This is a video showcasing my first shoot with the Fujifilm XE4 & the new XF Fujinon 27mm F/2.8 WR Mark II. Going to make a full review once I get to use this combo some more. Video portion was filmed on the X-T4 + XF 16mm f/1.4. Graded in Davinci Resolve.

You gotta appreciate this guy's approach to photography. He doesn't complain about not having the best low light lens or camera. Instead he finds the way ,shoot and create honest photography and art . Limitations and boundaries are great for creativity. Go out there like this guy and create ,stop spending money and waiting for the right "camera/lens". Respect man🙏🏽

some of these shots gave me major cinestill vibes! Been wanting an effect like this on my digital cameras and I notice you are using a glimmerglass filter. Do you have any experience with black promist? If so, how would you say they compare/ what made you choose glimmerglass instead? Would love to get your feedback as I have not seen many people talking about this. Also, great video!

I love cinestill colors! & This was actually my first time shooting without a filter. I’ve used both the black pro mist and glimmer glass, & to me they do exactly the same thing(soften the image, and bloom the highlights). The only difference is that glimmer glass adds an extra sparkle to the image. It’s this shiny texture that you will notice once you start using it. I prefer it because it gives a different look compared to most diffusion filters, it’s give the image a nice paint-like texture. You should also note that the pro mist is a lot stronger, so a black pro mist 1/4 would be the equivalent to a glimmer glass 1/2-1. Another great video! You are one of the few channels to which I'm subscribed. The photo at 2:30 has a very Edward Hopper look to it, both in composition and color palette. Hey! The grain is added in post production. I add grain to my video in davinci resolve & add grain to my photos through Lightroom. If you need specific help feel free to reach out to me, but be on the look out for a future video on this! 👍

I love the colours! What were your film simulation settings if you don’t mind me asking? And up to what ISO?

Thank you! I usually use classic neg, but these were all raw edited in Lightroom. My iso was at 1600-3600 the whole night. Which gives a little bit of grain but nothing too crazy, I like to add grain in myself afterwards anyways. I’ll send you on IG what I used to edit these photos! Appreciate you watching!

i feel that that 27 mm lens does a good tradeoff between wide angle and a bit more natural perspective and your blurrying out of finer details explains why you used F/2.8 in blue hour although you had the option of going with a wider aperture. Also i was wondering how come there is a transition from a wider field of view to narrower with the same lens in video to pics it was not until i read the description that you used another cam for video, great job

In post! I shot at 3600 iso & it was somewhat grainy. Very little & small but still noticeable. I’ll make sure to showcase the grain performance of this camera in a later video for you, thanks for watching :)

The grain setting is quite useful, you can use it to "replace" ISO noise. The X-E4 has the addition of "small" and "large" grain and can be used with the "strong" and "weak" settings. It is an improvement over the X-E3 which only had strong/weak.

Serr, congratulations on your X-E4 & 27mm lens. You seems to acquit your shots quite well with this focal length. I usually shoot with my X-E3 with the original 27mm in classic chrome & the color rendering is addictive. Tho, I have not tried adding grains in my setting. Thank you for sharing. Perhaps I’ll run into you one day/night in the streets of LA.

Very nice set! I just received the E-X4 myself, and already love it. I had thoughts of lack of one dial, but I adapted very easily to use one wheel for both ISO and shutter speed. Have you tried just going full jpg, with tweaked simulations/settings in camera? I usually edit raw for most work, but I really like what can be achieved straight ou of camera. Loved this video, with a perfect track to it. Subscribed an looking forward for more inspiration from you.

Yea the lack of dials hasn’t been much of an issue for me. I usually only use tweaked simulations when I’m snapping everyday life photos, family/friends. I use a tweaked classic negative film simulation for that & really enjoy not having to edit the jpgs. But for street photography and professional work there’s a very distinct look I like going for & I haven’t been able to replicate it with film simulations. Appreciate the kind words!

For sure. The image quality is perfect for it. The only thing I would say is that this camera is hella small so if you got a big lens on it you’re gonna have to hold it by the lens unless you got a grip! I’m gonna drop a video sometime soon where I use it for an engagement portrait shoot.
