Really great to see everything looks as it did in the '70's and 80's when we cruised with the Family of 6. Only difference I see is that we used to have almost no one else around except for our travel boat buddies.
As a life long resident and boater on the Chesapeake Bay, I can kind of negative relate to your switch between loop to cruise. It's been said that there is a lifetime of boating on the Chesapeake... but I'm yearning for a "never been here" experience. Your vids are the best!
Don't you think for one second that I'm not taking note of the editing quality of your videos! You guys are doing an amazing trip and also doing a magnificent job of presenting it to us. Thank you!
Nice video ! I just came across it and subscribed . We love the North Channel ! Fox Island is our favorite spot , hills and a maze of dinghy channels to explore . If you get back to Killarney , get a mooring ball off of Killarney Mountain Lodge and dinghy over and see Andy Lowe sing at the bar ( check and see if he is playing this year ) - very entertaining !
You have done really well. Boating has been a real learning experience for you guys and handling it like pros. Problems dealt with calmness and common sense. Never like a Chinese fire drill. An experienced captain and deck hand and not to forget a super cook. Life is dull without taking chances and dealing without challenges and you picked a dandy one doing the loop.
Been cruising that area for a number of years. That anchorage at the Benjis is shallow but doable. Thanks for showing our cruising area. The tanin is from the mouth of the Spanish river which is only a few miles north Litttle Detroit and where We keep our boat. Bear drop is a great anchorage we visit at least once a year. So glad you got to enjoy our area.
We appreciate your explanation of the difference between cruising & looping. We've spent the last 45+ years cruising Georgian Bay & the North Channel & never get tired of it. You have hit the high lights. We are happy that you have enjoyed it so much. Do come back.
Hey Art, I am putting in at St Ignace on July 2, On the 14th I meet up with some other Rosborough 246's in Little Current--what are some must sees and anchorages between St. Ignace Michigan and Little Current?
@@Jessicabollingercom Scho and Jo have hit the best of the best. You can't go wrong following their route in reverse. We also enjoy visits to the ports of Thessalon, Blind River, Spanish and Gore Bay. Take your time and enjoy the scenery. Welcome to Canada.
Long Point Cove is a special place to me. We were anchored there in 2015 when my mother phoned me (highly unusual at any time) and said my father had passed. We returned a year later on that date to mark that day and remember. Both parents are gone now but they live in our boating memories. Love your videos.
Just found your video lots of sailing boats we have a 36ft displacement we have just both retired just started to live on our boat with 2 rag doll cats and a Miniature Labradoodle it’s great 👍 we live in Brisbane QLD Australia I watched you hose the anchor off what we do save water is as the anchor is coming out of the water we dump it back in work’s a treat just a thought 😊
Excellent editing and choice of music. One of your best in my opinion. Just a suggestion, next pet, way down the road or sibling for Ollie is named Benji to remind you of this area 😉 All the best 🙂
That's a new term to us 😁 Fun fact, in this anchorage, we met a boat that has been looping for 10 years! Bringing their boat into every waterway and looping very slowly...
@@SchoandJo Oh Wow.... I have wondered a great many times what people who do not want to leave/store their boats (up north) during the winters but also want to take a slower loop experience 'do' during the winter months..... I thefted that terms from Technomadia - Chris & Cherie are self-professed Slow Loopers aka Sloopers ;-) ;-)
Anchoring in 2 ½ feet of water would be stressful for me; as well as all the rocks around. But being seasoned cruisers that you are, I'm sure you had the situation well in hand. Beautiful area! Looking forward to your next video.
Great video!! Quick question… what mount do you use for your iPad? Also what mantis anchor do you use and what is the weight??? We are LIFE FROM THE BRIDGE 2025 Love all your videos and the information you provide for us!!!!
We use the Arkon Heavy Duty Mount for our IPad, and we have a 65lb Mantus M1. Thanks for watching and we are happy to answer any other questions y’all have!
