I always find it hard to preflight at the field. Everyone wants to talk when I have work to do lol. Very impressive to see this knowledge flowing out of this young woman. Great job

Super video, great demonstration of a full pre-flight check of your heli! On a heli range check though I would always recommend testing edge on orientations too, a 3D pilot won't purely be flying with the model upright, and even aerobatic moves like loops or stall turns will involve angles which may put the body of the model in front of your antenna. So it's always worth testing skids in, skids out, skids left and right in addition to rotating the model around the 4 core upright orientations. And do have the assistant keep an eye on the servo movement during transitions between these as in-between orientations can also mask signal at times. There's a lot of carbon on a modern heli, which is the Achilles' heel of 2.4Ghz antenna, and I've seen a lot of crashes over the years caused by poor antenna placement.

That's exactly what Summer does at the 11:00 minute video mark as part of her range test.

@@TinmanRC_Official No, they rotate the model sideways, but don't actually tip it on its edge and test blades in or skids in orientations, or any of the in-between angles. If you fly 3D, it's important to test a broad range of 3D orientations during your range check to ensure the are no angles where the body of the model occludes all your antenna. It also helps catch issues with one of your two antenna, as they should be oriented at 90° to each other and that may mean one is vertical with weak signal up and down. On this Heli it seems her antenna are all on the top of the model, just above the swash plate, so signal could well be weaker when the skids are towards the pilot. It's important to do a range test in that orientation.
