I had pain in chest that radiated to my back. I couldn't sit down, or walk or lay down because the pain got so bad. I was a smoker back then 2006 and I said, " Lord, I don't want to go out like this, and if you take this pain away, I promise I'll never smoke again." Well, immediately the pain went away, and I feel asleep. When I woke.up I said I made a promise to God so I'd better keep it..so I did!

My husband died in 2017 Thanksgiving week. He complained o shortness of breath and being tired a lot. But never complained about anything else. He was a avid runner and a vegetarian. I never thought anything like that would ever had happened. Everyone was shocked about him dying. He worked all day and when he was almost home when he had his heart attack. The only thing I noticed about him before the heart attack is that he looked tired and his eyes looked so bloodshot. Never seen anything like it before. I miss him so much everyday.

Another thing to consider that I learned with a loved one is that if you call an ambulance, not only can they treat you on the way to hospital, but you can go straight in to ER, but if you or someone drives you, you have to check in at ER and go through triage!! That can take a while!! Thanks for the info!

My Aunt isisted on waiting for her son to get off of work so he could take her to ER. She didn't make it. It was terrible. She passed away as they were taking her blood in the ER, awful.

Sad thing is, so many people believe that saying "chest pain" means they'll have a room waiting when they get to the ER. So an ingrown toenail often becomes "chest pain" and an ambulance ride. But if the assessment in the ambulance and then the initial intake assessment in the ER says probably an ingrown toenail and NOT "chest pain", then no. You don't get to go straight to a room. You get to wait. People abuse the system. That clogs the system. And people with real "chest pain" get lost in the shuffle.

My friend was at work, told me she'd be going to the doc in an hour for reg checkup & be back as soon as she was done. Didn't hear back from her til next afternoon when she called from a hospital 30 mi away. Her doctor listened to her heart, called a squad & she had open heart surgery an hour later with no symptoms AT ALL. She is still fine now 15 yrs later. God is good!!

My nephew told his wife he had heartburn and was getting out of bed for awhile. He had done this before so she didn't think anything about it. He was 55 and ate very healthy exercised regularly. She found him lying in the living room and the last thing he searched on his phone was heart attack symptoms. We had his funeral today. My niece is devastated.

I predicted my own heart attack to a cardiologist and was told to go away and see a psychologist for anxiety. When I had the heart attack he didn’t have the manners to apologise. By the way I had all these symptoms and I’m a woman, women can have different or more subtle symptoms.

Totally agree. Mom, 97, just had one a mild one and some blood clots were found, as well. We thought it was indigestion or heartburn. Spent 4 days in hospital, she's back home and is on bloodthinners but still feels tired. Some of the meds doctors prescribed were causing her too many side effects... anxiey, dizziness, and nausea. I talked to her primary care physician to lower dosage and give us some alternatives. I'm praying she recovers.

They will not apologize ever. I was put on radatidine and took the half used bottle to the dr. and asked what should I do with these? They are recalled as causing cancer. She said just throw them out. No apology, although I did expect one. At least a bit of concern would have been nice.

5 years ago this March i had a mild heart attack which lead to my diagnosis of having systolic heart failure after stating 4 to 5 months previous to my primary care doc that i have had since i was 23.. check me let me have a full exam .. it got pushed off.. when u had mine it was like indigestion with heaviness that i couldn't shake.. was diagnosed with this all at age 44 .. been on low so diet ever since and still fighting the weight and i am active.. take care of your bodies .. I'm not where i wanted to be at age 50 but i am alive and these guys are so informative.. love Bob and Brad the 2 most famous physical therapists on the internet ❤👏😁 (let's say this , listen to your body, it is giving u signs like they state here) also my primary care listens to me since my warning signs but it was anxiety and all that from issues i had going on at the same time (whiplash, Plantar fasciitis, should injury, 2 pinched nerves 🤦🏼‍♀️) call 911 if u have issues is the bottom line

I was a 50 year old female at work, getting ready to go home. I started having a pain in my neck. As I was driving home the pain radiated thru my jaw. Then I started coughing for no reason. I knew that something was not right. I drove to the hospital was taken in to emergency room were I started breathing hard and loud. The nurse told me I was getting enough oxygen and to stop breathing that way. I couldn't, it felt like I had to breathe. Turned out I was having a heart attack then everything changed, I was put in a ambulance and my heart stopped. It took two shocks to restart. When they took me to the hospital room my heart stopped three more times they put two stents in the rca. The doctor said had I gone home to lay down I would not be here. Please if you have pain anywhere, go to the hospital!

