The body of the missing television doctor Michael Mosley was found this morning as his wife paid tribute to her “wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband”.
Mosley, who disappeared on Wednesday, was discovered in the shade of a wall, with a chain link fence separating him from the beach resort of Agia Marina on the Greek island of Symi.
Petros Vassilaki, the head of police for Symi, said a preliminary examination identified the body as Mosley. He was identified by his clothing and wristwatch.
Mosley’s wife, Clare Bailey Mosley, said in a statement: “It’s devastating to have lost Michael, my wonderful, funny, kind and brilliant husband. We had an incredibly lucky life together. We loved each other very much and were so happy together.”

I was diagnosed with tyoe 2 diabetes in 2021 and Michael's books on reversing the diabetes through diet, fasting and exercise helped me drop just over 2 stone in weight and keep my diabetes levels under the levels to be deemed healthy. Been a big fan of his for decades. The series he did where each week he took a different class A drug to measure the effects on the body was both amusing to watch and extremely informative. The science and TV community have lost a good one. R.I.P

My mom reversed her prediabetes (going to Type 2 DM) through IF too. A few years back I told the success story of Dr. Mosely in managing his diabetes. Now my mom is slimmer than before & her fasting blood glucose is well controlled at around 5-6 & HBA1C is around normal range too. There were odd times her glucose level went down at around 4. Back to this tragic incident .Most people can understand the dehydration part i.e long journey in a very hot weather + under dark coloured umbrella. However *please do not forget that this was somebody who was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus many years ago and managed to "reverse" it using a 5:2 diet.* Having said that, *hypoglycemia* could've contributed to *acute confusion & drowsiness.* He could've *collapsed & lost consciousness* because of that 😢😢.

I can’t help wondering why Dr Mosely left the beach, walked the coastal path to pedi, reached pedi didn’t stop for a drink or rest and walked in the opposite direction of the house he was staying at and then took an unlikely route in the scorching heat? Dr Mosely was an awesome Dr and obv would have known how dangerous it was to walk in that horrendous heat without stopping for a drink or a rest. 😢

@Baldnesz
@Baldnesz 28 дней назад
Is wasn't hundreds but who was responsible for coordinating the search. I am no expert but radiating out from search areas is logical and all we have really seen is people messing about with drones and a dog close to Pedi, a few hundred meters up the hill towards the marina and a helicopter. We haven't seen tens of tourists scouring the area or seemingly thinking of all the probable locations he could have wanted to get to. At most times he would have been in sight of sun and coast and likely headed in a specific direction. All we heard was how it was so arduous etc etc. The facts appear to prove a pensioner made it over that terrain and people were massively incorrect. I lived in Cyprus as a kid. Yes it's hot, yes you are silly wandering around the Bondu in sun but we did it and so all this guff about him likely passing out or going delirious a couple of hundred meters out of Pedi were unlikely. His body was found in a near straight line from where he left the outskirts of Pedi. At some point he did decide to carry on instead of going back, but he made it and he was no superhuman. The authorities underestimated him and searched poorly imho

Guys I am from Greece and I can tell you the conditions with this heat are treacherous and possibly deadly. I strongly advise against going on a hike on such conditions in barren landscapes. Always take cover, use sun protection and carry big bottles of water. There is no adventure more important than your life.
@walterkronkitesleftshoe6684
@walterkronkitesleftshoe6684 25 дней назад
Absolutely correct. But can you not see that he never set off for a "hike in barren landscapes"? He set of on a short walk for his apartment in Symi town along a clearly defined path and roadway, armed with sun protection and very likely a bottle of water in his small rucksack (all this "he had no water" is complete uncoroborated hearsay from the gutter MSM). He simply misjudged the high temperature, quite possibly because he had been for a swim at Agia Nikolios beach shortly before setting off on his final walk. He then suffered the onset of heat stroke, became disorientated took a wrong turn into a barren, rocky headland in scorching conditions and succumbed to heat stroke and dehydration. Surely you're aware of the physical symptoms of heat stroke? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_stroke

Knowledgable doctor who cares about his health helping others , goes out in 40 degrees celsius when he was not feeling well on his own without water or mobile and anybody with him. His dead body was found close by the beach where he stayed. Was it all planned? Was he diagnosed with untreatable illness? I walk and swim around remote parts of the Greek islands with my wife (I'm in Ikaria doing this even now) but I wouldn't have dreamt of attempting what he did, especially unaccompanied. I know the limits of age and the effects upon an older body of extreme climate, no matter how fit. What he did was crazy. He probably became delirious with dehydration and exhaustion. He could have induce a stroke or heart attack. How desperately terrible and sad for his family. Why was he not seen?
