I like that you do prompt accurate replies. Your vids helped me do my own brake/clutch flushes. Thanx!

Hello Gamotur- yes you do a nice video of flushing the clutch fluid but when you do the flush every 2 years you should also take off the clutch piston and piston spring clean it and lube it too. (Thats is the one that holds it with 2 screws- there you do the fluid bleeding ) that is a proper work we all need to do every 2 years at least. Thank you and happy riding to all.

Hey, do you think that Magura blue blood is adequate to be used instead of the V10 stuff from Bmw ? Thanks

Spectacular vid bro! Perfect camera angles and all the side notes you would need for the job, as always. Can’t wait for that charcoal canister removal vid tho😉. Ride safe!

Excellent vid. I have a 2018 Scrambler and want to understand why I have some leakage from the master cylinder. Looks to me that the person who had it last may have overtightened the three screws as they are a bit chewed up so I ordered some new ones. I note the bolt to loosen it is 8nm, what's the correct settings for the screws in the MC if you know? I was told it was 2nm for those.
@gamotur
@gamotur Год назад
Thanks. If you have a "some leak" from the master cylinder, replace the rubber diaphragm with a new one and simply tighten the three screws on the cover by hand, nothing crazy 2Nm is enough. These diaphragms are very fragile and this has happened to me before. Unfortunately BMW only selling clutch master cyl. diaphragm with a cover as a kit $$$
@nickdart4772

@@gamotur Thanks very much, I think the last person over tightened then. I will have to buy another kit. Many thanks.

Shouldn't the Clutch be reversed bled ie by injecting fluid into the Slave Cylinder as any Air Bubbles will surely rise to the Master Cylinder ?.
@gamotur
@gamotur 3 года назад
Hi. You can do this with the pump (Reverse Bleeding), but sometimes air can get through the threads of the bleed valve. I've been bleeding the brakes / clutch this way for ten years and never had a problem with it.

I have a 2014 R1200R and although my master cylinder is different (small and round) the cylinder in the back looks the same. Got that fluid on order and will do this soon, thanks for posting! I thought procedure for the clutch was different but like you said seems like doing the brakes, thanks again!

hey mate, very informative. I'm at 20k miles on my scrambler and I performed this service at 18k. Do you know the official BMW intervals? I just did it for piece for mind after my reservoir cap started leaking after a little incident while off roading in Baja.
@gamotur
@gamotur 3 года назад
According to BMW owners manual you should change brake fluid for the first time after one year, then every two years (same with clutch). By the way, off roading in Baja must be fun. I'm jealous 😊

Excellent video. Thank you. Is that a 2018 R Nine T Urban GS? Also, what size torx wrench did you use to open the clutch fluid reservoir?
@gamotur

Thank you. Yes this is 2018 Urban GS and torx size to open clutch reservoir is T20. ( don't forget to 👍 ) Thanks

Hi, I would like to know why you bleed the fluid from near the rear shock instead of the caliper itselfs? So if i bleed the fluid the way you do it, i dont need to do all calipers separately?
@gamotur
@gamotur 3 года назад
I think you want to bleed or change fluid in your BRAKES ? This video is about bleeding/flushing the clutch but don't warry, I have two videos showing how to perform a brake fluid flush. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vhmzECXIz8A.html and ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l2IxuxCMZ84.html

How many bottles of clutch fluid did you use for the flush? Thank you.
@gamotur
@gamotur 3 года назад
One bottle is enough for about two reservoir refills (118ml / 4 FL OZ) I used one.

Hi, I recently got an RT1200 but my clutch biting point changes during riding. It starts off biting early but a few miles later it bites much later. I started to undo the filler cap to check and mineral oil (I believe, unless water has got in) started coming out from all sides, so I did the screws back up, as I don't know anything about hydraulic clutches. I'm guessing it's been over filled by someone, is that right? Thanks
@gamotur
@gamotur 3 года назад
Hi. If this is a used motorcycle, I'd start by changing the clutch fluid. There should be no more than 3/4 of the clutch fluid in the reservoir. If there is "too much fluid" in it, I bet on water or air in the system. While riding, the temperature of the fluid rises and changes the volume. Or, just drain some fluid out (leave 3/4 full) when the reservoir is in level and see if that helps.
@ArcanePath360
@ArcanePath360 3 года назад
@@gamotur Thanks for the reply. I drained some out with a syringe. It looked dirty so I'm guessing it needs flushing. Only trouble is I can't any videos on how to do this for my bike. Had a quick look around for the bleed nipple and couldn't see it. When I do find it, is it the same procedure as for flushing breaks, just with Royal Blood mineral oil? Thanks
@gamotur
@gamotur 3 года назад
@@ArcanePath360 I would go with BMW Motorrad Blue V10 it’s even cheaper than Magura. The bleed screw should be by the end of clutch cable, right by the transmission.
@ArcanePath360
@ArcanePath360 3 года назад
@@gamotur Hi, I can't even find that for sale online. At least not in UK. I think I found the bleed nipple - I can see one behind the engine in the middle but the frame and battery compartment is in the way to get a normal ring spanner in there, maybe an offset one might reach after taking half the bike apart. Looks like a job for the dealer, since it's still under warranty. I took some fluid out (only a few mm as I don't have any to replace if I mess up) and it made no difference. As soon as I travel a few miles it still bites much later. I think your theory of thermal water expansion might be on point. The fluid I took out did look a little dirty when pooled up. Thanks for the help.
