Wow, We are considering getting a BMW with X Drive soon. We get snow just like that here in NY... this video confirms that X Drive really does work very well.
The tires are the stock, run-flat, continentals. Tint I believe is 22%. The stock tires on this car are fairly decent, I have stock on my x5 and those are just not good enough for the amount of torque that is put out by the diesel engine.
0:48 summer tires who says bmw can not into snow i mean can audi with summer tires in snow like bmw.No way BMW MY LIFEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Hey I have a 2011 bmw 335is .. just got it I love the car this is one amazing coupe but I'm worried about the winter driving conditions how can I drive with out jack knifing?
jr Floss for 1. “Jack knifing” is when a vehicle towing a trailer folds in together with the trailer also swinging around as well. If your talking about fish tailing or sliding out, 100% need winter tires not all seasons, WINTERS. Get studded if they’re legal where you live. Keep traction control on and roll slower into corners. Avoid using the gas while turning as much as possible because once you start spinning tires you start sliding.
I love your BMW! Mostly because I just bought the same one, down to the colour. I've had it for two weeks and I'll be driving in similar conditions. Two questions; What kind of tires do you have on it (for snow)? What % is the window tint? Regards.
Not bad but ya definitely got stuck at one point twords the end there when you threw it in reverse. If it were an Audi or Subaru that wouldn't have happened
That's crazy that it's doing this poorly.. I had (Just recently traded in last month) a 2011 328i xDrive, 6 speed, stock Continental tires.. It was a monster in the snow. Last bit of snow I backed straight out of my garage over and pushed down about a one foot tall snow drift. Now I'm freaking out for a winter car since I have nothing all wheel drive at the moment. Lol.
Exactly my thoughts.. being born and still lives north of the artic circle (Norway) this hurted my eyes watching. having an xdrive atm myself and tested everything from quattro, tesla awd, subarus and so on I can say xdrive really is a good system. and this bad driver(if not done on purpose) really gives you the example of a good awd system where many others would have failed xD
torn btwn deciding on m2 (RWD obviously) or xdrive 2series. about the same price. been researching and asking around but i think ive been in denial about RWD's being ok with winter tires in the snow. looking at vids like this remind me how vital and useful xdrive is. didnt think you'd make it up driveway. if that were a 328i RWD-forget it, would've slid like sweat down the ass crack. pause.
It's all about the tires but I have driven the 2 series with the turbo 6 and there is so much torque for that car. My X5d was terrible in the snow with over 400 torque.
even our car without xdrive or 4x4 could do it better... and that means: the bmw in the video doesn´t has good tires. with winter-tires, those conditions aren´t a problem for any car!
... than you are a stupid guy. dont buy a normaly city passenger car with 4-wheel-drive in your region and stock wintertires from manufacturer. buy the right car and tires. dont say the manufacture is bad, when you are take the wrong decision. ok?
