Hi, nice video! I have a question for you, maybe you can help me or give me some advice where to look. I own a Urban GS R Ninet (2017), for a few weeks now I have noticed that the engine is running hotter than usual. I already replaced the oil thermostat and the oil temp sensor, but it did not helped. Any ideas or advice? thanks!
Hey if ur seeing this i have a question. I have a ducati m900 ie. I need a clutch and found one for 500 but it has aluminum basket steel cluch disks. Will it just not make any noise because the aluminum basket? I want noise cant find a steel basket and disks on a kit
I have steel basket/aluminum disks and still hear the knocking “noise”. Not like with steel on steel but it’s there. The reason I went with this option is that aluminum disks don’t damage the basket to much. It’s easier to replace disks than basket.
9 T sounds great. I have the twin high pipes and have removed the silencer cones. Much improved. Being a 23 model I have a little different flapper setup. It has to go with the canister. K&N maybe a full exhaust.
was the washer put on backwards compared to the photo provided on the orientation? if the washer was a bowl used for soup, the open part of bowl was facing outwards vs inwards.
www.shopbmwmotorcycles.com/oem-parts/bmw-motorrad-semi-sphere-5-25-11347721188 Please remember that each engine wears out in different ways. It is important that you measure the valve gap and calculate the proper shim thickness. Your engine may be within specification and no changes are needed. You will do me a great favor if you give me a thumbs up 👍
@@gamotur Thank you for your reply and make this great video to help people save money from maintenance. Absolutely Thumbs up 👍🏼. My bike is 2021 model and only put about 3k on it. I have marked this video for my bike check valve in the future. Thanks again.
Just got an '18 Urban GS. The previous owner has removed the charcoal canister but left the original servo unit on the exhaust - not sure if he had removed the flap itself. What do these mods accomplish? Any info or link is appreciated!
You'll get peace of mind that none of these crap will ever fail and destroy your engine or fuel system. True story, exhaust flap failure in the closed position without any warning light on the dashboard on my friend's bike, caused the headers to get VERY hot (glowing white) and engine over heat. After that his bike never work like before. Without the exhaust flap your exhaust will sound a little bit louder.
Thank you. Yes, you can buy them separately. Here are the links: The Servo Buddy www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/servo-buddy-bmw-2010-2017?sku_id=1185159 , Butterfly Valve Eliminator www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/remus-butterfly-valve-eliminator-bmw-r-nine-t-2014-2020?sku_id=10181198 . You could do me a big favor and leave a thumbs up under the video 👍
The Urban GS is a great all-rounder. Comfortable, you can easily strap your bag to the back seat, fuel economy is okay (about 200 miles on a tank), the engine has plenty of torque and is decent for light off-roading. The downside could be the lack of a windshield, but it doesn't bother me that much. After six years I would buy it again.
I’m about to do this on 2017 R9T classic- I received the speedbleeders I ordered few days ago- Question: once you install the speed bleeders and go through the process, do you then replace them with the original valve or leave them on the bike? Thanks
When you're done, simply tighten the Speed Blender (approximately 10 ft-lbs). There is no reason to replace it with the original one, that's why we call it SPEED BLEEDER Make sure to leave the 👍 😀
So I got two SB6100 ss m6 x1.0 and one sb8125L m8x 1.25 Are these the correct sizes for 2017 r9t classic? There was some confusion on the forum on the sizes-
@@anjmsar9 Unfortunately I forgot which ones I used, but I know I followed the parts list from the Speed Bleeder website: www.speedbleeder.com/bikechart.htm
I don't remember where I bought it, but any larger medical syringe will do. I found one on Amazon www.amazon.com/Carejoy-Indutrial-Syringes-Scientific-Injecting/dp/B07DXS7ZTV/ref=sr_1_3?crid=191CQSOFN2OT2&keywords=marcomed%2Bsyringe&qid=1703810317&sprefix=marcomed%2Bsyringe%2Caps%2C63&sr=8-3&th=1
Hi Gamotur. I purchased the GS-911. Completed first service and successful reset without issue. I had to make a small filter strap to remove the oil filter as the space is quite tight. A fine line between the exact amount of oil required and overfilling in the sight glass. Thanks for your good work and videos.
Hi Gamotur, My 2022 R9T U GS is ready for her first service. I am 500klms from the "local" shop. Do you know if we can purchase a direct plug in OBD tool to cancel the service light. I have searched before and not had any luck. Thanks for the great videos.
I'm not sure what you mean by "direct plug" but you can buy diagnostic tool like HEX GS-911 to reset service light. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-A_i9Sb44FuE.html
Thanks for the link to your OBD vid. Appreciated. What I meant about 'direct plug in' was agreeably a little vague. I meant a stand alone OBD unit with digital read out. Not having to plug in a PC or Android phone. (I am using Apple) I thought by now we might have that option. Cheers, All good down under.
