards, anyway hope the rest of the week was better and you have a good weekend and stay safe.
Hope your week got better Jemma,I have had a week like that too 4x12 hours shifts and every thing that could go wrong went wrong. Stay safe see you next vlog
Really loving your videos, only found them a couple of weeks ago. It is a tough way to make a living but you always have a smile and a positive attitude. Silly question, when you are being loaded by a tractor does the operator have a camera on the bucket so he can see where the product is going in the compartment? Hope you have a good week. Looking forward to your next video.
Hi jemma, Have you ever thought of a shower tent on the walkway between trailer n truck? Bit like the austrailian camping showers. I met a lady driver years ago who had a similar set up, with bits of old curtain she hung between cab n headboard.
I'm still in awe of all tight roads and farms that you are able to navigate. Just a quick question: What is it that you are saying? I'm hearing: lift the body up about a RAM and a half ???
Hi Jemma, What a marvellous insight you provide to your working week. It seems you do have to work really hard - I hope you are sufficiently rewarded for all your hard work.
I must admit.....When I saw the title and the thumbnail I wasn't sure that I was going to watch, but wasn't disappointed either Jemma...lol. You're a star. x
Jemma, you never disappoint in your work, the dedication, you show is on point. I felt for you getting dirty and that goes with the job , but you soldier on . Those lanes you go thro and small villages are pretty, keep up the videos .
just found your channel in the last couple of days and really enjoying the content. showing every part of the job and all the little quirks is really interesting, its not just driving from A to B, filling up with different material, weighing, sampling, working out driving hours, amazing. more young women should get into this job and earn themselves a decent wage and independence rather than hairdressing etc where the wages can be pretty low, its also a job they can go back to if they decide to have children
My My What a day Jemma,I see you cab is your office, kitchen,,bedroom, radio room, your boss must be chuffed with you, as you and I have the same accent you are easy to follow, can you wear those paper overalls when blowing, I bet you slept well that night. thanks for all your Vids, very entertaining , stay safe Gal blessings.
Well done Gemma a great video and I feel your pain after a very hard day. I was always on bulk work but never did any bulk blowing thankfully. You probably need to get some of those disposable white overalls for wet dusty days I imagine the mills your working out of would give you a few to keep in the locker thanks again.
Absolutely Gorgeous hard working lady , that keeps the country ticking over , you deserve a medal for what you do , very much appreciated , fantastic content ❤ keep trucking Jemma 😊
This was indeed a difficult day with the rain and the dust. I can imagine that these days are not your favourites. The little villages are pretty amazing in this video, lovely and quiet places. The lanes are also very nifty, although the low hanging tree branches can be dangerous to your truck. I really enjoy these blower loads, the process is interesting. Another super vlog Jemma. You're a true professional, the pride of your employer and the industry too. 🥰🤗
Great video like I said before it's a highly skilled job on thease even worse when you get to a farm and he wants it in 5 bins etc even worse when you have medicine in some feed and none in another etc and it all has to be kept apart great video 👍
First of your blogs I have seen. Hugely impressed with your positive approach, dedication to the job and skill to execute it. I ran a fleet of blowers in the early 80’s including 6 wheelers delivering animal feed because the farms were so small to access. Little seems to have changed with the efforts you had to make to access the delivery points with that monster truck. 10 out of 10 👏👏👏
Hi Jemma another awesome video thanks, you sure get to see some beautiful places and scenery when you are out on your deliveries. You sure get a work out throwing those pipes about thanks again take care and stay safe 👍 😊.
Good days work, done a good job. We used to get bulk blowers on our farm supplying chicken food. Nice to get an insight into the bits of the job we didn't see. I always used to help the driver with the pipes and they'd always get the offer of tea and cake. We always look after drivers on our site. Nice to see you closing those gates too. Not everyone thinks like that.
I always love your videos Jem and fair play for getting your truck through Blackford to do your first tip, as it’s bad enough in a car sometimes, as is Wedmore (where I live). It sucks that you didn’t have anywhere to have a shower though, as feed is dusty and stinks! Looking forward to your next video.
