Be N S O N Mr. Bucket and Dream phone are perfect examples of comedy-horror. Mr. Bucket being more comedy and Dream Phone being more horror centered. It's sad that these videos surpass what Hollywood consider good comedy-horror, Hollywood's big budgeted (in comparison to James' restricted budget) horror comedies often come off as flat or lifeless in comparison to these truly great vids that James puts out. The balance in the two vids are perfectly done.

oxyKILLdone Honestly Ive become increasingly convinced over the years that a big budget is more of a curse than a boon to filmmaking. Sure the special effects of modern movies are amazing, but there's no heart to them, a lot of them are just products to maximise stakeholder investment, and without restrictions, there is no challenge, no creative thinking behind them. The Nightmare episode in particular might have pretty terrible digital special effects, but it's such a wonderfully surrealist bit of film that ive watched it like 3 times over beginning to end. I barely even remember a good portion of Hollywood films once I leave the theatre, even with the flashy digital effects. Ive been enjoying the recent Avgn resurgence, but it's kind of disappointing that James doesn't have time or budget to make anything like the Dream Phone video anymore. That's just capitalism I guess.

At least Board James comes out on top at the end of the Mr. Bucket episode, this one ends with him destroying the phone but then getting arrested for murder.

There is actually a episode kinda like that where a gramma givers her grandson a phone then she dies but he is still able to talk to her through the phone.

I liked the effect that poster had. It was like the poster on the door actually resembled exactly when the episode took a turn for the worst. Like he went through some portal.
