Yes, the woman in gray is her mother, Ruby. The man leaning down to Bobbie is Ruby's husband at the time and the first woman you see in the kitchen is her beloved grandmother, Mama Streeter. That handsome young man coming through the kitchen toward the camera is Robert, Bobbie's brother...whom I was married to for 15 years and finally Aunt Francis comes into the kitchen. Im guessing this is in 1972 or 1973. Great to see, thanks.
Wow! Thanks for sharing. This is just how I remember she looked when I went backstage after one of her shows at the Landmark in Vegas, I'd guess 1971, and she was sweet enough to spend time with me and my family in her private quarters.
Forgive me, please, I'm not sure if the man leaning down is Ruby's husband...this was a long time ago. I have now watched this multiple times and I am sure that the older man in the suit is Papa Streeter which would put this, the Christmas of 1973. Robert and I met on July 29, 1973 in Reno. Love to know where you got this, cyrilbear and thank you so much for sharing this most personal trip down memory lane.
I think I got the video from this article and added the music. www.scpr.org/programs/offramp/2010/01/23/4252/the-bobbie-gentry-tapes-fan-finds-unreleased-recor/
@@cyrilbear There were originally two videos on the website you provided. By some small chance, do you have the other video that shows Bobbie with her mom, step-dad, and another guy? It's just clips of Bobbie riding her bike, she and her family hitting a few golf balls and just having a good time. I thought I had downloaded that video to my computer, but apparently I didn't. I went to the website a few hours ago and both videos are missing. I really treasured both of those videos. She and my dad grew up together and were close friends. If you happened to have it, could you put it on RU-vid? Thank you in advance!!!
@@jt2964 I remember the other video you talk about but don'y know if I still have it as I have two external hard drives that failed. However it was so long ago that it may be on an older drive or even backed up on a disc. If I come across it I will surely post. Cheers, David
@@cyrilbear2771 I know the feeling. I thought I had it on my old laptop, but it's a goner. And, my heart briefly stopped beating when I realized the other day that both of the videos had been removed. I don't want to be a pain, but if you do come across it someday, shoot me a message. I would love to see it again.
Who was the cute guy coming through the kitchen? Also love the hair dtyer gift! These christmashome movies are quite a bit like my families home movies
Harrah was married seven times to six women, including a four-month marriage to the singer-songwriter Bobbie Gentry in 1969; the sugar baby relationship was alluded to in Gentry's fictionalized account of her life, "Fancy," in which a "benevolent man" (Harrah) takes in an impoverished Southern prostitute (Gentry). William Harrah could be in this video as they were married briefly around this time.man in suit looks like him.
