Gracie- Go ahead and react to Bob Segers song Against The Wind. Thats another one of his great songs that tells a story and he is playing guitar so you will love it.
You can't go wrong with Bob Seger. The man just never missed. I don't know of one single bad tune in his considerable career. That voice man. No one else will ever be able to be Seger. I grew up listening to him and others and he was always a go to favorite.
This song brings back memories for me. In particular when this came out, I was living in Nebraska and at the time the drinking age was 19, so buddy and I hooked up with a couple of chicks and drove down to Kansas (In a Chevy van) where the drinking age was 18. On the way there we were playing this album. This song worked perfectly.🎸👿😁 I finally got to see him during his last tour in 2018 in Sacramento😎
The song has 3 different meanings, the first part of night moves is about a young couple losing their virginity in the back seat of a 60's Chevy. Then transitions to "summertime, sweet summertime, summertime," he's not only referring to the time of the year, but to that season of his life as well. In the last verse of the song, when he is reminiscing, he says, "With autumn closing in" and is referring to the autumn of his life, getting older, "funny how the nights moves." Just a master piece of song writing and sung with such emotion.
