Replacing the On Board Computer (OBC) or trip computer in a E36 3 series BMW.
Removal is a pain. Luckily I had a random tool that really helped. Putting it back in is super easy.
Make sure and check the replaceable bulbs (~$2 each) before you run out and buy a used computer on EBay ($45) like I did.

Next time use your finger to remove the OBC, There is a little lever to pull towards you for easy removal of the obc. there is a hole at the of the case in the middel under of the obc easy to reach and to remove (no tools needed). Sorry for my english

Hello I wanted to know if it was possible to switch from a obc 7 button obc to a 12 button or 18 button on a 316i because i want to display the speedometer or the rpm digital

you seem to have dead light bulbs. It wasnt necessary to replace the obc

Thanks for the info....but if you watch the video to the end, you see I already reached that conclusion the hard way. Where were you before I bought the 2nd computer on ebay ;)

lol i got a dead light boulb after i had the smart idea of removing my obc wile it was still on and i hit the gear nobe with it. So i removed a light boulb from the ash tray and modified it so it fit the obc xD

What a hack. All you did was buy another used OBC that's going to have pixelation problems in the future, they all do unless they have been repaired properly and their inferior parts exchanged.

Nossa camarada parece que você tá arrombando o painel kkkkk meu amigo tem uma chavinha bem aí onde tá sua mão que vc aperta e o obc sai sozinho, putz não precisa de chave nenhuma e nem quase arranca o painel fora, é só uma traminha que fica bem ali apertou soltou, kkkkk
