Watch star chef Bobby Flay prepare fresh corn tamales with shrimp and roasted garlic - the signature dish at Mesa Grill at the 2007 Food & Wine Classic in Aspen.
I went to Bobbie Flay's restaurant, Mesa Grill in Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas and I had the shrimp tamale. You can only order it as an appetizer. 1st,let me say that it was the BEST TAMALE that I've ever eaten. The masa was fabulous, it was as if they cooked it in a seafood stock prior to wrapping the tamale. You owe it to yourself to visit Mesa Grill & you will enjoy yourself.
No no no bad Bobby flay tamales are great, prawns are great but too much of a good thing is just too much but I'm more of a purist, you can't make tamal masa with shrimp stock. You are supposed to use stock rendered from the meat that you fill the tamales with as the fluid in the dough mix.
Have you ever had this? It's pure heaven. Bobby is a freaking genius. Dude trained in New Mexico for years...pretty sure he knows the rules of making a traditional tamale...but if you know Bobby, he doesn't really care about tradition.
@@nadialopezmenchaca6071 He didn't call it a Mexican tamale. But I've had it several times and it's better than any Mexican tamale I've ever had (and I love me some tamales). In fact it's the best thing I've ever put in my mouth.
