This is an add to the rest of the videos to respond to the the questions people have asked in the comments and to show that the dpf removal did no damage to my car and is still fine even after 60 k miles later .

Hei, nice video, also got a question, did you clean your intake manifold before, if so, what differences have you noticed?
@mihairadupop2491
@mihairadupop2491 8 месяцев назад
I did and changed the gaskets and remove the flaps and walnut blast the valves. Difference …. Not much . Felt a bit better . But those flaps must go out thats very important. If one brakes and goes in engine is game over

Hi Mihai, I was wondering how your car performed in MOTs since the DPF delete. Does it pass with no issues? Or do you need a friendly garage to help?

No problem . Car is in good shape . I all ways go to same garage but is not because of dpf reason i just like the guy there he is a good mechanic.

Hi, I just found your channel and these videos! Great explanation. I got 2015 640d with 64k miles on the clock. I had to change timing chain, but also replaced main and rod bearings whilst the engine was out as a preventive fix. Love the car and plan to keep it for as long as possible, so in a couple of weeks time I'm going to get DPF gutted, EGR and Swirl Flaps removed. Quick question, did you do anything to your gearbox? Have you remapped it? I've only done gearbox service a couple of weeks ago which feels great when it's warmed up, but when it's cold the gear changes don't feel as smooth (slight pullback when changing gears). This is my first bmw and first automatic car, as I always had manual before. So cannot compare to any other automatic Thanks! Great videos!

I change oil every 30k miles in the box nothing more . Is smooth as butter . Something really wrong with that car if u replaced rod bearing ar 64 k miles. I got 160 k and no probs on motor , nothing like u say . That was overheated if they died . Timing chain ? At 64 k ??? Omg omg 🤯 Preventive fix change rod bearings and timing chain at 64 k ? Something not said there or something really wrong . What happen ? I would honestly sell the car . That engine took way too much damage. Timing chains and new rod bearings it will never last proper again, they never make them as good as oem in factory. I dont know what has happened there but i am sure you maybe lost oil pressure or pump failed or maybe a broken tensioner but i am sure that engine got more damage so i would not keep it . You also say it shift bad 🙁🤔 it should shift perfect . Absolutely smooth and perfect . I can not feel even the slightest glitch on mine at shifting even in sport mode if i floor it . You got way too many problems. Sell it

Im really sorry i know you love her but she’s really sick 🙁 if u in uk i can show u how it shift on mine or go to a dealership and pretend to buy one so you drive a 640 to see . Shifting is perfect on them you can not even tell if you do not listen the engine. Maybe some moron flushed your gear box or put wrong grade oil ???? Thick wrong grade oil would explain what you say at that mileage .

@@mihairadupop2491 Quick reply! Yeah everyone was surprised that timing chain was a bit loose at 64k miles! Annoyingly the previous owner hid the issue from me and the sound only appeared a couple of weeks into my ownership. I even took it to an electrician to read every car module to check if it has been clocked before. All readings were fine, so if it was clocked it was done masterfully and not a lot of people in UK can do it that well. Or maybe mileage blocker was added (although, no sign of it) Bearings didn't have any issues when they took them out and looked at them. I decided to replace them as a preventive measure as 4 different bmw specialist garages recommended doing it because the engine was already taken out.
@v1tal303
@v1tal303 7 месяцев назад
For a bit more context! Originally thought maybe it has a swapped out engine or someone tinkered with it, but vin matched and didn't look like anyone disassembled anything. The only sign was a timing chain sound on cold start, and the mechanics did take a video of my chain being a little bit stretched. So most likely just poor service and very unlucky. But now new OEM bearings, oil pump and timing chain fitted. Had it for a couple of months and so far so good. If I do get any signs of things going wrong I might sell it then

@@v1tal303 that car was abuses as fuck or does not have 64k . Is not possible to have so much damage and also gear box problem. Thing is she will be a money pit . Seen situation before. It will always be something. I would sell it . If you have to change a gear box …. 💰💰💰💰💰 nobody can fix the damn things right . Gear box can be fixed thing is will never be as good as factory. Unless you put a new one. We talk way way too much risk and money. And if that fails or some major engine problem is worth nothing. Thats why i would sell it now . You got scammed buddy im sorry .

