Key Lime Pie Recipe
1 1/2 cups Graham cracker crumbs
1/3 cup sugar
6 T. melted butter
makes a 9 to 9.5 Pie
2 14 oz. cans sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup sour cream
3/4 cup Key Lime juice
zest of one Lime
3 egg yolks
8 oz. heavy whipping cream
1/4 to 1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
375 for crust 5 min.
350 for Pie 10 min.
8 inch Pie recipe
1 14 oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1/4 cup sour cream
1/2 cup Key Lime juice
2 egg yolks
zest
1 cup Graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
4 T. melted butter
makes 8 inch pie
Cook crust 5 min
Cook Pie 7 min
or till no longer jiggly

Have not had key lime pie since my husband passed he was made them an a fantastic lemon cake .He loved to cook on his days off so the kitchen was his then😂❤ miss him so much.

Call me crazy, but I'm so glad to see you scape the bowl so clean. My mama taught all us kids that when we cook to scrape it clean and not to waste a drop! Some of the "big name cooks" pour stuff in and leave so much in the bowl....mama would call it wasting food!

@@sharonmandelious2552Google recipes. They use graham flour. Amazon (USA) has store bought graham crackers. I like the ones that have cinnamon in them to use for a crust.

It's not everyday that you hear "put it in a bag and beat the tar out of it" as part of a recipe but hey...it works for me! Key lime pie is the best thing in the world...well, maybe right after banana cream...or maybe coconut cream...or pecan...or...no...it's key lime! I would love to see you do a chocolate delight dessert. I love those. Also, some kind of vanilla candy. My aunt used to do something she called "taffy" but it got hard after you pulled it and she broke it up into pieces. It was the best tasting stuff ever but I don't have the recipe. I'll bet you've got a good one! God Bless!

Florida girl here...key lime pic is Florida's famous pie. Made it tons of time but never heard of sour cream in it. I always have key lime on the thanksgiving table. A teacher I worked with had a tree and always shared key limes. They are small round limes. Love the tartness. Thanks miss lori!

Great recipe, Miss Lori ! Love your channel! FYI, if you can't get key limes or key lime juice, substitute 1/4 of the regular lime juice for orange juice and you get pretty close to the taste of key limes.

That juice is totally awesome. Even living here in Florida , key limes are not easy to come by depending where you live. Besides being smaller than regular limes juicing them is a tedious process. There is a shop in Key West that sells key lime pie slices .I'll take a slice to go anytime along with my cuban sandwich!!

The local supermarkets in my area carry that brand of key lime juice. It's usually on the same shelf with cocktail mixers rather than with the other brand of lime juice. Love key lime pie and will be making this for the Thanksgiving dessert table.

I’m glad Ms. Brown said he could taste the key lime tang. I was concerned with all that sugar in the sweetened milk! I love a tart citrus bite. I think the addition of sour cream was a good idea. Looks like a pie I might be able to make, since I’m not much of a pie maker. I do love my mixed berry pie,with very little sugar…so good. I need to learn how to make a pie crust😱😸

Using glass bowl & beaters that have been in the freezer and sifting the powdered sugar really makes the best homemade whipped cream. That’s the way my mama taught me to do and it’s just really good! 😊

Once a year we have key-limes here in NY. Juicing them is not easy. But worth it. And I actually like a pastry crust with it. My dad once sent me home a key lime pie from Florida on my birthday. Love key lime pies.

I grew some key limes. I have to take my citrus in and out of the house l, but it is worth it. I did make a pie! So good. They were small enough to put it in a garlic press to squeeze out the juice. So good. Citrus is hard to keep alive in KY during the winter!

I love Keylime Pie! I've made them before but never put sour creams in it! I'm definitely going to try your Recipe Miss Lori! I could have stuck my face in that pie and started eating! Lol. It would have been hard to not take a spoon and eat the filling right out of the bowl! I want to order the Keylime Juice and hope I get it before Thanksgiving! As a native Floridian, that juice is the way to go. You DO NOT want to juice key limes from scratch as they are the size of half dollars lol. You’re lucky if you get a teaspoon out of each key lime. Let Nellie Jo do the work for you 😉

Hey Miss Lori, I'm with you on the Graham cracker crust! I just watched a show with a woman trying all different kinds of Key Lime pies. I'm glad Amazon has the juice. She said the hurricanes where making it hard to find the fresh fruit outside of Keys. Also they don't ship them because they are highly perishable😢. So delicious, YumO 🎉! Hi too Mr Brown 👋🤗😘. That looks delish. Key lime season here in Florida is between June and Sept. They are sooooo expensive!! I have never purchased them. They grow in Mexico year round. Maybe they are cheaper out west. Walmart has them on line, but they have terrible reviews.
