The Chief and KOTV Monoscope Tube

I was lucky enough to participate in the recovery of the image from the monoscope tube that carries a very early station ID slide from television station KOTV in Tulsa Oklahoma. Their 75th anniversary is approaching and they thought it would be great to see the image from the tube that was discovered in a drawer of the back room at their station. A little research on the web led them to me and I was more than happy to lend a hand. As a benefit, The Chief got dusted off, fired up and got the picture out of their old tube. rest assured, there will be more to come on this topic.

I'm the News Operations Manager at KOTV. Thanks so much for bringing our test pattern back to life. Tulsa is a very nostalgic market so to be able to see this image again after all these decades is a real thrill for us and many of our viewers.

Ooooh, yes. Are you sure you don't want stay for some tea? We better honor their request, Frito..... (let them wonder what the heck that was all about....) Plus, according to The Firesign Theater, the Indians invented the wire recorder. And that's a fact!

Ah-ha! After watching the interview I did a bit of research and discovered that the building in the test pattern is of '320 South Boston building' You might be asking "Why did you need to research that?" And the reason is: I have nothing better to do.