My father had a ruptured aorta and insisted on driving himself to the hospital with me in the passenger seat, though I was a competant driver at the time. He dropped me off at the emergency entrance while he parked the car a block away and walked to the emergency entrance where he was met by emergency personnel. He died on the operating table 6 hours later. Men.... stop being heros! It could cost you your life! :'(

I had severe (like a truck ran over them) pain in both arms. I had an appt with my family doc the next day so I waited. I showed up in her office sweating profusely with the worst heartburn (acid reflux) pain I ever had. My blood pressure was NORMAL...so...because I have arthritis and a few other autoimmune conditions, she talked to me like I was one of her pediatric patients in a sing song voice "Now Linn, you don't have any redness or swelling in your arms from an arthritis flare that I can see...you seem fine...mmkay?" Went home and my husband forced me to go to ER around 5 am. I was in surgery within 30 minutes. Two stents. The cath nurses called her and told her off. Let me tell you this: Doctors patronize and talk down to women and it gets worse with age. Studies show this trend, over and over. After I got out of the hospital, the apology voicemails started. I finally called her back and she STILL gave me pushback, defending her idiocy. "But your blood pressure was normal!" I told her: Keep ignoring your patients' clinical presentation and you're going to be responsible for someone's death."

Normal blood pressure doesn’t mean you aren’t having a heart attack (as you well know!). They must check your cardiac enzymes through blood work, and do EKG’s. Anyone that even thinks they are having cardiac issues must take an aspirin and get to the Emergency Room! Call an ambulance so you can get on a monitor and be given oxygen. They will keep you on bed rest and give you oxygen in the hospital (if they deem it is indeed cardiac) to allow your heart to be rest as much as possible, and will do tests and surgery if you need it. Above all else… TREAT YOUR STRESS! Stress CAN bring on a heart attack.

If it causes anxiety then you need to observe this as useful information because it could infact save you. You can deal with your anxiety symptoms by taking in slow deep breaths through your nose and then breathe out slowly through your lips and relax. Do this by sitting down with your head tilted back and eyes closed, then let me know how you feel after doing this please?

I had a heart attack followed by a by pass and for several weeks I had an overwhelming feeling that I would just drop dead. No pain no pressure just a feeling of dread. It would come and go. My doctor was on vacation but I managed to see two other doctors that told me I was fine. Then after one of those spells I went to the ER and they to sent me home saying they had sick people to take care of. Finally after ten days my doctor came back and when I went in and told him how I felt, I was having a heart attack. He did an EKG and discovered it. If something doesn’t feel wright and persistently so…keep seeking help. No one knows how you feel except YOU and you will know when things aren’t as they should be..Be persistent it could save your life.

I would add that sometimes a heart attack is a long, drawn out affair. If due to blockages in arteries, you will be feeling gradually worse over years, then months, then days, then hours... For a long time, I just thought I was getting old, gained weight, was out of shape, and dismissed and rationalized what was going on until I couldn't ignore symptoms anymore. Looking back, I'm amazed at my ability to deny! Even the actual "heart attack" wasn't a "BAM" sudden kind of thing. I think many people have the wrong idea about how a heart attack can feel. Especially in women.

My dad lived an ultra healthy lifestyle, and still succumbed to a heart attack at 57 years old. Part of the problem was that he was not really ever sick, so he didn’t see a need to see doctors. Preventative health should include Check ups too. Not just healthy eating, and exercise.

Natural Man thanks, He just didn’t consume alcohol, any processed foods, and he avoided excess carbs. Basically the opposite of the standard American diet. He also exercised regularly. Just a week before his death he was being honored at work for having perfect attendance for 30 years. The man never took a sick day. It’s all very ironic.

You can’t run away from genetics. His family has a history of heart disease. You can take steps to prevent the onset, but you can’t prevent something like that if it is encoded in your DNA. If he had kept up on preventative health visits, it’s possible they could have caught early signs of a problem. Less than subtle clues that were visible in his postmortem.

I had a sudden cardiac arrest. I lost 5 weeks memory. That's okay though. I am still alive thanks to my husband being home and the first responders.

