Labguy starts a new project today. based upon a neat 3cm or 1 and 1/4 inch cathode ray tube, the foundation of a very compact and simple X, Y and Z display is constructed. This tube is the D3/130GH made by Brimar in January of 1978. We deep dive the DC circuits required to make the tube operate at its most basic level. Comparison is made between this tube and it's equivalent competitor, the Cossor 1CP1 also known as the Philips DG3-91. Sit back and enjoy a layman's lesson in simple electrostatic CRT circuit design. Do you have an electrostatic CRT in the one to three inch class? Let us know in the comments if you can make your tube work with what you learn here.
WARNING. These projects operate at moderately high voltages and medium currents. Consider your safety at all times and work with care. If in doubt, don't risk it.
Most of all, enjoy the project. If you like the video, you know what to do. Leave a comment if you are so inclined. have a great day!
