Thanks Chris. I was able to folllow your video and replace my water pump and both belts on my 06 750Li. Just to help others I used 28mm Long Socket for crank case nut and a T60 Bit for Serpentine Belt Tensioner.

For anyone still reading these and working on e65-66's a T55 will strip out your belt tensioner 50% of the time, use a T60 with a breaker bar or a long handled socket drive....it will save you cutting off the belt and replacing the tensioner

it's a T60 for mines, T55 broke my tensioner hole, had to replace it. if you have play in your t55 , go up a size.

Also regarding your other question, I need to do my lower control arm bushings, I need to research and see if I need to replace the whole arm with new bushings, or just the bushings. Stay tuned for that, my neighbor just replaced his and said the warranty company charged 1,200 per arm, WOWWWW that's a lot of money, I could probably fix it for under 175 for complete new arm.

Chris. On my 06 750Li. My car seems like it doesn’t downshift soon enough into 2nd or even 1st as I’m approaching to a costing stop. As I’m costing to to stop but get on normal acceleration my car seems like it has little power unless I continue to depress more power to half way stroke of my peddle then it jumps to a lower gear and go. How can I get my downshifting proper so I’m not lacking power?

HiOne thing I didn't understand was do I have to touch the A/C belt before I get to the serpentine?

Hey Chris I was just wondering I did my tensioner pulley recently okay and there's a silver pin in the bottom of the new pulley and there's not one in my old pulley there is a hole or a slot for the silver pen what I'm wondering is do I have to pull that pin out or has the old pensioner failed and the pain was gone I did notice that the new tensioner that you put in also had a pen but I haven't seen you take it out was there any issues when you finish the job

Why did you change the pulleys ? Do they make noise ?? Cause my motor makes a lil noise and I can't figure out where it's coming from

Hey Chris, your videos have been very easy to follow. Thank you for putting the info up for the common man. I have a 2006 bmw 750li and changed the water pump, thermostat, tensioner along with the idle pulley. My problem is installing the AC belt because there isn't a tensioner. I've searched your videos and couldn't find one demonstrating how to install it. Can you tell me how it is done. I'd appreciate it.

Hello Blainq, I actually had the same problem, there are several ways to do it after research, you can loosen the ac compressor bolts and then that allows some slack, or you can buy the really expensive tool that BMW uses to put it on, or ask a indy shop to let you borrow theirs for a few bucks, or do what I did and use a ton of sweat and just crack your break bar clockways or counter clockways, while having a friend slip the belt on like a bike tire. Hope this helps

Just a FYI you can get the same exact contitech kit from Bavarian auto sport .com for 120.00 I'm in the process of changing my belts right now. Thanks for your vids very helpful !

Great video even tho its not a idler tensioner pulley. You were changing the tensioner pulley. The idler pulley is the bottom one. Tensioner pulley/ idler pulley two separate names and parts in two separate places.

What about the Belt to compressor?

Hi my T55 slot in the tensioner is stripped. If I cut the belt off and replace the tensioner..would this be a fix? I have the same car 750I 06
@DIYsavecash
@DIYsavecash 8 лет назад
+amwbiz Hello, if you want to save the belt so you don't have to replace it, you can get a friend and have him put gloves on the pull the direction it's suppose to go with his strength he'll move to loosen the tension and then pull off belt, just be careful of your fingers, I did this awhile ago on my cadillac with my old roommate. Then you can unbolt the tensioner and replace it, and slip the belt back on, but if you don't care about the belt and just want to replace it anyway then yes you could cut it just wear eye protection and watch out it'll probably snap like a rubber band. Hope this helps:)

So basically what you're saying is to put the belt on first take tension off of it and then pull the pin out

Can the Pin be removed before install?
@neoshade6462

You have to take the pin out and put the pin back in after install, don't be like me and snap your pin like an idiot😂

Made in Mexico Contitech belts are not OEM Contitech quality people. save 10 dollars in the aftermarket and ruin the quality of your BMW