I had a heart attack on December 5th after working in the yard in the cold. When I came in my chest pain was marginal. Almost, light digestion. I went all evening and night and finally went to the hospital the next morning. That night I did have a panic attack, and threw up and lost my bowels, cold sweat too, still I was not convinced it was a real heart attack. At 66 I am really good shape, no high blood pressure, eat well. But, weeks before this event, I was having high anxiety and electrical like feeling in my body.

I lost 2 brothers to heart attacks. One was 53, the other 59. Both were heavy smokers. The first one had left shoulder pain for a couple of days, he thought he pulled a muscle in his shoulder. Then he became short of breath, called paramedics but died before the ambulance got to his house. The 2nd brother was feeling flu like symptoms but was beginning to feel better. On a Monday morning getting ready for work, he suffered cardiac arrest in the shower. His roomate found him after realizing his truck was still outside that morning. Both brothers smoked a pack or more a day. Their arteries became thick from smoking, and as both their autopsies confirmed atherosclerosis as cause of death. I miss them so much. These guys were the best brothers I could ask for. For any smokers out there, please quit. Smoking not only causes cancer, but can also cause heart disease.

You are so right to share your story!!! People only think that cigarettes damage the lungs and that they could get lung cancer but they have no idea is that cigarette smoking causes heart attacks and strokes!!! As an RN I am telling you.. if you cherish your life and your family stop smoking it can be done!!! I quit my roli twenties and I'm glad I did!! And this was way before it was popular to quit smoking!! We also did not know the cardiac risks back in the 70s like we do now!!!

I was about 35. Had fleeting pains that felt like they were just behind the skin of my chest. They would come and go and kind of wander around. I finally went to my doc. He said..”what's going on in your life?” As I was adding up all the stressors, it became pretty clear that I had a stress load that was way too high. After that conversation he said, without touching or examining me..”when you go out the door, the pains will stop”. He was right. From then on I have been super careful about my stress level…stress kills!

@@paulrixson5828 putting it a video like this claiming it's a month in advance warning I'm almost tempted to research what state they're licensed physical therapists in and passing this along to the licensing board. Chances are they'd lose their license. I'm also a first aid instructor and if these were such advanced symptoms it wouldn't be curriculum that they are pretty much immediate trip to the Dr, ER or 911.

Well, my brother was 49 and had the "Feeling weak or sluggish, lower energy then normal, " "Nausea, feeling rather ill, or not feeling right" several times in prior month - never suspecting heart issues. Decided it was just job stress and decided to go on a little hike to help his energy and mind ... just a bit into the hike he decided to go to Dr. because he was feel nausea and dizzy kinda suddenly. 4 stints later he was ok ...... so yeah, he had (in retrospect) warnings in the prior month ...

@@clwest3538 I’m 49 and two nights ago, I felt a chronic sort of emotional ache in my chest, I got super sleepy and dizzy, I had to lay on the floor to retain consciousness enough to eat some food, and then I felt a bit more together. I definitely have been feeling like something isn’t “right.” It feels like a sad ache in my chest, and I’ve been oversleeping and not eating enough food, and have been short of breath. I think it may be like a depression or stress symptoms, but I told my friend, I felt like I’ve been “shutting down.” I don’t want to be dramatic, but my gut is telling me to call my doctor tomorrow, and see what they say.

I had a heart attack at 44 yrs of age....and it came out of nowhere....I got super sick and was vomiting a lot then I noticed a extremely weakness feeling like I've never felt before so I immediately called 911 and had no idea it was a heart attack.....I had NONE of the textbook symptoms....I was actually standing up when the EMTs came into my house.....I needed 2 stents .....but all I can say is that you will definitely feel something totally unusual and that's the time you call 911...

I knew I was having a heart attack the day before I had it. I even told my mom. It was a bad one with 3 blockages, stents and 40% of my heart damaged. Then I knew I had another blockage a year later and thankfully they cleared it before I had another heart attack. Then 2 years after that I knew a week before my open heart surgery for a double bypass that something was wrong and again, avoided another heart attack. I didn’t have chest pain with my heart attack. I felt it in the back of my head. It felt like someone hit me with an aluminum baseball bat and then I started having weird feelings in my left jaw. I turned red and started vomiting and my blood pressure was 210/120. My norm is 90/60. I was 47 years old, 113 pounds, ran 2 miles every day, only drank water and ate healthy. Turns out I have coronary artery disease which is hereditary. Very scary stuff and I’m glad that I’m so in tune with my body or I might not be here right now.

