I feel its simply like this. B58 = easy and instant power with a handful of mods and better driveability around 5-800+whp. 2jz better all around over 1000+whp. Swap ability comes down to what people want but the B58 will be debatable with people only because the 2jz has so many companies making billet blocks or the known and growing dart block going about and being sold that it'd only come down to whatever either engine is being used for that'd make people decide on that + what which the personally want to use. Also considering that the B58 has more variants than the 2jz + comes in more models entirely than the 2jz, and dont seem to be going anywhere till atleast 2030 from what i heard bmw say, it should cheapen up in the long run for swaps + as they grow overtime and may slowly become a engine swap choice as they get cheaper and people start looking for another engine to swap in other chassis(if they do and if they see it as a option that is)We have yet to see a billet block B58 run about yet and were still seeing many built B58s running insane times and just itching ever so closer to 6s so its gonna be interesting the next 2 years seeing how far the B58 can handle before we see billet B58s run about.

Uhhh, the USDM Supra also got the VVTi engine. I dunno where you got your sources for that. But it most certainly did.

The NA 2JZ-GE did feature VVTi on the USDM Supra. The VVTi engines never came to the United States on the 2JZ-GTE Supra.

Because the B58 has stronger intervals than the N54 you’re doing a video of it against this 2JZ. But it should be the N54! The N54 is an insane engine & most people that have blown them up it’s been because of them! What’s the world record for a stock internal N54, 938 WHP, that’s insanity! Everyone & most definitely BMW themselves learned a lot of shit from the N54, that’s why all their cars & most race cars run the 3.0 liter straight 6! The B58 & S58 are definitely bad ass engines, but the N54 is incredible & a very reliable 650WHP engine for a long time, if you do everything the right way! You’re always gonna have that 1 or 2 that did everything right & shit still went wrong, my point of all this is the German 2JZ will always be the mighty N54❗️✌🏻😋

I agree that the N54 is the more "impressive" engine between it and the B58. The N54 is a great engine and it paved the way for the current success of engines like the B58 and S58. For its time, I think the N54 was a better engine. However, there's no denying the N54 had a lot of reliability issues. BMW tied it all together with the B58 which is not only more capable on stock turbos but also equally as strong, and more reliable. Whether or not it tolerates as much abuse and stress as the N54 has even after 14-18 years and 150,000+ miles is still yet to be seen. In that sense, the N54 is a highly proven engine much like the 2JZ; something that can't yet be said for the B58.

@@8020Media I couldn’t have said that better myself…😄👍🏻 most definitely, they’re all 3 litre straight 6’s! The N54 had dumb issues like gaskets & stuff, mostly maintenance stuff. World record stock N54 engine is 938WHP! I’ll probably get something with a B58 down the road, maybe an M235. But my N54 powered 135 is never going anywhere, I have to much money into it & it’s got extremely low miles, 44k orig miles…✌🏻😂
