Seems like odds of getting a pcm successfully repaired are about the same odds as hitting lotto. Shame how cars have gotten so stupidly over complicated. Thank you for posting Ramon and good luck with this.
Just got an update from owner. He sent DME to another company to be checked and he was told that DME is good. He insisted to get replacement DME and it’s running great now. He is very pleased with outcome. Now car has parasitic battery drain. Looks like I will see him again.😊
@@kyhomegarage3430 I'm not surprised at the outcome. The owner was right to trust your judgement. Looking forward to the parasitic draw video if you are able to post it. With your skills that should be a piece of cake after all this. Stay well Ramon.

Thanks for sharing! another good one, and never a dull moment when you think something should be fixed when you send things out. As always, thanks for the diag!

I see that the spacing of the injectors, on the one pack of 6, grows a little more with each injector activation, then resets. That could be engine speed change instead of actual timing change. A useful test is run a math channel for the CKP to display it as frequency. Changes in speed will be registered on the freq graph. Using the math channel to compare the cams to each other and to CKP can show timing chain variations. The noise bursts, on the CKP and CMP signals, at the point of #4 injector, don’t look to be any thing significant but, it is too convenient for them to be consistent and at exact time. It looks supiciously like RF from an ignition coil but I would not expect a coil to fire at that exact time. #2 ign would be closest. I wonder if he has the OE sensors too?

You may have mentioned these items, if so, I apologize. On your injector problem, were OEM injectors used as replacements? Do the new injectors work on the other cylinders? Have you visually examined the connectors to the injectors and checked for bent pins or pins touching each other at the control module and for any unusual resistance going through any connectors? You checked powers and grounds - did you check for unusual resistance or slightly lower than expected voltage through the positive and negative cable connectors (i.e. w/in the crimps)? See any unusual splices in the wiring harness covered by electrical tape where wires were twisted together instead of being crimped or soldered? Did you consult DiagnoseDan, who works on more of these engines than most people?Good luck with resolving the problems you found. Finally, can you tell me where your business is located in Kentucky? A college student, who lives near Louisville, used her hard-earned money to buy a used 2013 Volvo that has turned out to be a lemon. Local estimates she has gotten are more than she paid for it. I live hundreds of miles away and have not seen it, but a college friend of hers is a neighbor. From what he describes, it worked when she bought it but a few weeks later developed multiple issues. Don't know if it was a private sale "as is" or from a dealer. It may be a simple problem that sets off many money lights and codes, or it may actually need major repairs she can't afford. She doesn't know what to do. If you are anywhere with 100 miles or so of Louisville, I would recommend to her that she contact you to discuss her issues.
New DME fixed this car. It’s running great.Car will be back to me for another problem which is parasitic battery drain. You can send your contact info to my email ruzic@bellsouth.net thank you
@@kyhomegarage3430 Glad the new DME fixed the problem. I have passed your contact information to the friend of the young lady with the Volvo issues and asked him to have her get in touch with you at the email address you provided, and let her explain the issues. I suggested that she get it towed or driven to your shop if you think you can help her. I do not know her name, but hope she will contact you today and explain her problems. I really appreciate your passing your contact info to me and hope you can help her if she contacts you.
Who knows how that control module is being tested??? Most electronics need to be opened up and the circuit in question needs to be isolated or removed in order to be tested ; and I doubt if that is being done for this owner. Ramon, depending how much more you wish to get involved, you could call the tester and ask them how they are testing this module.