I have anE64 635D which has had a full DPF Delete, EGR removed,all done professionally .Stage 1 tune, Both Turbos rebuilt at 80,000,the car is on 106,500 now, no overheating and runs really sweet, I change the oil every 3000 miles and filter. I also add Fuel cleaner now and then, the only issue I have is the smell, Not inside the car but outside, sometimes it’s quite strong another time it’s hardly noticeable, any ideas or is it something you have to put up with? I don’t have any issues with smoke or engine oil burning. Just wondering what are your thoughts.
@mihairadupop2491
@mihairadupop2491 8 месяцев назад
Mine stinks just the same . Just like the old diesels used to smell. They stink because the burning of oils and diesel fuels is nasty. Just try for yourself put a diesel on a piece of toilet paper and set on fire. You will see the back ugly smoke and the filth of dark crap in the smoke . Diesel is a residue of petrol distillation process. Is not burning clean. It never will. That is why the m57 is pretty much the latest stage of development of a diesel. The new 640d is not much better. The latest 2020 models is still pretty much the same. That is it, is a physical limit to them . But we live in fucked up times. Instead of our gov promoting hidrogen production on a larga scale they sign into the electric crap . The ev is stupid, tesla is stupid. Very very stupid. The lithium technology is here for 30 years now and is not much better. They will never have range . And lithium production is very toxic . Plus is a limited resource. But is about money now and votes not about the real progress. Give it 10 years and you ll see hidrogen will beat tesla . And i bet it will be toyota to do it. Keep your 635d, fix it and look after it. Buy a hidrogen one in ten years from now. You got time to put cash in the jar for it .

hey mate, would adding a full exhaust system be the same as what you've done, aside from having the actual DPF reinstalled? Also adding the down pipe instead of blocking the egr, would it be the same - performance and well being wise? I have the e71 bmw x6 35d and having dpf issues. Im looking at replacing the whole exhaust system bypassing the egr and dpf, then tuning it for best air fuel ratios, replacing all injectors too. Glow plugs and module are new also. Im keeping this car till it dies as it's my favourite looking x6. Any advice on how to go about things would be much appreciated. thanks mate.

Adding a full exhaust ? You mean put a T and put one more pipe ? I do not get it what you ask there. Look is simple all you need to do is clear the damn blockage on the exhaust. It need to be able to breath free. You can leave the silencers for noise but dpf and all the sistem that goes with it must be out. Egr down pipe ? Whyy ??? Just let it be pushed out trough the normal exhaust , block it . Is big enough . Egr does not go trough engine all time even when is new car. Is just when regulate burning not all the time. Just do what i said in video, block egr and remove dpf, do the software and the parts that need fixing as u just said u will and your fine. Is not a racing car man is a suv big as a house . It is fast enough also and a really nice car. But shes no racing material . So do not dump your life saving into it. Not worth it!!! None of them are unless a special low edition model that increase in value. Nobody buys mine if i sell tomorrow for more than 5 k and is a very good car. Your same situation. Take the advice . Do the work enjoy the car , simple as that. 10 years from now go buy a hidrogen one 😂 fuck tesla and their shit. I wanna head the roar of the beast not drive electric screw driver 😂😂😂

@mihairadupop2491 hahaha youre a legend mate. Yeah changing it to a full exhaust system might be over kill. Suv is as big as a house, i need a step ladder to wash the roof. Seems like ill block egr, remove dpf and weld pipe in, then software. Might aswell put new injectors in as car has done 150000 kms on original ones. Ill rewatch your other videos and take some notes on what I should and shouldnt do.

@@Joshua-bh7iu gut the stupid dpf and make it into a silencer inside as otherwise is will be loud and sound like a jet engine. Unless you want to sound like a Russian mig on the take off . If i accelerate i hear mine boosting just like that , i kinda like it as only does if i push it . But when i come home in the village and i slow at 1500 rpm and than is quiet and do not annoy people try to sleep. I do not want to be annoyed when i sleep by some retard in a bmw . So i try respect village areas. Yeah all on the engine , injectors, glow plugs , valve clean , service all oils including gears and dif, new antifreeze , since is all open might as well put a water pump and accessory belt check all the rollers , a new breather valve , thermostat and cap gasket for the expansion tank , since i work on it i would lift on elevator and do a full suspension and arm check and put new brake fluid . Brakes if you need. Check joints for transmission too. And when all done under give a lanoline spray to prevent corrosion. I mean since shields are off and all now is good time. I would also check a compression and see how u doing. Maybe needs a flush but i would only do flush with a proper system not cans off amazon . There is professional ones and than you run clean oil and is not 1 flush is like 3 of them and some oil filters must be removed and clean . Or you risk do catastrofic failure of engine specially if u flush an old engine that had few oil changes. You risk starve of oil and will blow up

Hi Im new in watching your videos. Im here in the UK aswell. I dont have a bmw but I have a Toyota D4D which is giving me a dpf problem. Im from an asian country and zero knowldge about a DPF thats why when I bought a car with DPF problem Im kinda stuck to it. Should I go with the dpf egr delete? It will cost me around 400£ here in derbyshire. From previous video you mentioned it doesnt smoke. But how about the smell is it too obvious? And after that do I really need to look for a friendy MOt tester? Thanks