From my experience there was a subtle but important difference in heartburn from acid reflux and the feeling of ‘heartburn’ during a heart attack - the new pain was more specifically localized, more intense and further back towards the spine than ordinary heartburn. *you left out back pain!* before i had my heart attack, *i knew that for women it could be back pain, and that's exactly what i had when i was having a heart attack.* it started with nausea that didn't go away in an hour or two, followed by pain that started in my back and eventually spanned across my back for the next few hours, from approximately my shoulder blade across to the other shoulder blade. there was no left arm pain, no jaw pain, no pressure on my chest, no change in blood pressure that i could tell, just on-going nausea and increasing back pain. in fact, it apparently started 3 days before, after i ate lunch ... i stopped to have a cig after i ate, before going into a store, and i felt very overheated, weak and woozy. i went home and took a nap, and 4 hours later when i woke up, the symptoms had subsided. 3 days later, the full blown heart attack i described above. i ended up having a triple bypass out of the deal.

I had some of these symptoms. It turned out to be an Aortic Dissection, Stanford Type B. Thankful surgery wasn’t needed! Coincidentally, I am guilty of a call out on this video. I drove myself despite the pain. Call 911 in the future. Time is essential during these time. It can be fatal depending on severity (24-72 hours). Also, appreciate that they identified the medical issue accurately by the 6th hour in ER. While they were deciding if surgery was needed they had paramedics on standby to bring me to another hospital that could conduct surgery. It was determined surgery wasn’t needed due to size and I was rushed to ICU to lower my BP intravenously. It is now being medically managed via medication. Prayers and faith in God got me through and I am grateful!!!

My dad, woke up with a pain in his back, by his shoulder blade. Went the doctors within the hour. While waiting in the queue to get booked in, he collapsed in the surgery, all doctors came running out to resuscitate him. Got it going again, got the ambulance, Straight Into theatre, he had the chicken wire in his arm and stent. His doing fine now

One time I went to the heart hospital after I had an abnormal EKG. They did more tests and said it was an electrolyte imbalance. I almost had an actual heart attack when I saw the bill.

Hello Bob and Brad, I am glad to greet you this morning! Two weeks ago I was taken by a wonderful team of EMS with atrial fibrillation. I felt nothing, except a “weird” sensation around my neck, under my tongue, into throat. At hospital it took four meds, six hours, for heart to return to sinus rhythm. I then had heart cath and four blockages discovered, soon in surgery. The leg where vein was harvested Is awfully bruised and painful. But the chest pain now, up and down the incision takes my breath away. Everyone is telling me to breathe. Black and blue all over from everything. BUT, I am still here, given new life, new breath, new opportunities to live and enjoy family and my future! I thank God for the extraordinary cardiology team at Celebration Health, Florida. Two weeks post op, it’s hard but easier every day to walk a bit, sit a while. Laying on back is painful still and sleep is elusive. Praying for full recovery. Faith God has not given up on me yet and still has a plan for my life at 70.

I worked in an ER and lots of times especially older people do not want to call an ambulance because they are afraid the insurance will not pay for it, but if you think you are having a heart attack you should because they can restart your heart and or give CPR till you get to the hospital. Also a lot of people say they feel like they are coming down with the flu a few days before they have a heart attack, just something to keep in mind.

I had toothache for two years, and that turned out to be a symptom a warning sign of my Widowmaker heart attack that I had on December 12th 2018, but then I went into a cardiac arrest, which lasted 5 minutes and I'm very lucky to be alive. Toothache that is not caused by tooth problem is definitely a sign a warning sign of cardiac issue

I was in the hospital and nausea was my first symptom. It hit me fast and hard. I was already connected to monitors when this happened and each time nausea start the monitors lit up like pinball. I had the best treatment from nurses. I felt like they were my angels. Wonderful, considerate, hard working, people. My neck and jaw was so painful. My heart rate just kept going up. I'm a 68 year old female and had an emergency bypass operation (CABG X5) just two months ago. My only symptom was a small pain in the center left of my chest, like a muscle pain. It would come and go for about 2 weeks. I kept telling my friends about it, until one of them drove me to the ER to get checked. While there, I had increased pressure in my chest, and blood tests showed an elevated troponin level (troponin is an enzymatic protein. The troponin blood test for heart attack is highly sensitive and is considered the gold standard for determining damage to cardiac muscle.) Pay attention to any chest pain. It could save your life. Luckily, I had people who insisted that I get it checked out and they probably saved my life.

