EPISODE 69.
I’m very excited and grateful to welcome another Shipwright onto the Tally Ho rebuild! We also have a new volunteer here, so the 3 of us and Cecca get to work making bolts, fastening the Beam Shelf, and making Deck Beams to span the the boat and support the deck itself.
Meanwhile, Pancho has a stand-off with some chickens and Cecca reintroduces herself… sort of. We also have a discussion about deck camber, and what “constant camber” means when constructing the deck of a yacht.

Cause for celebration... both Pete and Patrick arriving on the same episode. I'm visiting from the future, having watched every episode at least once. It is a delight to come back and see this episode. Pete is a huge part of this project and Patrick brings unending delight. This is the best channel on RU-vid for anyone who appreciates craftsmanship... and what great people make a contribution to this journey.... all brought to us through the generosity of Leo.

The graceful lines of the ship becoming more and more clear, the intense blue of a Washington sky after a rain, the inspired background music, the perfect pace and editing of the cinematography, the teams of workers all happily working away, including a beautiful smiling woman who is right there, working side by side with her passionate madman of a partner, well, all of it comes off like a life blend of artisan craft of the highest order mixed with an abundance of Art with a capital "A." And speaking of Art, that final shot of your feathered mascot, resplendent in bright organic colors checking out the insides of the ship with the repeated geometry disappearing into the distance behind is worthy of a frame, a really, really nice frame. Just inspired! I imagine I'll be stating the obvious but it's more than likely that this video record of what you are doing will stand the test of time every bit as long as Tally Ho does and for good reason. Just excellent. Thanks mate!

It's intriguing to me that at 11:24, a not particularly large chicken, taking off from one end of a heavy layer of flitches on the (admittedly not rigidly constrained) forks of a reasonably hefty forklift, caused an easily visible perturbation which took several cycles to settle down. However I'm sure that (in the traditions of RU-vid) some person or persons out there will be itching to explain why it's not intriguing to them!

Another excellent and absorbing video. I would not even consider skipping the tech bits they are some of the best and add fascinating depth to the vids. I will admit I had my fingers x'd that it was going to be Lou Sauzedde but I guess I can't have it all. I am sure your new shipwright will do just as great and wish him well. Looking forward to the next one already.

Just wanted to say. Please make sure that wire wheel she is using to clean those up is a stainless wire type. If not you are embedding steel in the heads of those rivets. They will rust pretty fast like that. Just a heads up. Keep up the awesome work.

Leo, you are approaching that mid point where you will be closing her up soon. Seems like it has all happened so fast. It is like that half way point in a voyage. All down hill from here/there. What a marvelous creation you have made and breathed new life into..

The boat, the work, and the camaraderie is really great - but nothing equals the dazzling look of Poncho's mascara! 😁👍
