Nice work! I got a 335i e93 convertible and front collision deployed the driver airbags , and the headrest too. I have the error code 93af which is for the passenger side headrest error strangely. I was searching for video on how to fix the active headrest deployed issue, and glad you got one.
Thank Jack what a helpful video. What would you recommend to get in order to clear the fault as OBD reader that I have doesn't clear the fault related to airbag/head restraint .
Hi. Nice video. On my 520d F10, the headrest is stuck in the forward position but it’s not fully sticking out like yours in the video. The car was hit from the back that’s why I am assuming that the charge may have fired. I tried reading fault codes and I am getting error message “active headrestraint driver resistance too high”. Any tips on how to open the head restraint in my case and test the state of the charge.
Both will go off, but it is dependent on if someone is in the seat with seatbelt attached. So if only driver, then only driver goes off. Just happened to me, but I’ve seen passenger ones deployed in pictures.
if you can reset a seatbelt after a crash , why cant it just be pushed back in, mine had a bump, no airbag deployed but headrest restraint error popped up, 930958 and 93095E. surely there is some one that can repair this cannister itself
Perla Cristo it's difficult to get them apart when they haven't deployed. Ive done it before. You can't get inside to release the lock but you can get the cover off. I use a belt moulding tool to slide it between the upper headrest and cover then pull . It takes a little force but it will pop off.