I called an ambulance a few months ago for my mom due to an unknowing at the time, low blood sugar episode. She was completely delirious and acting like it was epilepsy. She got mad at me and refused to go in the ambulance. Because she refused, I was given a bill for $200 for treating her in her home with glucose packets they had and a peanut butter sandwich I made for her on direction from the EMTs. I shudder at what the bill would have been with the ambulance.

I was 46 when I started having BACK pain early on a Sunday morning. It lasted about 5 minutes and would go away. Then I would fall back asleep only to be woken up again 2-3 hours later. Everytime this happened it was about 45 minutes to an hour earlier each time until it was happening every 10 minutes. My cousin was staying with me at the time and called 911. Meanwhile I was chewing baby aspirin. The EMT's said my BP was 235/190. Not good. But likely the aspirin saved my life. They got me to the ER in 15 minutes from 23 miles away. They were flyin'. The ER doc ran some tests and came back in about 25 minutes and said, we are not sure how many heart attacks you have had, but its at least 3 and we have booked the OR for Wednesday. That got postponed 2 days. Afterwards the next day the surgeon talked to me and said they had planned a triple bypass, but on the table it was changed to a 6 way CABG. 3 arteries were 90% blocked and 1 was completely blocked in 2 places. After a week I was sent home the following Friday. By Sunday I was so sick I couldn't stand and went back to the ER via the same ambulance. I was septic and all the work from the first bypass was completely destroyed. After the 2nd bypass, he left my chest open an inch and a half. My brother said he could see my heart beating in my chest. I told him that was a good thing. When I asked the doc how long it would be before I could go home, he said as soon as your chest closes up on its own. Because only then they would know the infection was gone. They also had a wound vac on my leg and one on my chest changed out daily. I went home 5 months later. I had to learn how to bathe and walk all over again and had a home care nurse and rehab for the next 8 months. Now it was February of 2017 and my brother had passed on the first. After I got back home I was doing pretty good. That was until a valve collapsed in October 2018 walking into the VA for a Dr. appointment. I had a heart attack in the parking lot and ended up CRAWLING inside. They put in a stent that weekend. I felt great until July of 2020 when I decided to by myself a late birthday present at the Harley dealership. I had never been on a bike in my life. So I signed up for their coarse. However, 3 hours into the first day I was doing horrible. I was sweating so bad it looked like I had been thrown in a pool. With Covid, they didn't get me in until MARCH of this year. After X rays and an MRI, they scheduled an OR for angioplasty.They discovered a collapsed vein cutting off 20% of the blood flow in my heart. I had had yet another heart attack. I am doing much better now. 2 bypasses, sepsis, 2 stents and at least 5 heart attacks later. I turned 51 in May and have still not been able to ride the bike. So, my friend. Take care of yourself. But don't dwell on shit. Take life as it comes and live each day to the fullest. Even if that means you have to stare at your new bike a year and a half before you can ride it.

I had a routine physical about 3 years ago. I hadn't had a physical or been to a doctor in probably 10 years or more. I was 55 at the time. During a routine EKG, my doctor say's "Oh when did you have your heart attack?" I told her it was news to me. There was a cardiologist in the building and she sent me straight to him. AFter checking my arteries in the hospital a couple days later, verified one of my arteries is completely blocked, but the others are wide open. I don't remember any chest pains or any of these symptoms prior other than shortness of breath, but I was 300lbs, so shortness of breath didn't seem out of the ordinary to me. No stint, dr said damage was already done. Later needed a pacemaker too as my heart rate was going crazy for no reason. Have since lost 120lbs and feel great. Walk a couple of miles every day. Can't run, but I can walk and I do it every day. Pacemaker gives me peace of mind.

The number one thing that women die of more than anything else, even breast cancer, is a heart attack. I was not taken seriously at first when I had mine. I was 47, 113 pounds, ran 2 miles a day and ate very healthy. It can happen to anyone at any age. And yes, the symptoms ARE different. I had no chest pain. I felt like someone hit me in the back of the head with an aluminum baseball bat.

