Thank you for the video, I have my 2000 speed triple in the shop for engine work, and it looks like it may be months till I see it again so I was shopping for a bike on the cheap and there is one of these near me so I am investigating. After the TL1000S I had a few years back spun a main bearing, and the Speedy blew it's sprag clutch which convieniently resides inside the cases 2.7K to fix that... I am very interested in something that is stone cold reliable.... I don't need a fast bike, the speedy is quick enough so this R850R may be the trick.. Comfy with panniers and a boxer engine will all be new to me if I end up getting one. Just a thought on the video in genral. I would suggest you deliver any review with a bit more energy and enthusiasm in there to keep the hook set in the viewer and pulling them along. I am interested in doing reviews of older bikes myself, I have a number of them and restore and rebuild them and I imagine I would have to work on being engaging, and excited about what we are talking about if I ever did that. So, take it all with a grain of salt there and again, thank you for the video I appreciate it.
Just watched your ride and the thoughts you have about the bike really helpful as I am considering buying one at the moment (2023) although the mileage is a bit steep on the one Im looking at. but know they are good for hundred thousand at least I hope 🤔😂 👍
Great bike i also own one from 1999 and I enjoy it very much, mine has ABS and brakes fantastic. I can recommend it 100% I have a question, how many kilometers does your bike have? Mine ha 56000 kilometers on it.
Really enjoyed this Bennie and appreciate the care and effort you have put into presenting and filming this. I own a 2006 Classic model in black a great bike but I feel your screen is far superior to my standard small one, can you give me any details on it please?
just get one!!! you will enjoy it, low maintenance costs! Its a bike with character. Riding will you get out of the rush. On paper it got 70hp but in real its near 80hp.You will keep up with the big boys.20 liter off fuel.gives you 340km minimum...
Considering a Boxer as my next ride , in your opinion is there any advantage in going for the 1100 over the 850. The weight of the bike does not concern me as my current ride is a VN1500 , looking for something comfortable for long distance with high reliability utmost in my mind .
The R850R is a very good bike but sometimes I feel as though it is a little under powered, so maybe the R1100R or perhaps the R1150R would be better because of the extra BHP.
Yes very happy with the windscreen, it helps to keep the wind blast away from your chest on long motorway rides, and the handguards are a good way of deflecting the cold wind away from your hands on a winters day.
