Beautiful song beautiful lyrics!! Awwww look at Rory and Nala, she's making you happy soooo nice!! Adorable!! 😊💓🤘✌️ Love his vocals 🔥 Thank You Rory and thank you Todd that was amazing!
I can’t get over the mature, deep, rich, soulful voice. It’s beautiful and flawless. Man, I miss the authenticity in old music. You can just feel exactly who this person is just by his voice.
I am so lucky to say I saw them at the very beginning. At the U of T student auditorium in 1987. They were so, so, so good and have just grown to be the one of our best bands ever.
Thanks for your reaction to this song and this band. It was great to hear the songwriter's intro and outro to this song. If the Blue Rodeo could be both accurate and misleading at the same time, depending on a person's preconceptions, give a listen to the band Cowboy Junkies doing a song like "Sweet Jane" and "Misguided Angel". Look forward to your next reaction.
They've been a song writing duo since the early '80s, when both moved to ew York to try to make their bones in the punk rock scene, with a band they called Fly to France.
And, as someone already commented in the first reaction, they are generally known as Canada's Lennon and McCartney - except that they're still close friends and writing songs together 40 years on!
As you like BR, check out Cowboy Junkies and their hit Misguided Angel and Sweet Jane. Their debut album, the Trinity Sessions, was actually recorded in Holy Trinity Church in Toronto - great acoustics.
I would strongly recommend that you listen to the original studio version from the album Outskirts. The tempo is slower and the keyboard work really helps make the song.
Fun Fact: Terry Brown produced this song, and the rest of Blue Rodeo's 1987 debut album, Outskirts. If the name sounds familiar, that would be the same legendary producer, Terry Brown, who produced ever single Rush album between 1975 (Fly by Night) and Signals (1982).
