My EGR is taken out of the car but the coolant temp doesn't go about 60c I'm going to change engine thermostat but the gearbox also has one.

Hi, I will be doing this Once again to the 330d once it warms up! Just a question.. I see the picture of the two different Stat’s that you got send one being the wrong item. From the two photos you can tell that the bolt holes don’t line up the same. I have my new thermostat and to me it looks smaller than I remember .. is the 520d difference to the 530/535d thermostat .. As I really don’t want it to be the wrong item when I’ve started the job. Thanks

whats the coolant bleeding process like on this car? do they have air bleed vavles and do i just have to fill it let the car get to temp then check it or do they have electric water pumps?

I am going to try this as my 330d is taking ages to warm up even on hot days. It smokes a lot too and the MPG is not very good. Seems to be running rich all the time, I hope this will fix it!

Do i need to worry about the egr thermostat if i did the egr delete? Symptoms are Car struggles to warm up and bad mpg

My coolant temp is below 60degrees Which thermostat should i change as hot air does not blow out properly?

My e60 530d runs at roughly 80°C or below in highway. Takes close to 30 minutes to reach above 80°C. But in congested city traffic it goes up to 96°C when standstill. When car starts running again, it reaches back to 88°C. What could be reason? Thank you.

I just did this on my 330d, it was only getting up to 65c. Put the new thermostat in but only goes up to 75c - still to cold it should be 88c! Warm up seems to be very slow as well. Does anyone know whats causes this?
