Easy to remove from outside. Using a 10 lb maul, strike the carriage bolt head, driving it through the plywood towards interior. Plywood then easily falls off. It's a H.U.D. requirement so fire fighters can quickly gain access to interiors.
Client usually determines. If foreclosure thru national they have a set price but I would jack it up based on materials and time using inflation to justify.
+Haik Hakopian I suppose the specs are rather subjective. Provided that the bolts had been sheared off properly and depending upon jurisdiction a whitewash (as I said) it would meet HUD specs
The compression of the bolts ratcheted down to the 2x4's which extend past the sides of the window keeps the plywood in place and is required as such by HUD.
On another video I saw these bolts are one long bolt that goes through the plywood and through the two by four. Correct? I didn't realize the bolt was that long, although you may have said the length in your video. Sorry.
Is it possible to do this where the Windows are NOT broken? To protect the Windows? I have double hung windows. I'm not Sure how to lower the top half, but once I'm able to bring both panes to the middle, I think it will work...
