The rear panel fabrication is complete and ready for body work. Yesterday we applied fibreglass filler over the welded seams. Today we're going to sand the fibreglass filler with 40 grit then we'll apply body filler in all the low areas. Once the lows are filled we will put a skim coat on the entire panel ✅

Joleen, IF YOU CARE FOR CHAD AND I THINK YOU DO, YOU MUST TALK HIM INTO WEARING A MASK AND TAKE OTHER STEPS TO PROTECT HIS HEALTH. BELIEVE ME I KNOW FIRST HAND HOW DANGEROUS IT IS BREATHING ALL THE DUST AND OTHER FUMES. OTHER FANS HAVE SAID THE SAME THINGS TO HIM AND I SEE NO CHANGE.

Chad ,you are correct about sand blasting. What happens is you relieve the stress of the metal on one side, which allows it to warp. I love your work and Joline's videos. Keep it up, 👌 Bill,retired machinist from Mount Airy Maryland

You can sandblast auto sheet metal with absolutely no damage if you understand what warps the metal , but I would not recommend it for an amateur . As you said ( You would warp it ) . I sandblasted all metal work in my restoration business for over 30 years with no damage . Overheating the metal causes warpage and that is caused by several things . Always blast at an angle at least eight inches away with no more than 100 pounds pressure and don't stay in one area . Constantly move around the panel to eliminate too much heat in one area. And I don't use regular sandblast sand . I buy play sand at Home Depot because it is less abrasive and is better for your health since it is intended for kids to play in and does not contain the same health hazards . Play sand usually has dampness in the sand when you buy it so spread it out on clean concrete overnight to dry it out before you put it in the sandblaster to keep it from clogging . You have to understand that sandblasting sheetmetal is done different than sandblasting heavy metals such as wheels which are much harder to damage so just go careful with sheetmetal. I recommend practicing on an old junk body panel and you will catch on very quickly.

@i8ntnuts

Sounds like great fun. If your first restoration I suggest plenty of planning ahead. Maybe one project at a time. ie: Brakes Suspension Running gear Interior Etc etc. the idea is that you don’t want to end up with a big pile of parts and get overwhelmed. So many projects end up, never finished. I always tell my first timers to try and keep the car as close to running/driving condition if it all possible. Otherwise your dream car can easily turn into a nightmare. If you are an experienced builder, just disregard all my comments. Either way best of luck and please work safe

I have many mental illnesses and have had such a hard time dealing with them and have confidence with the things I know how to do and just not thinking I'm good enough. Your daily voice with teaching other on the way anyone is able to do what they love has been life changing. I love the videos so much. I have been able to now teach my wife how to weld among other car related garage mechanic abilities I have to her. She and I have two little girls. I hate to admit being as capable that we are that we haven't been able to provide much income for sure family. I would love any advice on what we can do to earn an income . We are not looking for any hand outs. I have a state inspection license for vehicles but unfortunately unable to get hired ,with my medical mental record .With my anxiety and everything related to that being unable to work for someone else. I find doing my own work much more gratifying and successful. I love what jimbo has been doing also . I am unsure where to take life .Possibly starting a youtube channel. I never felt confident or convertible with a camera but have really gained confidence with your videos and inspiration. Any advice would be great . Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
