I live in Corpus Christi TX, and Ian came down from Austin to do a free outdoor concert at our Cole Park Amptheater by the bayfront. He played this song, and people were literally going apeshit, man what a sultry voice this guy had. For those of you who appreciate great music like this and never heard of him-get his self titled album. It is probably one of my all time favorite albums from any artist
***** Well I wouldn't say that. Ian was getting recognition about the the time "muddy jesus" came out- I remember they had him doing TV commercials with lightning bolts shooting from his guitar. But what i heard it was too much for him. Nonstop touring, press conferences, interviews galore, fans and autographs. I read that it was getting to him so he decided it wasn't his cup a tea that is when he moved from Austin to Seattle. He still lives and plays there, but it's low key

Saw Ian Moore many times in Austin, now in Okc have seen his acoustic concert, his electric set. 2 shows pretty close together, both were awaome, my favorite shows of 2024. Go See Ian Moore. Back in '91 I was in the US Army and was in TX. I was young and as a "sometimes" drummer and musician went to a bar in Austin to see Ian Moore because we were told he was amazing. He came out with "Nothing" and then went to "Harlem". I didn't own the CD at the time so I didn't know the songs. I was blown away and pissed at the same time. I was like; "wait, dude can sing, play the guitar like nobodies business AND he's good looking . . . HELL NO! You don't get all that . . . !!!" I wanted to dislike this dude but he was so damn good! Today, at 53 with my mother gone from this earth this song and his passionate delivery means so much more to me and I wish we had more music like this. Damn . . . I miss cats like this and what they could deliver. God Bless you Mr. Moore and thank you.
I was at this show and miss this version of Ian like you can't know. Saw him probably 30 times in the late 80's and early 90's and was one of my favorite musicians then.
I got his self-titled album back in 1993. KTYD (Santa Barbara) played "How Does It Feel" a lot that summer and I remember that he was playing somewhere in Ventura. A friend of mine and I drove from Santa Barbara to go hear him play, not realizing it was at a bar (there were no websites back then!!). I was 19 and he was 20, so we couldn't get in to hear him play. So, we drove the 50 miles back home empty-handed, so to speak. It was a huge bummer. Never did get to hear him play live, but I'm glad some of his performances are here to enjoy.
I was a die-hard grunger from in Seattle in the early 90's boom but I saw this era of Ian while I visiting a friend in Austin - absolutely blew me away. Still one of my favorite bands from the 90's. Miss it.
He sure was something at de la Luna. Growing up in austin I count myself lucky to have had all these musicians so close to the community. Really was a source of pride for many years😊
One of my personal ALL TIME FAVORITE performances!! Period. "This" Ian Moore was the genuine article, folks!! I would put his guitar playing and singing and all around BAD ASSness up against anybody!! Thanks so much for posting this. I have almost wore out my VHS copy of this concert over the years!!
Man we miss Ian in Austin. Saw him many times and he was brilliant every time. Wish he would come home....last I heard, he went fishing in Washington state and never returned.
I saw Ian many years ago in the middle of winter at The Ranch Bowl in Omaha NE with a broken leg. It was the first and last time I saw him live. It made me go out the next day and buy all of his albums. No other artist has moved me to do so before or since. He is able to project such a wealth of "feel" that will touch your soul in such a way you will be hard-set to find again. Rock on Ian
I remember those days well! Ian has his on sound then and now. Know where in the world have i heard or mixed his sound up with another musician, the reason why is because he is a artist.
Saw him at a little club in San Antonio back in 94. He said they were going to blow the roof off the place and he didn't disappoint. Crazy talent. I kinda feel bad that I'm still listening to his debut album at least once a week in 2018 but it's just that damn good.
Saw him at Trees in Deep Ellum back when he was performing like this and man, that was one of the best shows I have ever seen! Saw Kenny Wayne Sheppard the same night and Ian put on a way better show.
Haven't been out of Texas in about twenty years. Too damn much to see and hear here, and not enough time! I'm glad that my boys Chris Duarte and Hadden Sayers get to travel and entertain at different venues and for great fans, though. Wish it was like it used to be before gas prices got stupid...
I have opened up for Ian recently and he plays now as a trio known as the Lossy Coils and does a lot of new and old stuff. But he is also playing with his original line up you see in thus video. He did a summer tour last year with about 8-10 dates it was awesome. The original line up just played recently blues fest with Jimmy Vaighan and Robert Cray. Original line up will be at Ziegfest in Corpus Christi, TX on Oct. 6, 2012. They are playing a lot together. He's also the nicest person to talk to

I heard the story of Ian Moore telling SRV one time in Austin in the late 80's that everyone was saying that he reminded people of SRV. SRV's response was you just keep trying.
You heard wrong. Neither of those guys would say that. Ian was just one of the guys around town. Stevie too for a minute, until he really blew up. Then he wasn't around so much. Both of those guys were humble as they come. Ian eventually moved up to Seattle so he was gone too.
@Musicdog1973 - Agree 1000% , there was magic in their live performances. It was special to see them live. Going to see the original Ian Moore Band live in Dallas in a couple weeks on their reunion tour.
You rarely see Ian play a Strat with a Strat neck…he’s the reason I’ve built a couple of Strats with Tele necks ..I love that combo because I’ve always liked a Tele neck but didn’t care for the sound..
He was so awesome back then before he thought it would be a good idea and completely change his sound and playing….no it was not a good idea 👎🏼👎🏼 which is why he is back to playing the old stuff along with some great new songs…👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
i have to add that any missed festival he played, esp in the pouring rain, are times missed out. i have no recollection of how many times i saw him play, but i do know it wasn't enough.
I got to open up for Ian, cool dude. His voice is amazing. Modern-day Folklore is killer. What happened to him I dont know, it seems hes trying to hard to be a folk singer/songwriter.
Only 19K + views and crappy bands today get millions... I guess that's fortunate, though, because some "musicians" (term used loosely..) today can't carry a freaking tune live anyway.
