Just to clear up any confusion, at 5:47 when I mentioned that you can take a single battery module and use it independently from the rest of the system. That is for DC or USB loads only... And you would need to get a small AC inverter with a cigarette lighter adapter to use AC appliances...

What a great video! Bonus points for the mother-in-law hug and your display of flexibility in the small hatchback, lol. I don't think you missed anything and I totally agree with you on the Inverter shut-off and push notifications. I hope in the future they get some solar panels for even more peace of mind.

I have been using my AC300 system (2 inverters and 6 batteries for the US split phase) for over a year now, running it every day to greatly reduce my power bill. I have it charging from a 6kw panel array. It is set up to run most of my house except the dryer and water heater. It has worked seamlessly and i have no complaints. I actually prefer that the system cannot be manipulated by wi fi as i feel a hacker messing with my system is a growing threat with everything being connected it makes a more tempting target for hackers anymore. Good video showing just how this can work, looking forward to seeing how you add panels to the setup.

Can't wait to see the solar implementation for this setup when you have time to add it. Very interested to see how long they can sustain energy independence with just this unit. 500W+ of continuous usage could save a boat load of money.

If I lived in Texas or California, I would have this system. I have smaller battery back ups at my house, but there are places in the US where you just can’t count on the electricity during an emergency anymore. Sometimes it’s natural disasters. Sometimes it’s utility company incompetence. Whatever the reason, if you can’t rely on them you just can’t and you should make alternative plans. Even if it’s a tiny car battery and a pure sine wave inverter.

Awesome video once again! I've got a lot of numbers to crunch to determine which path is more optimal for my situation. I like the modularity of the system presented, but I'd love it even more if the cabling for additional packs was more compact (right-angle connections or something to that regard), but I know a custom setup could be even more compact and possibly more energy-dense depending on the chemistry chosen... Kind of curious if you built the truck again today what your opinion would be? In fact, one thing I do love about some of the full-time channels I've watched in the past is when they particularly point out their own failures, misconceptions, struggles and how they'd re-approach if knowing what they know now. Kind of a rare video to see, but it's usually one of the most informative perspectives.

What difference if we recharge the battery from grid at 230V 3A vs. 230V 13A, from technical point of view? May I expect the loss of battery charge /internal usage to be reduced more with grid connection in stand-by (no recharge) in either 3A or 13A, always from technical point of view?

LiFePO4 (which encompasses nearly every power station sold today, it’s just the applications with limited space that need NMC/NCA/LCO chemistries) is extremely safe. It won’t combust without an external spark, at worst it’ll just vent…granted those gases aren’t something you want to stand over and inhale. Energy density doesn’t seem to really be improving for LiFePO4, I think it peaks around 150wh/kg whereas the more “dangerous” chemistries are pushing 300wh/kg at most. And I only say dangerous because if they exceed 100 Celsius they’ll likely be headed to 250 Celsius which is thermal runaway territory. Lithium Titanate Oxide is 10k to 20k cycles with absolutely zero chance of any combustion or explosion but it’s energy density is even worse than LiFePO4 but not by too much. Problem is LTO is fairly expensive. Solid state hasn’t really been proven commercially. It’s between solid state and sodium ion but until those are any kind of mass commercialization (price/energy density/etc) then we truly won’t know. As it stands right now LCO/NMC are going to be the winners for power/energy density, LiFePO4 will win for safe energy storage and LTO will win for outright safety, cycle life and power (10C charge discharge typically meaning 6 minute charge and discharge times are possible)

Ok, I will answer in another way... Page 12 of the user manual shows 2 PV inputs in the very clear diagrams... It also clearly states: PV Charging - AC500 supports dual PV input with the DC input cable. Connect the solar panels (in series or parallel) to AC500 and CHECK the PV connection on LCD screen. Note: Please make sure your solar panels at each input comply with: OCV: 12-150V 3 Vmp: 12-150V Power: 1500W Max. E.g. Connect the solar panels in series to DC1 or DC2. Voc=46.5V Vmp=37.5V Current=9.2A Max. Total: Voc=46.5×3=139.5V Vmp=37.5×3=112.5V Current=9.2A Max.

Top tier advertising when you don't just brag about the fearures, you dig into detail about the things you would want to improve. Best thing is they could fix most of those concerns with a software and app update in the future.

It's largely dependent on the situation, in this case I have a primo capsule embedded in the brim of the hat, and you can sometimes see the 32-bit float recorder clipped on the back of the hat. I've also had many of my shirts modified to have a hidden compartment to conceal the microphone and windscreen.. otherwise it gets taped to the sternum.