Many smokers have “panic attacks “, anxiety. Don’t try to diagnose yourself (like we all do) and please don’t be afraid to call 911. They have the absolute most life-saving drugs and equipment and can get to you much faster. Pay attention to pain that doesn’t go away when you lie down and do nothing. That’s when you know to call 911 . And please, I doubt you’re a hypochondriac because a true hypochondriac rarely sees it within himself.

I had all these symptoms over a period of a week not all at the same time but I had them all. Please Don’t ignore them ! I was lucky to have had immediate medical attention when the major heart attack happened. I was very weak & not expected to survive but with great medical attention I survived & went on to have a heart bypass which in itself is a horrible experience but life saving. Never be embarrassed about calling an ambulance even if you’re not sure it’s a heart attack as it has the potential to kill you instantly. Great informative video .

I brought her back the very next morning, she was so weak and sick! They looked at the ekg again and said she'd had a heart attack! She died 2 months later😢

My husbands event happened when he was 69. No health problems his entire life but he never went to a doc for regular check-ins. Only symptom was tired more than usual for 3 days. Woke me up because he was short of breath and pressure in his chest. Turned out that 3 of his arteries were 100% blocked. Stents or bypass not possible.3 yrs later now and he’s still alive but if the last artery blocks that will be his demise. even if you ‘never’ get sick, have a GP doctor and have an annual check-in!

I have a strong family history of heart disease and have been following his no oil whole plant based diet. Made a huge difference in my risk factors. I lived less than a mile away from a hospital. I was in a cold sweat, confused, slight pain in my chest, and unsteady on my feet. I had been getting short of breath at work for a few weeks, but at age 64 I thought nothing of it. I drove to the hospital, waited at the desk for a few minutes while the lady at the counter chatted to the person in front of me ("how's the kids" chatter). I spoke up and after emergency treatment and was in an an ambulance on my way to a heart hospital within half an hour. Everything these two doctors spoke about is spot-on. I shouldn't have driven but in hindsight am glad I did. I feel it saved my life. The strange thing is that a week or so before the heart attack I had been to my family doctor on an unrelated matter, had my blood pressure taken and told I was as fit as a bull. I had a 90+% blockage in an artery as well as three smaller blockages.

my dad had a warning sign (not a heart attack) ahead of a heart attack - during the cold mornings (going to work at 59 years old) he felt and odd icy feeling kind of around his heart. turns out it was a warning sign of blocked arteries - no one ever told him he had seriously high triglyceride levels or checked him out before then. poof, bypass surgery. he lives today 26 years later.

No Dr. here but as a person who has suffered a massive heart attack I can speak from personal experience. Dizzy/light headed often...not just when you suddenly jump up off the couch or out of bed. But say just standing there making a cup of coffee, then again 5-10 minutes later again for no real reason. Now it could just be an ear infection but it could also be a lack of blood flow to the brain. Extreme Nausea/Vomiting. (This was one of my signs that I wasn't aware of) I thought I just had a case of food poisoning. Unlike me to throw up. After about 5-6 hours of vomiting I finally drove myself to the hospital. Within 2 minutes of arriving I was in an ambulance on my way to another hospital that specializes in Cardio and in surgery 20 minutes after getting to the first hospital. Had I known this was a sign I could of saved myself a lot of heart damage. Now I am currently at 38% heart function. This is sign no one seems to ever tell people about. People know about the tightness through the chest, left arm going numb etc. But not of vomiting. I should say, it's not a normal upset stomach just emptying out thing. There is a blackish bile color to it. Which I again didn't notice because I was in a dark room just feeling sick and using a bucket when needed.

My niece’s husband (34-year-old) told my niece he thought he was having a heart attack. She thought he was joking and laughed and he said he was serious so she put him in the car and drove him 15 minutes to the ER. Sadly, he was DOA. Always call 911!!

A calcium-score screening heart test (coronary calcium scan) uses computerized tomography (CT) to detect calcium deposits in the coronary arteries of your heart. A higher coronary calcium-score suggests you have a higher chance of significant narrowing in the coronary arteries and a higher risk of future heart attack.

