Why did you stop making tutorial videos? Please continue, it's helping me a lot. Primarily missile launch missions.

They really need to replace those big explodey launchers with a tank column.. BUT until that happens, this is a fun TE to practice AG strafing. The massive fireball is very satisfying.

Very good video Stevie! It’d be great to see you use WDP to setup your kneeboards prior to the flight. I’m having a little difficult pulling it off and having it setup like yours for these missions. Thanks!

Thanks! Here is a great video by Fish on how to customize the kneeboard with WDP: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DFZyDA1TCmc.html

Here I'm just pressing the buttons on the keyboard. But there are several good BMS profiles for "VoiceAttack", or even free solutions like "FoxVox".

How do You even get this right kneeboard information along with the map?
@steviesgames

You can change the kneeboard with Weapon Delivery Planner www.weapondeliveryplanner.nl It's an extremely useful tool, I use it all the time.

Thanks! Right now I'm just smashing the buttons, but I used to use VoiceAttack with the VeteransGaming profile.

I like using VIS mode for boresighting: I don't have to concern myself with setting a bore-sighting steerpoint to nav enroute to the target, or if I botch the boresight, I can just fly toward any some other piece of usable man-made structure to sight on. Can I ask a favor, Stevie: In the next TE you create, would you put down a *South PPT,* and then open up the TE in *WDP?* I'm curious to know if you find when you look at the _map_ in *WDP* you also see the *South PPT* has a threat circle around it. I'm wondering what is causing _that_ PPT to have a threat circle, when the other cardinal PPTs don't have that issue, and nothing in _ppt.ini_ is causing *South* to have a threat circle.
@steviesgames
@steviesgames 2 года назад
That's a great idea, I'll definitely will try boresighting in VIS mode! For impromptu boresighting without a dedicated steerpoint I usually find some town with the FCR, and boresight on one of the buildings at the edge. I set all my ppts in the 2D screen, but I'll have a look at the "south" ppt thing with WDP.

with 4.35 are there still any add-on cockpits for the f-16 that are worth downloading to replace the default one?
@steviesgames
@steviesgames 2 года назад
I don't know about add-on cockpits, but there is a high res texture mod, found here: forum.falcon-bms.com/topic/21249/8k-texture-enhancement-for-f-16-block-50-bms-4-35-u3

Basically... AGM-65's are great if you have no enemy air or SAM threats, otherwise they are nothing but overprice rockets. At least that is how I always end up using them, since best I can do is not to exceed their 4G or I guess thats 7 G according to this video limit, if I heard that correctly. How someone can perform effective countermeasure manuevers without exceeding 30° bank, or 30° per second roll rate is beyond me.
@steviesgames
@steviesgames Год назад
That 30° bank and roll rate applies to the launching of the missile, not the transport :) And not over-g-ing them on the way to delivery is totally doable, if your gentle on your stick, and you don't get merged. IMHO Mavericks are fun. Creeping in NOE for a popup attack on double digit SAM or a high value target is just awesome :) Like here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ntr18cnm4EU.html

I’ve gotta ask (I’m sure it’s been before) what’s the pros/cons vs DCS?
@jpatty5473
@jpatty5473 2 года назад
I can answer this one, as i am playing BMS rn (but i also spend most of my time in DCS). Pros; Cost $5. entire game. vs. $80 for the DCS F-16 module only, full fidelity F-16, no bugs, different variants, more weapons, game comes with a lot of added guides and documentation that you don't have to search for (like DCS), Alternative launcher & Weapons delivery planner to add all info to your jet via data cartridge. (easy to customize kneeboard per each mission etc.) Cons - graphics. they aren't good. the F16 looks good but the outside world and animations not so much. Think of BMS as more a F16 procedural trainer than a real modern sim at this point. DCS has competitive multiplayer , more planes, great graphics etc. I wouldn't be happy playing only BMS, but it's a good intro to the F16, and i will end up buying the DCS F16 anyways.

I have followed both through the years, since Su 27 Flanker 2.5 anyway. Then it became Lock on Modern Air Combat, then Flameing Cliffs 1&2 and so on. Falcon 4.0 was always a simulator, while DCS was a bit arcade-ish simulator in my book, until they released the A-10 addon for Flaiming Cliffs, which cost more than the game itself. Even now its very eye candy intensive, and you pay for it thats for sure, someone has to model all those models to make them look so good. As for Falcon BMS they are still using the same old Falcon 4.0 code from the 90's, and it is done by enthusiasts like a hobby, which says alot. I must say it is impressive to say the least, but then everything done by volunteer enthusiats tends to become that way, even without funding. Sure there are glitches, but that has more to do with modern multy core processors than anything. So one is a well funded enterprize, with lots of people working on it at least 40 hours a week, while the other is a spare time, old game left behind by its owners, that still get the 5 bucks to download the original game, but its not actually a mod. That is why I still donated to Benchmark Sims, why not. I like them both, but If you play BMS, the best thing you can do for glitches is restart each and every time you exit 3D, meaning restart the game after every mission, and play with triple buffering OFF... And clouds for some reason tend to slow it a bit. Best thing is a fast single processor system, since the game loads in a linear fashion, which was better for single core processors. That is why you need to restart the game each time you go to and from 3D environment. Sorry for rambleing on about it, but like I said I still play both, especially since BMS is free so why not download the latest update? LOL