Thanks for sharing this insight into your job. It never occurred to me that not only do you need to take things from A to B but you need to also understand the clients you are delivering to. The consideration you gave like making sure the gates were shut and trying to go as fast as you could were little touches that not everyone would know. 👏👏👏
Well done Jemma, you did a cracking job that day, I used to drive a feed lorry for Paul’s feeds and blowing loads is not easy at all. Keep up the good work. 😊
Another interesting vlog. Have you got a stone chip in your windscreen as there’s a dot on the forward facing view? Nice to see your not one of driver that misjudge the bridge coming into my home city 😁
Hi Jemma as a blower driver of over 20 years I would suggest when blowing meal or blend as you call it keep the engine revs down to about 1100 rpm possibly a little lower don’t tip the body up too high and have the auger turning very slowly. So as the feed just runs into the rotary feeder. Hope this helps you, take care Greatly video 👍
@@phillylarkin.s1930 How does it work now , I'd like to know. Is it gravity on auger or blown out .I see she has a sheet on the trailer , I'm assuming it is gravity on to an auger .
When blowing blend it's best to leave the body down until it runs dry of product.Start to lift it really slowly to get a good flow of product down to the auger which you need on all the time with most blends due to the molasses content. If I delivered blend 1st drop and it was loaded the night before it could be difficult to unload due to it bridging at the rear. The rubber mallet would be out and you would have to go around the rear end tapping the body with it.
I used to drive blower trucks. Fail to understand why you're not wearing a slip on set of overalls. You carry all the crap on your clothes back into the truck. Ive had to deal with blocked pipes, dismantling, and id have been a right mess dressed in shorts etc. It looks almost like you wear the shorts to thrill the guys watching, would hope im wrong. In blower game no such thing as rushing, or quickly. It'll bite you back hard, especially in my field in north america at 44000 kg of product to blow at a time.
To be fair there was a car parked by the bin.She is delivering for the company I used to work for and even with one pipe to the bin that blend takes ages at that farm.
I must admit the part about "insisting" on the shorts in rain and dust just for the likes, did also cross my mind. As a woman, I would not do that delivery in shorts, it's getting one too dirty.
I really felt for you in this vlog. We’ve all had days like that when nothing goes right and you’re stuck in the cab, sweaty, dirty and pee’d off 😢 Hopefully by now the sun is shining and your smiling and trucking about having a better day x
Hi Jemma I didn’t realise how much you tippers drivers worked so hard , I also thought they just lifted and tipped the load and drove off , you definitely work so hard and well done for the good videos , keep on trucking 👍
Omg it's just not worth it, I work for Warrens culina now just such an easier life than farm work I did for 10 years, mostly collecting for Muller products and spuds for walkers crisps. Tramping is ok in Europe but UK no thanks.
Hi, I am a Canadian. Doin my trucking long haul from Toronto to California runs on Semi truck and 53 trailer. I want to move to UK . Mind if you guide me if my AZ class 1 driving licensee is acceptable in UK. If yes, what are possibilities of getting jobs. I wait for your kind reply. tks
Hello jemma,Holly molly,I had no word to said,it that nothing you can't do oh my gosh..you're one of a million, you're are amazing, jolly good job..easy does it,hope you enjoy your day 😊 I'm really proud of you 👏 I'm grateful for your wonderful vlog ❤️ 👒hats off to you ❤️
Hello Jemma - I really admire what you do. We consumers have no idea how food stuff travels around the country and it's a real eye-opener. PS watching you drive down those narrow lanes is hair-raising but my goodness you're a good driver. PPS could you get some of those white light weight overalls you could slip on when the work is dusty?
I know nothing of trucking, aside from I like trucking, I like trucking and I like to truck, but, just asking because I don't know, if you have wet clothes, and you're parked up with an empty trailer, can you not hang the clothes in the trailer overnight? In fact, thinking it through, could you not sorta pop into the trailer with a big bottle of water, some soap, towels, and sort all that out away from pryin' eyes? I get it'd be cold often, mind...
