Just came over after watching him on Action Kid's channel. Funny dude. I used to hang out at the Cafe Wha? in 1967 when I was 15 years old. $2 rum and cokes at 2 in the morning; watching awesome (and not so awesome) groups play and then pass the hat. Caught Mort Sahl's schtick routine one Friday night and then watched him on the Ed Sullivan show two nights later. Good times - good memories. Cheers.
Another fascinating building in New York City, although not in the Greenwich, is the Brill Building on Broadway and 48th or 49th. A ton great songwriters and singers worked out of there.
Just discovered Tom Delgado! You are one funny dude! A guy walks into a bar. The bartender asks, "What'll it be?" The guy says, "Make it an ass blaster." The bartender says, "What's that?" The guy answers, "Vodka and prune juice." You're not laughing. Neither did anyone else. Oh, well.
Aww,, you didn't show my old handout, The Fejon! The Cafe Wha? was too expensive for me, I could however afford a hot chocolate in the Fejon or a slice of Pizza at the pizza shop beyond the Wha? Winters in New York can be a b_tch when you're broke, but we had fun! With two friends we paid $60 a month for our walk-up that had no real heat or hot water, but was a short walk to our lousy jobs that paid a #1.25 an hour. I met my future wife at the Electric Circus, and we attended several concert there and at the Filmore East.
Hey, you did good on Everybody's Talking. One of my fav. songs was and is Diamonds and Rust by Joan Biaz. Love her! Now that I see where she was talking about....it kinda changes my mental picture I used to have of that song. Anyhoo.. I am thoroughly enjoying your channel. Keep up the good work....I'll keep watching. You are very young??? Okay, I'm okay with that. You are energetic enough to walk long distances and that's good enough for me. Hope you are living the dream. Godspeed.
you left out the Kettle of Fish, whwenver i was on Bleeker St i would always hear that Bob had been there the day before or a few days before, never did cross paths...and on Saturday morings, the Cafe Wa would let us under 18's in and sell us overpriced kool aide and Baskets of potao chips , while people practiced their acts and music...
