I met him at ontario speedway and at pomona various times always a class act i couldn't say the same for warren pissy pants johnson although warrens son was very pleasant to speak with. Rip Bob.
I didn't have trouble talking to Warren. But it's no surprise most of those guys can be cagey with what they say or who they say it to. Probably depends on the day and the situation. I can tell you if you are running well , most are happy to talk to you.

Look at the Wayne county SPEED SHOP boys they were caught running nitrous and they faked a break in they said a burglar broke off of corner of the engine block they couldn’t fix it !! Bunch a load of crap. Warren Johnson was squeezing using nitrous. says I’m not gonna use that crap . Bob had one of the best reaction times of the day he worked on his cylinder heads with those Cleveland heads more than anybody else that’s why he ran and he won when he won.

Bob Glidden is a legend, no one had the success that he had, and it was in a Ford, a fact Chevy drivers can't seem to accept to this day, but those days are over with. corporate ass kissing by NHRA and GM had all but eliminated Ford or Chrysler from compatition. they are going to rule change them out of any chance of winning.
Its about time he woke back up. And its been so long awaited. He may not know this now. But theres another World Championship for him if he just go's for it. I hope Jim Cunningham and Ford give him the support. Bob if your listening to me. Hear this. Throw those cigarettes in the toilet and move on to what we all know you can achieve once again. @DavidW2340 I've always connected with regular people doing great things. My friends looked up to rappers and rock stars. I would rather be driving a race car like Bob Glidden. Never went on the path, though. Maybe some day.
Always bob was the man love his fords fords number one in my books good day cant beat a ford we all have are ups and downs fix them better and move on will miss bob for sure rest in peace i bet hes got the ford clothes on his back 😊
