BMW’s iX40. Will you want this EV SUV?

Just as a comparison I've been regularly getting 350-400 miles on my iX50.

Ridiculous comparison, it’s almost the same as comparing a Nissan leaf to the model Y, they appeal to very different buyers with different budgets etc, can’t believe for an instant that anyone considering ETron, EQE/S out and IX would venture near let alone shortlist a model 3 or Y

@@garytheobald9538 Look at buying an EV and does not have a Tesla on their short list 🤡 If anyone spends $40-50k on an EV, and doesnt check and compare range, performance and energy efficiency they are a fool imho. And no frunk on an EV is a huge red flag to poor design and engineering.

The EQE is a saloon though. -Good luck loading that up as you can with an SUV.

Think the Germans are in a different stratosphere in terms of image, prestige and quality, i believe the ix is a model x rival the model y is more a rival to a mustang

Glad you like your Model Y but you cannot compare it with the iX in terms of materials, sound etc. The iX feels like a Bentley inside. I dare say even the iX3 has a classier interior than the Y but since I put my money on it I must be biased😂

@@garytheobald9538 But how does 'image, prestige and (perceived) quality' stand up against the far superior, range, efficiency, software competency and charging network of a Tesla? Both BMW and the VW Group cars are way behind Tesla on those areas where it really matters. I've owned prestige German cars and have to see that the 'quality' in terms of engineering and reliability are more perceived than actual. Sure, my BMW 5 series back in early 2000s was a joy to drive but the cost of running the thing and its unreliability were something I wouldn't touch with a barge pole now that I'm retired. In my experience the most reliable cars were always Japanese (Toyotas, Mitsubishi, Mazda)...and I've owned cars in harsh environments in the Middle East where I worked for a while..you have to know cars will keep working. Now I am 4 years and 50,000 miles into owning a Kia e-Niro which suits our needs perfectly. It has been totally reliable, has a quality interior at least as good as a VW Golf and costs pennies to run...which for most people is all that matters.

@@kiae-nirodiariesencore4270 I’d suggest you watch rsymons channel real world tests, an ix50 has similar if not better range than the model X LR, re quality look at the difference in panel gaps interior materials etc. I don’t own either but I have functioning eyesight and it is night and day between these.

@Shamut I've owned a M135i, M140i and the worst of the bunch F80M3. I MY opinion the M3 performance, M3Lr and MYlr which I have also owned are far superior cars. The Bemmer M3 was 65k to purchase back in 2016. 15k more than my current MYlr. 🤪

Well the BMW software isn't 'crap'. Also, the auto wipers work properly and so do the parking sensors & camera's, From what I can see from owners of Tesla cars - that isn't the case. Wipers running on dry & sunny days and the Tesla ' Vision' isn't fit for purpose ! Finally - on our Tusker car scheme, a standard Tesla MY LR is £100 a month more that a iX40 with £5k of options