I am so saddened to read these posts where people are dismissed by their doctor. I absolutely LOVE my primary care doctor and everyone that I have referred to him love him too. He absolutely believes and takes action on any symptom that I mention to him. My advise-if you are not satisfied with your provider, KEEP LOOKING FOR ONE.

I haven’t found a good primary doctor in a couple years. I’m still hunting... It takes a while to sign up to try one out and give them a chance before you realize they don’t have the same priorities as you do.

I had a "minor" heart attack, back when I was 42. That is a very young age for this to happen. It is of the utmost importance, to Not overlook stress form work/career, this was the thing that pushed me oIt doesn't need to be what is considered a stressful job. Get checked out once you get to about 35, the monitor it, make changes, and commit toimproveing your life a minimum of 5% year over year.

I woke up having a hard time breathing. Called 911. To make the story short. I had the window maker. They gave me 5 way bypass and told me how lucky I was. My one big symptom was I could not walk from the front of the Home Depot to the back without taking a rest. If you are finding it hard to walk as far as usual go get it checked out.

You’re right about cold sweat as my husband this Xmas Eve awakened feeling icy cold with sweat pouring off him. I phoned for ambulance and the cardiac team at the hospital safe his life but shocking his heart back to life. He’s now fitted with a Defibrillator.

I had a heart attack many years ago and my only symptom was a feeling of weakness and lethargy, which would come and go over the course of a few hours. No pressure, no pain, no sweating. If you’ve ever stayed too long in a hot tub (particularly after having had a few drinks) - that’s the sensation. I would never have gone to the ER but I knew my wife would kill me if I didn’t. At the ER everything looked good, but the blood test was just a little off and they admitted me for overnight observation. After a cardiologist got his hands on me he said I had a 99% blocked widowmaker and I was restricted to bed until a procedure could be performed. If my wife had not been so insistent, I would likely have had a fatal heart attack that night or within the next few days.

How did the blood test indicate heart issues? Do you know what the test is?

@@melindaturner3311 When the heart is damaged, heart cells burst releasing heart specific enzymes ( proteins) into the blood, that are normally only in the blood in tiny amounts. So they will gradually rise in the blood, peak & start to diminish. These can be easily measured several hours intervals. Thus the peak figure will give you an indication of the degree of heart damage- not always due to a heart attack. Hence, other investigations & clinical history.

I had heart attack signs, I had pains in my back shoulder blades and then it moved to my shoulder, then neck then middle of the chest along with headaches or pressure. I asked my doctor to check me out. They did a stress test and come to find out it was my blood pressure. It would be fine during the day. Always fine at the doctors visits at her office but after dinner in would shoot into a sky high and almost stroking me. How I figured it out MYSELF, was to borrow a BP monitor. So it might not be your heart but the pressure. Always keep pushing them to check .

I was having heart attacks for three days and never knew it. It felt just like my acid reflux. The fourth day I knew it was a heart attack as there was pain in my jaw and left arm went numb. I had a 100% blockage of the circumflex artery. Finally have medication that works for my acid reflux so I won't have to question what's going on now. I did go to the ER a week before this happened for chest pain and they told me it was my acid reflux and to go home. They never ran any tests of any kind.

I saw my mom the night before she died of a heart attack 💔 she was sweating and talking strange about my grandma who passed away years ago. I thought she had low blood sugar and had her eat something. Sadly I had know idea that would be the last time I saw her 😥 I miss my mom everyday 💔

well for the acute mega heart attack i think it is obvious. But yeah, i've been the hospital twice for "heart attack symptoms" and both times been fine. And im going through some pressure/soreness right now. I personally think it's a strained muscle due to my size and how i sleep, but who knows. I just dont want to go back yet again...... but yeah, i wont be dumb about it

My last heart attack, I got excruciating back pain on the left side, i felt dizzy, short of breath , I couldn't even lift my arm to put a drink of water and aspirin in my mouth. I also was nauseous and broke out into a sweat and heartburn that would NOT go away... I was a 46 year old woman. When I had my first heart attack at 36 I had such bad chest pain that's all i remember

My brother drove himself to the hospital with a heart attack. He had initially thought he was having acid reflux, but he couldn't get any relief with meds, so he decided to go, just in case it was something else. They took him back for emergency surgery, and he called us the next day to inform us he was in the hospital.

