Yes you're absolutely right, sometimes I drive my parents cars and they are a little bit faster but full speed (230) feels like doing 100 in the e30 it's a little bit scary when you don't feel the speed.
I agree with many of the comments below. I owned an '89 316i for four years in the early 90s while living in Europe. A wonderful car...quick, handled great, fuel efficient, reliable, cruised smoothly at 150km/hr and a pleasure to drive. Mine was all manual including the windows, door locks and sunroof. Very few electronics back then if you preferred, which I did. I wish BMW still made a car like that.
I had E30 316i 4d and 318i 2d Very light, smooth and enjoyable cars. My sister had an accident in 318i. I saw the whole thing... A van hit her at 60kph on the side, drivers side. The car spinned 360°. Door, rear fender and the suspention were crashed. B-pillar moved 3cm. My sister had no injuries 😲 Amazing how well these care were build.
@@csfvideos5681 I heard about folks that hit the tree at 80kph. They opened the door and brought another car to pull out the E30. No injuries. I guess it didn't need the airbag.
Yes I think so. The previous owner refreshed the engine. He grind in the valves (google translator) so it has good compression for an m40. I hope I can have more fun with it.
I had the same car in black and I miss that car a lot. Beautiful, elegant, fast, good drinker, a lot of memories until 335 000 kms, when an old Land Rover killed my BMW ( and almost killed me that I was Inside). Good video!!!!
Beautiful piece of engineering. I had the pleasure of owning one and driving around Europe on my honeymoon: Four weeks pedal to the metal, pure pleasure. Thinking back of all cars I have had, I think this is the best ( including Mercedes, Jaguar, Alfa Romeo... )
I have an 89' 325i convertible... Man that thing is quick. I always am astounded with how it keeps up with modern traffic so easily, and how I barely put my foot down and I'm doing 60 in a 40... Lol
Very nice var & engine sound!! I did 220 km/h on my 320i Touring. Awesome car. Sharp and precise steering. For a 30 year old car, it’s not bad. These are cool cars, it’s a pity that their era is long gone ...
I absolutely love old BMW-s, and older cars in general. Classic, timeless design, completely manual feel of the car with no assistances, fact that many cars were 300-400 kilos lighter than cars today, and the most important thing of all, feel of speed. I drive a Yugo (yes... I live in homeland of Yugo) and trust me, that car is scary over 80 km/h. Had a chance to drive several older cars and every single one has some special kind of feel, while many modern cars feel similar. I am broke student and I am currently considering BMW e46 to change my Yugo. After college I want to get and do "custom" e30 coupe with exterior almost untouched, m50 engine and some more, and use it as weekend, fun little car.
Nice plan. Currently I‘m changing the m40 from my 318i to a m50b25 from an e36. I‘ll hope I finish in time to enjoy the rest of summer driving the e30 m50 😍
since most cars are rated "death" at a 70km+ crash speed. these are truly the finest car to drive at such speeds since the lack of crumple zone and airbags literally doesnt change anything
Yes in my Clip I have to much pressure in my rear tires. You can see when I overtake somebody I must do much correction because the rear of my car was unstable. Now with less preasure I could try a new topspeed run ;)
Yo guys I got a question! IDK if i should buy a BMW e30 316 or a BMW e36 318is coupe I love the look of an e30 but the e36 is stronger and has all the options (both are same price) some help pls. it will be my first car
Very good question I desided to take the e30 because it is a lot lighter and the e30 will increase in money a lot over the next years. But a e36 318is is a very nice car with an very reliable and stronger engine. You must deside what your preferences are.
The Retro Geek yes of course I still have it. But I did not drive it in the last few months because I changed the engine to an m50b25. But in a few days I hopefully can drive again.
@@csfvideos5681 We might change the engine for our e30 in the far future, but this made me think i need to take care and love the M40b18 while its runs! But then again, M50 in an e30 is such a lovely combo. Thank you for all the info!
Mine 316i touring does 181 on GPS (190 at speedmeter) and it's not top :) 0-100 in 12.7 (in prospect 13.9). Compression (in atm): 1 - 14.1, 2 - 14, 3 - 14.2, 4 - 13.9.
i want to try my s13 on the autobahn, i've maxed the 240kmh speed once and it was at around 6000rpm on 5th gear. would be fun to see if it would go over 250kmh gps.
