M3 GTS is a bit special and another winner from Henry Catchpole. The guy is even good at the voice over parts, slowly turning into the motoring equivalent of Sir David Attenborough!

M3 V8 and M5/M6 V10 are just the absolute best. Would love to see those engines come back in the new cars.

The E92 M3 was the last version with a true N/A Motorsport engine soul. After this you were left with turbo 6 cylinder motors with piped in sound which no longer were the core of the GT racing for BMW. If you can find a nice one right now I can’t imagine it won’t go up in value over the next 5-10 year.

Crazy how much effort BMW went through this, making a stroker version of the S65 V8 just for this car

The E9X M3 will go down as the greatest M3 of all time. I LOVE ALL M3S but the E9X is something special.

You should extend the scope of this series to every factory M3 models ever made and I am totally serious

The best m3 ever

I drive the regular M3 E92, I smile everytime I look at it!

Owning and tracking my E92 M3, loving everything about it, I was excited to watch this video. I love Henry and Carfection as I often attest to in comments. But guys come on, the power button adds 100hp? In an E60 M5 yes, in the M3 it only improves throttle response by making the peddle actuate earlier in its travel. This has the best engine and gearbox combo of any M3/M4. It’s a shame the review felt a tad flat missing key details. The car itself may not have been homologated, but the P65 group of engines based on the S65 where used extensively in motorsport. Still have loved the series so far.

Having a 2012 E92 I can say this GTS is my dream car hands down.

One of my favourite sounding V8s until today!

E92 hits the sweet spot of M3s. Better transmission than the e46 in both manual and automatic guise oh and that high revving V8 helps! Forget the GTS, you can have 95% as much fun in a 'normal' e92 M3 for a fraction of the cost. These cars are on the endangered species list, experience them while you can, they're special.

I was driving this very car 48 hours ago. Special car, engine is a masterpiece.

Now the E92 is where is its at. The engine makes loves to your ears and the chassis is a stroke of genius. Don't hesitate on buying because it will most definitely reward you as it did with me.

My dream car. Too bad it costs about $200,000 in today’s money. But man, in almost every review of the e92 GTS I’ve seen, they always said the same thing, how much fucking fun it is. What an accomplishment this thing was.

This was the true pinnacle of bmw M engineering. After this, it all went same turbo engine everywhere, more led headlight design than true dynamic power delivery of a motor, more building "M" package lines with carbon bits than truly building 1 exemplary M car like the old days...

Still remember Vicki throwing around an identical specimen on Fifth Gear when this first came out. Don't know if it's the beautiful spec or the nostalgia of ripping around in this in NFS, but to me, this is the most beautiful M3 till date. Although the E30 is a very close competitor, with the history associated with it, I don't see many people actually pushing them on a track.

Sat in this exact press car at the BMW training centre, instructor could help but show a cold start and blip the throttle a touch WOW!!

In this generation my favourite is the 4 door saloon CRT. 😍

I don't know what it is about British documentaries, but they are so well made that you truly feel you are there with the presenter. I would probably watch a whole documentary series about Victorian era kitchen pantry installation procedures if a Brit made a documentary about it, they probably have though. Henry, loving the series so far, gives me a reason to look forward to Monday’s 😊 In commenting on the homologation backstory, you may find that the e92 is most similar to the e36, where the e36 M3 GT and 318iS homologated an aero kit for the race cars in GT and Super Touring, the apologetic rear wing on the e92 M3 GTS looks to have appeared on the M3 GT4 for its second season out, though I can’t find the old GT4 catalog I had downloaded to indicate that at the moment. Keep up the great work!

I've met an American chap that owned one about 7 years ago on the Cabot Trail. He was with a party of trackday enthousiasts with Lotus's, Ferraris and Porsches. He was definitely the leader of the group and I joined them on my GSX-R for a thrilling ride around the Island of Cape Breton. Good times.

CRT with a manual gearbox and 4.1 diff is pretty much my perfect M3.

Oh that V8.....one of the best sounds ever. A keeper! The plain vanilla version for under $40k is worth considering.

Funny how times change, couple of years ago, this, and many other car reviewing channels would have slated the e92 gts

BMW M3 GTS E92 4.4 L V8 440 PS & 1 Cylinder got 55 PS 440/8 =55 Ps Nice engine sound

Power button only changed the throttle response in the E92 M3, didn’t add power nor did it change the exhaust note.

Please do similar episodes with the Alpines (not the bmw kind). Im talking old a110, a310, a610 and new a110. They have an interesting history that gets far to little attention these days! Cheers!