Bob and Brad failed to mention that women often have "lock jaw" and chest tightness or nausea but rarely, rarely have the left arm pain or jaw pain that men have. A sensation of "lock jaw", not being able to open the jaw or a sensation of a cramp under the jaw, is serious. Most medical schools teach this - but many young and old doctors still don't believe it. I was in an ER and fired my young ER doctor who didn't believe in such a symptom. I was having a heart attack as verified by my EKG and troponin level. Beware ! The symptoms DO differ in men and women.

Hi.. How about the pain in the left arm? How does it feels like? Been experiencing some pain in my left arm too.. feels like blood can't flow well and all my fingers are feeling bit numb.. and it sometimes felt like someone punched my left arm.. I have RA.. and some of my joints on my finger are swollen, I don't know if this what I'm feeling in my left arm is connected on my RA:(

As a cardiac ICU RN of 40 years I have NEVER heard of anyone male or female getting a locked jaw from a heart attack. Please don't give out medical information if you are not a medical professional. Can chest pain be referred to the jaw area...sure.....but LOCKED jaw....sorry thats a completely different condition.

@@nickisnyder3450 When I was doing my training this was mentioned and to be aware that male and females signs and symptoms vary. It’s not actual lock jaw it’s the sensation not being able to open also cramp in jaw area.

@@Jessydr438 Please go to a Doctor asap. It absolutely could be cardiac pain you are having. Your Dr will do an ECG, cardiac enzymes & a stress test, depending on those findings may want a heart cath to be sure.

Love your channel. I recommended it to my senior's group( I'm 71). Women have different symptoms. I had a heart attack in 2016 and I never had chest pains or pressure. I had pain in my upper back between my shoulder blades. Fortunately, I still went to the doctor. It wasn't until the doctor did an EKG ( i think that is the right one) That she determined it was a full blown MI. My advice to women - If something doesn't feel right and you are in pain that doesn't ease up, Get it check out. Please!!

Panic attacks can mimic heart attacks. Weakness can be chronic fatigue, or just fatigue, So many symptoms mimic heart problems but are not most of the time.

A great video and I'm sure it will help save many. I was hospitalized with a resulting $43k in insurance bills after presenting with *all* of the 'women's heart attack symptoms' two years ago after a sudden death in the family. It turned out the diagnosis was an extreme, prolonged anxiety attack. Heart disease is prominent in my family history too so it was a worry. But I'm glad I knew enough to pay attention and got help. Had it been a real heart attack, I may not have lived. And thankfully after that episode when my father and father-in-law died within days of each other recently and I began experiencing the same symptoms I recognized the signs and remembered the counselling received from my doctors. Their suggestions helped me manage my body's stress responses and get through it safely.

I once woke up with tightness in my chest and I thought, "Can I have a heart attack while I'm asleep??" So I called the ambulance and they did the once-over "twice" including MRI with and without contrast and a Trans - esophageal electrocardiogram (TEE) and everything turned out fine. I had a panic attack. So I was told to follow up with my doctor, and the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner reduced one of my medicines which might have caused a panic attack. In all this, I learned about myself, first there is a tiny hole in each person's heart where it had to close up upon being born. Mine, I found, was smaller than any other three doctor had seen. Result : I was healthy as a horse, and my medicine needed adjustment. Ah! The things you learn!

Was on my honeymoon after travelling 26 hours on a plane to Madrid from Australia we arrived in the beautiful city. Awoke at 3am with the most incredible pains. Tingles down both arms and felt like I had done a very heavy gym workout. Rang ambulance and was put in the finest cardiac ward in Madrid. Had an infarction. Spent 4 days in hospital . Came out with 10 medications . Just over 6 months and still get heart twinges. Thank goodness for travel insurance that covered everything. If you don’t feel right just act on it straight away. My wife just rang for the ambulance so it was a godsend. Continued the holiday .

If someone has dementia they often can’t explain correctly what they are feeling and will complain of nausea. We had that happen 3 times with patients that turned out to be heart attacks. The last one, she kept saying “I’m nauseous” but was clutching her chest, so I lied and told the doc she said she had chest pain. Glad I did.

Have you ever had an ECG (EKG)? After 54 years though, maybe you're OK! If they come on strong, it's probably a good idea to go to the ER. Even once. If you get a clean bill of health, it can also be a relief!
